Super convenient directly connected to the JR train station. Very clean. Only flaws may be compact space and heating is too strong, but not significant problems at all.

Fantastic location, the hotel is in the Yamagata Station itself. Zao Station is outside the hotel. We went to Ginzan Onsen via JR to Oishida Station., it just took 40 minutes. There is a shopping centre called S-Pal, very convenient. I will re-book the hotel when returning to Yamagata. Recommended 👍👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰

Richmond Yamagata Ekimae is the best. Price is best, service and cleanliness is superb. Free Soba, ice cream and soft drink on 2nd till 10:00pm. Highly recommended!

This hotel is located conveniently. There are railway stations and bus terminals near. You can use this hotel as a base and visit other places by public transport. Some travelers live in this hotel and go to Zao Onsen ski resort for skiing or snowboarding. There are a lot of places to eat or go shopping.

Nice hotel with a great location. There’s 7-11 within the hotel compound, and if not enough there’s Family Mart and Lawson opposite. There’s also a famous Yonezawa beef restaurant beside the hotel.  Room is spacious and toilet well designed. Love Daiwa properties, highly recommend it.

This hotel exceeded my expectations completely. The yamagata airport shuttle (from airport) has a drop-off point right in front of the hotel. The hotel is a 5minutes walk from yamagata station. There is a seven-konbini on 1F of the hotel building, and a toyota car rental directly across the street (1min walk). We went snowboarding at Zao but all accommodations were fully booked. So we decided to stay at yamagata. It’s great that we stayed at Yamagata as there are more restaurants and places to hang around. I stayed one night at this hotel, which is conveniently located near the train station and feels fresh and new. The on-site restaurant serves dinner, and we tried the sukiyaki — it was absolutely delicious and definitely worth a try, even if the price is on the higher side. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would happily choose this hotel again when visiting Zao.

Great stay for two nights. Excellent location with the bus to Mount Zao right downstairs and a 7-Eleven in the building. The hotel is well maintained, and cleaning is available upon request.

The room was clean and well-insulated, equipped with heating and an air purifier. Bathing in the large public bath was very comfortable, and there were coin-operated washers and dryers available. Nice and clean business hotel very near the Yamagata train station. Location is top notch! Basic hotel with everything you'd need. There is an artificial onsen on the 14th floor, which was good for a soak after a long day. Breakfast buffet was basic but tasty. Warm foods like rice, miso soup, bacon, stir fried veggies, etc were available in addition to some pastries and bread with butter and jams....

I think this hotel is in a great location and offers excellent service. However, it's a 20-30 minute walk from Yamagata Station, so if walking is too much for you, I recommend taking a taxi. It's a short walk if you stroll around town while sightseeing, so don't worry about that. Perfectly comfortable and in a very good location in the center of yamagata.

I booked a smoking room with twin beds. I was able to spend a comfortable time with my friend and was very satisfied.

There was hair on the shower head. There was a coffee stain on the surface of the kettle. I wonder if they didn't wipe it. It's a shame. There is a large public bath, but it's not very spacious and there were other families in it, so we gave up on using it.

The whole hotel gives an old impression. The air conditioning is centrally controlled and the temperature cannot be set. The bathtub is small and it's not possible to relax in it. I think there is a reason why it is cheap. There is a multi-story parking lot behind the hotel where you can park for 750 yen per night. I think the Washington Hotel in front of Yamagata Station is several times better.

The staff is very helpfull. Cek in and cek out process are easy. The room is compact. The scenery I can see from room window are amazing. I don't booking room with breakfast, so I can give a review about the food.

This hotel offers great value for money, especially during ski season. It's conveniently located not far from Yamagata Station, making it easy to get around.

Hotel is near to both the convenience stores and near food places that closes till late. Decent heat in the room during winter. Only issues probably is its just a basic living in a hotel kind of standard and amenities.

The hotel is 10min walk from the station, quite far especially when you have heavy lugguage. The room is pretty small and I can here very clearly the voice of other people talking, as well as they can hear me well if I talk. I tried to play a video, then I went outside and closed the door, yeahhh, I could hear the sound very well.

