Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen, Fujiyoshida1 / 30
9.4
Chubu region, Fujiyoshida, 9-1-18 Kamiyoshida higashi 🧭 Map
We stayed at Kaneyamaen and had a wonderful experience. Our room came with a private open-air bath, which made the stay even more special. Pros: 1) The hotel staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. There were evening activities such as a taiko drum performance and a bingo game, which added a fun and lively atmosphere. Although some staff members were not fluent in English, they quickly...
yummy dinner & breakfast!! goo service~
Nice Hotel.Good service and good view .
The staff who greeted us escorted us to our room and even observed our body types to provide the right size yukata. Every service member was smiling, and when we left, they saw us off at the door, waving until our car was out of sight, which was very touching. The Japanese aesthetic was evident everywhere.
The first night's dinner was very lavish, but the second night's was a bit underwhelming. The courtyard view is beautiful; you could easily spend half a day exploring it. Although it's an older hotel, the cleanliness and environment are excellent. The service is also on point. The hotel has shops, restaurants, a coffee shop, afternoon tea, an observation deck, and hot springs – all very comfortable
We are a group of four ladies who stayed in Suite 841, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience at Kaneyamaen. The breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from our room was truly unforgettable. The entire environment is serene and calming, and we felt warmly welcomed at every corner of the hotel. Everything is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kaneyamaen to...

Quite a good choice if planned to visit Mt. Fuji
The hotel room is spacious, amenities provided such as toothbrush, comb, cotton pads and cotton buds. They also provide greentea powder and oolong tea bag. This hotel also has a hotspring. Parking is free just opposite the hotel. 1 minute walking distance to Family mart. The view is great as we can see the Lake Yamanaka just right in front of the hotel and Mt Fuji is really pretty from this location...
Everything was great, except for the bed being too soft. Otherwise, everything else was perfect. The Japanese-style pajamas were a lovely touch and made for a new memory. This trip to Japan was also very enjoyable. By the way, the service was excellent! 👍
Mount Fuji view is at side window. Lake Yamanakako is in-front of window. Lake is just cross the road. Open air Onsen is wading point. Few step walk to Family market. Walking distance to Bus stop with routing to Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal Express Bus to Mishima
Nice location .See Fujisan from bedroom . Onsen also good , hot , full facilities but too much steam in Onsen room. Friendly staff at the reception but one of a staff in breakfast zone not quite nice.
Quite nice hotel. Quite convenient. Although it looks old, it still clean enough

From the welcome maple muffin and brown rice hot tea, to the lovely anniversary note in the room, the staffed welcomed us in as if they welcomed us home. The room has an incredible view of mt Fuji. From the instructional iPad, to light optional changes, sauna, and onsen. Great location to slip away!
To start the service is what made me write this review. Yamaguchi and yui were incredibly helpful in multiple regards there is service then there is service. The views are incredible my only advice if you book a suite is to book the lowest level floor so you can see mt fuji from your bath! Unfortunately the law requires they have a wall of a certain height for outdoor baths if its visible from the...
I stayed in a suite room with a sauna that offered a view of Mt. Fuji. The room itself was very stylish, but the view was truly impressive. In addition, the sauna and the relaxation space afterward were absolutely fantastic! Yamanaka Lake is not as popular compared to Lake Kawaguchi, however, I would say, “It’s worth coming here just for this.” Thank you very much for your warm hospitality. You truly...
When I tell you I had the stay of a lifetime here I mean it! I am pretty well travelled too. Everything from check in to check out was impeccable! The welcome tea, the carrying of bags to our room, the room itself was incredible. Dinner although not typically Japanese was served in a brasserie style tasting menu format. I’d say you’d need to be open minded and somewhat of a foodie to truely understand...
Spectacular! We stayed one night in the room with a private sauna: pictures don’t do it justice. Even the lighting system is top notch! And the view…. Perfect! Staff was super friendly and foreigners like myself are welcomed! They even waved us goodbye! 5/5
Very nice view, comfortable room and friendly staff.

