This 120-year-old grand dame of a hotel is filled with character. It’s not shiny and new and WiFi is patchy in the rooms but it is ideally located and has a lovely pool area and gorgeous views.

4-star hotel...but the photos speak for themselves. The room didn't live up to the common areas. It's shameful to assign a room like this, booked in May.

The hotel is located at the very end of the main street. For those taking the bus up the mountain, you'll need to walk about 1.2 kilometers to reach the hotel. The hotel is a 110-year-old castle hotel, located at the ancient city gate, with excellent service, good environment, and very exquisite. The hotel window is the sea view and the castle scenery. The hotel layout is very exquisite.

The hotel could not be in a better location with views of Etna, the town of Taormina and the sea. I had a single room. It was very small and only had a partial view which was a bit disappointing but I didn't pay much. Hotel was in a great location in Taormina.  Valet parking was very useful.  Breakfast was great - lots of traditional Silcilian items on offer including delicious cakes and easter biscuits.  Would definitely recommend.

Very nice and quite new hotel in good condition.  Staff was very friendly, especially the staff in the breakfast / restaurant room was so nice and friendly, all of them. Lovely hotel, renovated and very close to the heart of Taormina. The hotel offers beautiful views and the breakfast buffet is very good, offering several homemade cakes, eggs, and more. Good value for money. My room, however, had no view, which was a shame.

The hotel is located just a few minutes from the Messina Gate, which leads into the old city. Valet Car is a very convenient service for those arriving by car: a hotel employee will pick up your car and transport it to the indoor city parking lot for €25 per day. Very good. The guy at the front desk upgraded us to a room with a sea view balcony. It was really great. The swimming pool was also very good. The breakfast was also very rich. The room was not big but had all the facilities. The only downside was that there was no free water in the room.

We spent a wonderful four nights at Palazzo Vecchio in mid September. The location, just off Corso Umberto, was great. Beautiful hotel close to the main area. The star to this property is the hotel staff from the concierge, to front desk and to the fabulous breakfast staff in the am. We had arrived late and the dining options were closing and kept the restaurant open for us and offered us a traditional Sicilian meal! First of many fabulous meals here. This hotel is just so classically beautiful. The location is amazing - tucked away from the main hustle and bustle but just a few steps away from the main drag. The rooms were well stocked and beautiful, full of light. Very spacious and comfortable (the linens were divine).

The location is very good, get to the catherdral from the garden only takes 3 minutes. We can see Etna from our balcony. The Sky roof top restaurant is vey nice, good food and wine, with view of Etna. Breakfast is also there, very nice selections.

We were very satisfied with the room, located on the second floor. There wasn't the rooftop music we expected at night. The hotel was Traditional and wellkomming , beautiful views off the Etna Volcano and mountains. Pool was relaxing. Hotel offered a shuttle to Taormina and also there runs a bus every hour. Everybody was helpful and very nice.

Wonderful view Great location two blocks from the mainstreet. Ok room but with a wonderful terrasse with panoramic seaview and sun all day. Comfortable pool and wonderful terrasse for the breakfast. Could need some renovation/upgrade to keep the 4 stars.

The hotel has an amazing view of the coast and Mt Etna. And it is only a 5-10 minute walk down some stairs and hill to the main pedestrian street. Breakfast is good and can be enjoyed on the terrace with the view. One drawback is the shower is ridiculously small with a lightweight curtain that comes against you so there is no room to wash and water gets all over the floor.

The hotel is a bit tired; it needs to be modernized. I can imagine in the 50s/60’s it was the place to be in Taormina. There are many pictures around the hotel from that period showing the glamorous lifestyle then. Great views, helpful and friendly staff. Swimming pool was a lovely bonus. Room was ok, bathroom/shower not so great. Be prepared to get fit if you plan to walk into town and back. Would definitely recommend especially for the price.

Very nice suite, amazing view of Etna, medieval theme is quaint, bed is ok, the wind at night makes the doors shake/noise, it’s right near the piazza/restaurants. We had little idea how high up the mountain this was, and the communication video regarding load in wasn’t to our suite, but reception (it’s a diffuse hotel). The hotel was very good and clean plus 5 minutes from centre. The only downside was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but they do have a very well stocked up mini bar. And the other no waiter service by the pool. Breakfast was fantastic.

We had a fantastic stay here and wish we stayed longer. Our room with a balcony was very clean, faced the sea and much larger than expected. I had a wonderful stay at Medusa Suites in Taormina. The location in the historic center is perfect, and the interior design is beautiful and stylish. The room was comfortable with plenty of room for two people and a good amount of luggage. The location was fantastic on the main Street although there was a little bit of street noise late at night but overall everything was excellent. It was so comfortable to stay in this place. Each three rooms has its own bathroom, all clean. The small but well equipped kitchen with coffee and some fetta biscottata, jams…was convenient. Only a couple of 100m to Porta Catania, one of two entrance gates to the town. You have to park the car at one of big car park, which was not cheap..

This was one of the more satisfying stays during my trip. The older manager was very professional; it was quite remarkable that he communicated with me via WeChat when there was no WhatsApp available. He introduced me to good restaurants nearby and how to get around, which was very thoughtful.

First, this hotel is not a hotel in the strict sense, and there is no 24-hour front desk (which caused us a lot of inconvenience later) Second, we booked the most expensive room type in this hotel, but it is very far from the sea and the volcano!
