The room offered a fantastic view of Mount Fuji, which was amazing! The interior is a bit dated, but considering the affordable price, it's totally acceptable. You definitely need a car to get here, and it's great that the hotel provides two parking lots.
If there's a major renovation, it should be a decent place to stay.
The breakfast was delicious, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, but the hot water in the bathroom was difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. It's a bit far from Lake Kawaguchi, so it's recommended for travelers with a car.
The room is very old and the wood is soundproof. Even when people in the next room are arguing, you can clearly hear every word.
The hotel has no dining facilities, plus the location is a bit remote, so it is inconvenient for travelers.
There is no shoe cabinet equipment in the 2/F bath, so the slippers of the guests are a bit confusing, and it is easy to wear other people's slippers wrongly, which may cause hygiene problems.
The room is large and spacious, the carpet is a bit old, the breakfast is very considerate, the individual Japanese set meal is served immediately after the reservation time, and hot coffee☕️ is provided.
The room on the 5th floor can directly see Mount Fuji, which is a good memory.

Great place, the experience was somewhat in between camping and glamping.
There are lots of choices for accommodation, everywhere from just a space to set up your own tent to ger/pao to even a small house/cottage. Whichever you’re staying at, there are a few toilets and dishwashing areas which are easily accessible. And hot water is available at these places!
There’s also a public bath that’s available...
Nice location for MT Fuji race, Good experiece and stay.
Basic camp site, not fridge or microwave. expected.
Communictation gap.. only find out where the bathroom on last day morning before check out.
A fun glamping experience. I really think the cabins could benefit from management staying in them overnight from time to time - things like no hooks to hang things, dark and smoky vestibules outside the cabins, pots that don't work on induction heat etc. could be resolved.
But overall a well-managed place in a nice location.
It was inconvenient not being able to go out because the main gate closes at 10 p.m., and my friend almost froze to death because the desk instructions, such as bringing a towel when using the heater or public bath inside the glamping facility, were insufficient, and I almost froze to death because I used the bath without a towel.
Great facilities and convenient but no view of Mt Fuji. Toilets could be cleaner given the price charged

The owner lady was incredibly kind. The room was comfortable and offered a view of Mount Fuji.
good location, had a picturesque view of mount fuji, easily accessible to train stations, was very clean despite the small space and lack of amenities
Clean, cute and comfortable rooms! And the host is the most sweet and friendly person! Thanks, Kozawa-san!
The guesthouse with a Japanese-style room is very conveniently located (close to the local bus and train stations). It was already chilly outside during our stay, so the room was also cold. However, two rooms have air conditioners that can be turned on for heating. In good weather, Mount Fuji is visible right from the window. Unfortunately, ours had no visibility at all.
The staff was wonderful. Very accommodating to our late arrival. The room was very clean and tidy. This was the most convenient location, very close to fujisan parking if you’re in town for hiking or sightseeing. Definitely recommend staying here!
Very hard mattresses. Clean, but bad smell from the bathroom

Such a perfect place to stay! We loved it. Great breakfast at nearby Cafe. Noise isolation between rooms could be better but no problems for us, visited during autumn. If you found this place in Fujiyoshida, book it! No doubt! We stayed in the annex.
I stayed at this fabulous property over the summer with my Son and I wasn’t disappointed.
The room (twin, with bathroom) was simply stunning. The largest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in!
The location was fantastic, staff friendly, Air Conditioning cold, room clean…..it was just perfect!
I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re climbing Mt Fuji or heading to Fuji-Q.
This was by far our best hostel experience ever - this place is really special. We stayed in one of their two private rooms, which was very spacious, clean and with a view on surrounding mountains. The hostel is located at the very famous viewing point on mount Fuji. I would absolutely recommend staying here and we hope to visit again soon!
This hostel was a gem. I am really glad to have found this place. The location is perfect, close to the train station and some attractions around Mt Fuji.
What I enjoyed most was the atmosphere, the decor and the shower products.
We also had breakfast included which was in an amazing cafe next door. Cafe latte was great. We got 2 free drinks pp as well.
I recommend staying here to anyone who is hesitating...
Just arrived and it is so lovely. The room is huge and well lit with a floor to ceiling window overlooking the street below. The beds are super comfy with very soft quilt covers, and the amenities are great. The concierge was very kind, polite, and helpful, even helping us with our luggage into our room. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Fantastic minimalist home stay vibes
My husband and I stayed at Hostel Saruya for one night as part of our honeymoon trip to Japan. We are an active couple in our early 30’s who were looking for a Japanese homestay experience near Mt. We were lucky to stay at this wonderful place! It’s very clean and cozy. Not only the place amazed us but the hospitality of the host. The host Yumie is super friendly and helpful; she gave us very useful recommendations. She also surprised us with a brunch basket for the Super Bowl game. Thank you!
Very nice host! She let us check in early, very nice and clean cabin.
If you want something comfortable, adorable, and affordable stay here. It was amazing.
Such a wonderful travel experience to live here!
Everything inside this small house. The host is so kind and very glad to help traveler ...and you can ride the free bike just near by the Mount Fuji, it’s really lovely scenery.
I really enjoyed my stay here, it was an interesting experience and I learned few things about living in small spaces with a group of people. The host was extremely helpful and kind, she helped us a lot with itineraries and other travel arrangements.
This is a great place to stay with free bike's.