Right outside the hotel is Lake Yamanaka, which is quieter and more affordable than Lake Kawaguchiko. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants around that stay open late, so you don't have to worry about finding food at night. This means there's no real need to book dinner with your stay. The buffet dinner wasn't anything special, though the fruit was quite good. It's a bit of a distance to Fuji-Q Highland...
Great stay! The room was spotless and very tidy, and the hot springs were incredibly relaxing – super satisfied. The staff were all really warm and proactive, and their English was good, which made communication easy. The location is super convenient too, right where the bus drops you off.
This hotel is a bit old-fashioned but generally well-maintained. Many people take photos of a Japanese-style gate, but that's actually not part of the hotel; it belongs to a private residence next door. There were a lot of tour groups staying here. The dinner buffet was decent. Most of the front desk staff are from Southeast Asia and speak good English.
The surroundings are beautiful, with Lake Yamanaka and Mount Fuji being stunning.
This hotel is overall quite good. In the morning, I could see Mount Fuji from my room, which made the stay truly worth it. The hotel also has an onsen that is free for hotel guests. In addition, there is plenty of parking available, which is very convenient.
Hotel is good and affordable. Can view the fuji inside the hotel. Will definitely come again

Not a bad hotel after all. All the basic is there and is somewhat clean. Location is good. Bus stop is just right infront of the hotel easy. Nice view too
The room offers a direct view of Mount Fuji the moment you open the window. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style. The room itself is a bit small, and the bathroom entrance has a raised threshold, so be careful when going in and out. I wasn't paying attention and accidentally tripped.
Need to call from Kawaguchiko Station for free shuttle pick up. Go to the Tourist Information Center to ask to call for you or there is a public phone at the station cost 10 yen per min. Free shuttle to the station as well. Yukata, toiletries are all self service at every floor in front of the lifts. This hotel has hot spring. Drinking water can be refilled at the ground floor beside the hot...
Great value for money. It's just over 900 meters from Kawaguchiko Station, and you can contact the front desk for pick-up and drop-off when you arrive or depart (they have staff who speak Chinese). The mountain-view rooms offer a view of Mount Fuji from one side of the window. The breakfast was also very good, and the shuttle bus driver, Sam, and other staff provided excellent and attentive service
I was lost in snow when finding the hotel entrance using Google navigation, luckily I met a nice and friendly resident who helped me to ask and fetched me to hotel. This was my first try on tatami style hotel, nice experience.
10mins walk to Kawaguchiko station. Getting the shuttle bus was troublesome, I’d rather walk. Onsen was a great touch, worth trying if you are not visiting a full-fledged onsen. Room was clean and comfortable. Yukata, comb, razor provided.

I forgot to leave a review here because the trip was so hectic but this hotel was super nice. We had a view facing the lake and it was beautiful in the morning. The food was plentiful and delicious, although some of my friends were put off by the more adventurous items haha. Also the service is so great. Our rental car’s battery died, and they helped us get up and running with one of their staff member...
I don’t usually spring for this kind of luxury but this was a special trip for us. No regrets! Excellent food (honestly we had a hard time finishing everything, the portions are generous). Stayed in one of the lake view rooms with the tatami and Japanese style bedding, which was lovely. Recommend booking the private onsen; the view of Mt Fuji is worth it alone. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
We stayed here for three days and two nights, and we were very satisfied with our experience. It truly felt like a five-star hotel. From the front desk service to the hotel facilities and the quality of the food, everything was excellent and well taken care of. The staff were friendly and professional, and the overall stay was very comfortable. We only have one small suggestion — it would be great...
We absolutely loved our stay here! The staff was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Our dinner host Miki was also lovely and very warm to our daughter! The onsen was a gem and so relaxing and very clean. Never felt too busy and you can book the private bath too. The open air was great! We also enjoyed the rooftop foot bath with a view of mt Fuji! The Kaiseki dinner course was definitely a highlight...
The entire experience with this hotel from beginning to end was phenomenal. The attention to detail, mesmerizing views, impeccable rooms, and multitude of amenities contributed to what I can only describe as a once in a lifetime moment. Enjoying the rooftop foot bath while watching the sunset next to Fuji will forever hold a place in my heart. The beautifully crafted personal hot baths allowed for...
Great view from the room. Very well maintained facilities and thoughtful staff. Clean and well stocked bath houses. Enjoyed the hot spring in our room with the view of Fuji.

