Had another enjoyable stay at Yamagata Eki Nishiguchi Washington Hotel. This time I especially appreciated how quiet and peaceful the hotel was, making it easy to get a proper rest even after a long day of travel.
The room was clean and well-kept, with everything functioning properly and arranged in a practical way. It’s not large, but it feels comfortable and efficient for solo travelers or short stays.
What stood out on this visit was the consistency of service—staff were still very polite and attentive, and the check-in process was quick and smooth. The location near Yamagata Station continues to be a big advantage, especially for early departures or late arrivals.
Overall, a dependable and restful hotel that delivers consistent comfort and convenience. A solid choice whenever staying in Yamagata.

Location is excellent for transport and restaurants. Good for easy daily commute to Zao Onsen. The single room is tiny which was fine for me but if you have big suitcase or ski kit it will be cramped. The staff were very nice and stored my luggage all day on check out day at no cost. It’s not hard to find just follow the pictures it’s on 24th floor of obviously tallest building next to station. Bed was ok. If it’s under £40 it’s good value

The room facilities are a bit old, but everything is very clean. It's about a 5-minute walk from Yamagata Station. From the second floor of the station, head towards the West Exit, then take the elevator directly to the 24th floor, where the front desk is located. The breakfast was also good.

The hotel is right next to Yamagata Station, with a direct connection. You take the express elevator from the second floor of the building up to the 24th floor, where the front desk is located. The room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped. From the station's exit, you can walk to the East Exit where the bus terminal is, offering buses to Zao Onsen and Sendai. The food court and shopping area nearby are also very convenient.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay at this hotel. From the top floor, you get a panoramic view of Yamagata City. The absolute highlight was finally getting to play the grand piano in the sky lobby! There were also many Japanese high school students relaxing around. It was unforgettable, my first time playing for so many people without feeling nervous at all.

Excellent! Although the room was a bit compact, it had everything I needed, and the value for money was exceptional. The front desk even offered coffee in the mornings and bath bombs. It's super convenient, just a short walk from the Yamashina station.

Located on the top of a business building linking to the Yamagata station.

You won’t have to be worried even if it’s snowing or raining.

A side note to travellers from the hotter climate, the hotel doesn’t supply air conditioning during winter. Instead it has a small webbed facility that allows outside air to flow into the room. This slight chills the room. However during the day, the room will be super hot.

Initially we had a room facing the sun and when we checked in, the room is super hot. Called the customer service only to find out they didn’t have air conditioning during winter and we have to rent a fan from them.

After a slight communication, the customer service is kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room which is slightly cooler. Big props to the customer service lady! 5 stars service !