It was a wonderful traditional experience at Shiki No Yado Hiiragi!
The room was clean, the toilet and shower were also clean. We enjoyed a lot this place.
It was fun to make or own futon in a tatami room. We were blessed to see Fuji-san from our room !
And after checking out my boyfriend lost his bag so all the adorable women who run this place were so careful and even call the cafe we went earlier...
Beautiful traditional guesthouse on lake yamanaka. The location is perfect to enjoy the little town and walk/bike around the lake. Super close to 7/11 store and quality restaurants!
Excellent location — situated right at the entrance of Lake Yamanaka. It’s only a 4-minute walk from the bus stop for local or express buses from Shinjuku Station. There’s also a 7-Eleven next door to meet your basic needs.
The bathroom facilities are shared, but I was lucky to have them all to myself for two days. For those who enjoy bathing, there’s a bath tub available.
The lake is right across...
Really really lovely owners. I went into the wrong room and made a mess but they didn't frett at all. It's not new if that's what you want. But the facilities are really well kept and sparkling. (I think they clean after each patron uses the shared shower, so it really just feels like a private one and doesn't feel shared at all) The parking is really convenient and the location is perfect just opposite...
Genuinely caring owners, who don't speak too much English. Yet that doesn't matter at all, communicating is still easy. I enjoyed my stay a whole lot.

The location is quite remote, which may not be convenient without a car. The private onsen facilities feel a bit old and could use some upgrading. Overall, it’s a quiet place, but expectations should be managed.
This hotel is incredibly authentic. The value for money is exceptional. Unfortunately, we had bad weather and couldn't see Mount Fuji from our room, but of course, that's not the hotel's fault.
The rooms are clean and cozy; you feel like you've stepped into the Shogun series.
The only downside was that the lobby was extremely cold. The hotel shouldn't skimp on heating the common areas.
The accommodation is in a very beautiful and quiet location, a calmer area than Kawaguchiko. We were unlucky, as the weather was bad for both days, so we didn't get to see Mount Fuji. That gives us a reason to come back again!
The room was clean and tidy, and the staff provided excellent service. The hotel's hot spring was also great. It's very close to Lake Yamanaka, and on a clear day, you can see both Mount Fuji and Lake Yamanaka very clearly.
This place is very close to Lake Yamanaka, and its off-street location makes it very quiet. If you're driving, you'll need to set your GPS to Yamanakako Post Office. The staff, especially the younger woman, was very polite and could communicate in both English and Mandarin. The whole place is a traditional Japanese ryokan with a bit of history. Don't expect it to be brand new, but it's clean and tidy...
Overall, a great experience with friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in a quad room on the first floor with a beautiful mountain view and a large garden. We could even see Mount Fuji from our room! The only minor drawback was that the shared bathhouse required reservations and each slot was only 40 minutes, which felt a bit rushed. It's OK. The scenery is OK. It's a bit far from the street, which makes it a bit troublesome to get on and off. It's more suitable for people with cars.
We stayed here after climbing Mt. Fuji!
When we asked the landlady about some light sightseeing for the next day,
she recommended Lake Yamanaka Flower Park!
There were lots of flowers in bloom 🌼🌸, a waterfall, and we were able to stroll through the greenery and soothe our tired bodies!

Dear owner, thank you for your hospitality the other day.
I was truly moved by the view of Mount Fuji from my room.

We stayed with the smelt experience plan. There was a smelt shop just a minute's walk away, which was convenient. Feeling so refreshed after my stay at Villa resort yumefuji! 🗻 I was incredibly lucky that Mount Fuji decided to show off its clear beauty during my entire visit. I love Yamanakako and have stayed around the lake 5 or 6 times over the past 4 years and at various different places. For me and my needs, this was the best place that I have stayed at so far. Very nice Japanese style room, and very authentic Japanese style bathhouse on the ground floor. It’s a bit rustic around the edges, but for the price in this lovely lake just by Fuji it’s a great value. Very nice check in staff
Cold Service and No elevator for large luggage and bad smells in lobby.

Overall, it was just okay. The host was quite stern; after my children made a little noise, he immediately warned us that if there was any loud noise, he would refuse our check-in.

