Hotel Gennarino in Livorno

The hotel is actually an old villa with wonderful architecture, big spacious rooms and nice interior decorations. They even managed to install an elevator. They a parking place in the back of the villa, but the places are a little bit tight, so your auto paint is a the mercy of the attention of others. The villa is situated just across a big naval academy complex.
The hotel staff was nice and helpful.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size, but it could do with a little bit of renovating, especially the walls above the shower.
The breakfast was OK - ham, cheese, yogurt and sweets. The variety was not all that great, but it was fresh and for a quick breakfast it was enough. The coffee was very good and freshly made.
There is a small beach near the hotel, just at the end of the naval complex - Spiaggia del Felciaio - the beach is all pebbles, the space is tight and the entrance in the water was also very difficult because of the rocks. There were a lot of people sitting on chairs, including in the water. At the beach entrance you can find a small bar with refreshments. All in all not my kind of beach, but for some people it might work.

Disliked · Although the villa is very nice I found to price a little to high - I payed 290 Euros a night. For the price I think you can find something with more options.
I had to pay extra for parking - it was not mentioned on the site previously to making the booking and it costs about 15 Euros. As I said before, for that room price the parking should be free.
There are no restaurants in a reasonable walking distance, so you need a car.

Beautiful historic building with great rooms, comfortable beds, and excellent staff. It’s located near the beach and many wonderful restaurants. We will be sure to come back.

Beautiful old hotel near the water (but no ocean views). Bathroom was pretty luxurious and spacious for a mid-priced European hotel. We missed breakfast but apparently it might have been included in the price. The front desk made us dinner reservations for a cute café down the street. As much as I love that old world feel, our room was borderline kitschy and the AC didn't work very well. Overall pleasant experience in an historic building.

Exellent location for the purpose i had. Nice room, but no aircon. Very friendly reception staff and parking available on the ground.

I stayed in this hotel for one day and I had a good time. It is located on the seafront in Livorno so a lot of traffic but I still slept very well. Excellent well stocked breakfast. There is always parking in front in the evening. If I can give some advice, the areas need a bit of renovation, specifically the bathrooms