Not too far from Yamagata Station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Even received free goodies when checking-in! Breakfast leaves a LOT to be desired though - it was just a hot drink and some bread, nothing more. Check-out was incredibly smooth!

Overall ok but a bit old and the aircond was centralized system. That night we stayed in Heat mode. The whole night we felt hot and unable to breathe due to the room seems like no air and the window not allowed to open. Others still can accept with the valuables price.

This hotel is located just in front of Yamagata JR / Shinkansen station, it’s perfect for a family stay especially with childrens Becos of very short distance walk only from Yamagata station. Highly recommended Becos not only location is perfect, room are clean.

The bathtub's drainage was a bit slow, which was a minor inconvenience.

The rooms are a bit small; you'll need to book the largest one to get a separate lounge area. There's a parking discount available; just ask the front desk when you check in. It's only a 30-minute drive from the hotel to the ski resort.

The room was very large and spacious for a family of three. The hotel was a bit dated, but very comfortable. The beds were not the best, not very supportive on the back and shoulders. Overall, it was a comfortable two night stay in a very nice and convenient area with a lot of restaurant choices within 500 meters.

The location is a 15-minute walk from JR Yamagata Station, which is a bit far. However, it's a traditional Western-style luxury hotel with impressive decor. The rooms are very spacious with ample hanging space for coats. All necessary toiletries are provided. If you don't mind the location, it's a very good choice.

The room facilities are a bit old, but everything is very clean. It's about a 5-minute walk from Yamagata Station. From the second floor of the station, head towards the West Exit, then take the elevator directly to the 24th floor, where the front desk is located. The breakfast was also good.

Hotel located at hilltop adjacent to Zao ropeway station. It’s onsen is really good despite quite acidic. Don’t soak too long or it’ll be exceptionally itchy to your skin. Package dinner is ok.

We arrived late (20:15) due to temporary closure of Sendai Airport (tsunami warning), and obviously we were late for the hotel dinner after having to travel all the way up from Narita instead. I really recommend this hotel 10 points! The private room is 10 points cheap, the view from the room is beautiful, the hygiene is 10 points good, and the service is also very good 

The hotel rooms are spacious and the environment is comfortable. The large public bath has a nice environment and is divided into indoor and open-air baths. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious, the food quality is high, I will come again next time!

I stayed western room, but feel a little bit old inside, but all other comment area are designed warm and comfortable.

This is a lovely hotel. Its very close to the lift about 6mins walk. We got the full dinner and breakfast package. The meals are great, there was 3 set meals. But be prepared for very authentic Japanese. The staff speak little to no English, my partners small amount of Japanese got us through most situations, but we did resort to google translate a few times.

The hotel is really old. The tatami room is dark and didnt felt comfortable. The floor is rotten, the small piece rotten tatami will stick in your clothes, pants and socks. Outside the room is freezing especially the bathroom and toilet. The only good thing is location 2 min from the train station.

this is one of the good place i ever stay, the breakfast buffet was good, a lot of variety to eat. the room is clean anda quiet place to relax. the skii was also near it very affordable even playing for snow only. good for family stay, highly recommended.

You can take a taxi (5-6 minutes, 630-850 yen) to the entrance of Kaminodai before 18:00. You can leisurely watch the snow slopes and have breakfast every morning. It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the No. 4 cable car and 15 minutes to hike up and down the mountain. -20 minutes. The bosses are kind. Only the shared bathroom is too small for only four people.

The only down side about G-Square is the walk up from the bus station. All up hill & very steep. There is a middle street just off to the right of the bus station exit that is heated which is better than the steep street. Also a couple of public onsen's off it as well. Stayed here for 2 nights when I was visiting Yamagata prefecture and was overall a good stay. 5 mins walk away from the station, this hotel had all basic facilities and an amazing view (see pictures).

Stayed here for 6 nights. Very helpful staff - recommended places and also ordered taxi for us. The room is decent, not too great but it’s really clean. It’s an amazing price though, got it during new year holidays and got it at a great deal. Totally worth it. Would absolutely recommend if you don’t want a fancy hotel. Close to the station and other restaurants and convenience stores.