Older accommodation which we liked a lot! The host was very nice, provided good trip recommendations. There are restaurants in the vicinity. Onsen was great, WiFi good, we had a good night’s sleep, there were not too many people, I would stay here again. Great view at Fuji nearby, just look at the picture :-)
I've been there with my family and relatives. I liked the cute exterior, and the rooms were simple, spacious, and open. The atmosphere was quite homey. The food was really delicious.
The owner is very warm, the house is very clean, I recommend you to stay here and feel the traditional Japanese life. There is a supermarket and station nearby, it is very convenient!
The owner was very nice; he was worried when he saw I hadn't returned late. The location is decent, close to a large supermarket and not far from restaurants. I only saw the owner working the whole time; he seemed quite busy. On the way to the station, we chatted about everyday things, and it was a pleasant experience. A suggestion for the owner: please provide more drinking water for guests at night...
Not particularly recommended. . . I think a hotel or a more convenient hotel or B&B closer to Lake Kawaguchi, within walking distance, or a redline bus stop is better.

Recommended. The host is super friendly, polite and kind. We had a relaxing stay, enjoyed the mat beds along the green tea and some gifts. Also, we had a ride back to the station.
I recommend this Ryokan 100%. Honestly, go there with your eyes closed! The owner is so kind and helpful. Incredible. He offered to drive me to the station. He's exceptional!! Sorry I didn't stay long, as I had some sightseeing to do in Japan. I promise, if I go back to Fuji, I'll come back and see you. You are exceptional ❤️
We enjoyed so much, simple but very authentic. Kieko was so nice to us, very well recommended, so relaxing and a bath/onsen by yourself. Ten points
We enjoyed the stay at a traditional Japanese guest house (Ryokan) a lot. The owner is very kind and want to please very guest at his house.
It might be not your comfortable stay but, It is a great experience u should make if visit Japans traditional places.
it was a family home giving a true Japanese living experience and the hospitality was fantastic
The owner was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to accommodate all of his guests and make the place feel like a real home from home. I learned more about Japanese culture in my short stay at this ryokan than I did in the whole of my 3 months stay. Although it is a bit of a walk from the centre, it is worth the walk due to the hospitality shown here, like for example, it was absolutely freezing...

Ryokan Nashimiya Onsen: Decent Onsen, Spacious Rooms (with a caveat!)
Ryokan Nashimiya Onsen offers a decent onsen experience, providing a relaxing and traditional Japanese bathing experience.
However, the rooms are quite large, which unfortunately made it difficult for the air conditioning to adequately warm the space. This could be a significant drawback, especially during colder months.
Thankfully...
Very comfortable. The location is very good. It's only 50 meters away from the bus. You can see Mount Fuji from the window of the room. It's very impressive. There is also a small hot spring to soak in. It's still a very good accommodation environment
The room is spacious and clean. The bathroom is shared. The shower is shared. Outside the window, you can see Uncle Fuji, which is very beautiful.
Although the room facilities are a bit old and the shared bathroom is not very clean, Mount Fuji is right outside the window, and the Kawaguchiko Bridge on the left side of the door is a great place to take photos of Mount Fuji.
The room is very big and you can see Mount Fuji
The hot spring is very comfortable and has complete facilities
There is a convenience store across the road which is very convenient
Great experience with this Ryokan that have onsen bath… unfortunately only can take bath from 1600-2100. Room is big and with Mt Fuji view. Superb!

Quite place to stay in yamanakako, owner and families are friendly
The surroundings are pleasant, right by Lake Yamanaka.
A very satisfying stop on my trip, Lake Yamanaka! Perfect scenery, excellent accommodations, and excellent meals. I highly recommend booking breakfast and dinner here. Swan Lake and the Hippo Bus Station are right outside, and I even encountered a deer. The teahouse owner was incredibly nice, driving us to a stunning viewpoint of Mount Fuji and giving us delicious peaches before we left. It's also...
The place was kept relatively clean, though some minor hygiene issues are perhaps to be expected in a guesthouse setting. There was no hot water upstairs for washing, so we needed to use the communal shower downstairs. This wasn't an issue though, as it was rarely crowded, allowing us to use it privately during off-peak times. Both meals provided were incredibly generous and delicious. Highly recommended
You won't find a better hotel near Lake Yamanaka. We got an authentic room in traditional Japanese style with a view of a small forest and a hotel pond with fish. The room is warm, with air conditioning, there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. Delicious breakfast, you can order dinner if you wish. The main attraction is the owner of the hotel (don't worry if you don't know languages, he...
The room is very simple and clean. From the facilities to the decoration, it is very Japanese. I saw many Japanese people patronizing. The boss is Japanese and can communicate in English. The boss also has a translator, so communication is not a big problem. Both meals are very rich, so rich that it feels like buying a meal and getting a free stay. The boss is very nice and helps solve many problems...