Extraordinary service and staff are so helpful. The room is spacious and can see a lake view. Hotel provide free shuttle bus to station. Dinner and breakfast are buffet and food is good
A traditional Japanese-style hotel with an amazing location right by Lake Kawaguchi. Many rooms and the onsen offer beautiful views of Mount Fuji, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The biggest highlights are the stunning Fuji view, good breakfast/dinner buffet, helpful staff, and convenient shuttle service from the station. The rooms feel slightly dated compared to newer resorts, but they are clean...
The service was incredibly attentive. Even though our room didn't face Mount Fuji, the lake view was still breathtaking. And the huge glass window at breakfast offered a stunning, close-up view of Mount Fuji – absolutely gorgeous!
I was very satisfied with this hotel. From the welcome to check-in and the room facilities introduction, everything was handled excellently. We just relaxed on the sofa, and our luggage was sent directly to the room! The lobby thoughtfully provided tea, coffee, and snacks. The room was just as large and spacious as shown in the pictures. Although we had to change rooms due to availability issues, they...
Great accommodation for Mt Fuji viewing. Get the dinner and breakfast included. Dinner spread is excellent to sample all sorts of Japanese cuisine. In room onsen is amazing experience.
Although this hotel is on the pricier side, the overall experience was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a station for the Fuji Lake sightseeing bus, making it easy to get around. It's also close to the Lake Kawaguchiko boat pier and ropeway entrance. The lake views from the room were superb, and while the view of Mount Fuji wasn't the absolute best, it was still quite close...

My partner and I had the loveliest stay at Ooike Hotel. From the moment we stepped in, Staff was friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. It was our first time at an Onsen, and the staff explained the procedure and etiquette. My partner has tattoos, and we were excited to be able to use both the public baths and the private, which we booked for a small extra fee. The included...
Nice and clean room, tiny but full functioned. A lot of caring details and a full of options tasty breakfast. Didn’t choose to dine at the hotel but I would love to. Very nice Onsen with views of Mt. Fuji. Good parking area and easy access to some nice spots for sunrise viewings. I will come back next time if I managed to book earlier for the Fuji view room.
We loved the lobby area for guests, the availability of snacks and drinks, and the onsen, which was wonderful with an outstanding mountain view. The second onsen was outdoors and truly magical. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options. The lobby ambience was also wonderful. Unfortunately, we did not like our room. It was extremely cold, and to make it warmer we had to turn on the...
Rooms look less luxurious than the pictures, but still quite comfortable. The hotel structure is modern and good looking and the staff is kind and helpful. I do recommend. The view to Fuji is worth it, but if you cannot afford it, it is a short walk to Lake Kawaguchi to have the unique view.
Very good place to stay with view on Fuji san Delicious breakfast Onsen very relaxing Best service
First of all, all the staff are extremely kind and very efficient. Always ready to welcome you with a warm smile! The hotel is pretty nice, the free drinks area situated on the first floor is a nice perk! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.

The email correspondence is not good, but when you arrive there, everyone is so amazing and extra friendly! There was a free pick up from the station and then daily shuttles in the morning. It was perfect for us. Expensive but excellent service. Breakfast was super amazing!
Enjoyed our stay at Fuji Onsenji Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the onsen was very good and relaxing. Breakfast was a highlight felt like a private omakase experience, beautifully prepared and delicious. The only downside is the location, which is a bit less convenient, but overall a pleasant and memorable stay.
["Staying at Yumekadan with the kids was so worth it! The environment is absolutely stunning, and the open-air bath offers views of Mount Fuji. The room is nice. But It used to be more impressive when we stayed at this ryokan 5-6 years ago. Somehow we felt like their service dropped significantly. Everything are more strict for example daily cleaning time is 11.00 -11.30 only and cannot be postpone. Check out time is 11.00 and then we decide to chill a bit at the lobby before leaving ( around 11.20 ) they politely asked us to leave by...
The Japanese-style room was very spacious and comfortable, and it even came with a small private onsen. The housekeeper was very welcoming during the day. However, since we checked in late, all the staff had already left, leaving only a security guard to handle our check-in, and there was no one to greet us.
I really loved it here and would definitely come back if I get the chance. It's incredibly quiet, almost as if there are only 11 rooms in the whole hotel. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and each room is assigned a private breakfast room. The staff are super warm and patient. Plus, there's free alcohol and Starbucks coffee in the hotel lounge area. Just a heads-up, many hotels in Japan charge...

The hotel offers a delightful view of Mount Fuji from the window, with no blind spots. However, the room was smaller than expected, making it difficult to fully open a suitcase. The breakfast and dinner were both delicious; I'd consider staying here again just for the food. The onsen experience was just okay, and you need to bring your own towel as none are provided. There were drones flying around...
Facilities: It's an old hotel, but it has everything you need. Dinner was good, and breakfast was typical buffet quality. Cleanliness: The room had a strong odor, like body odor or perhaps an old wooden smell. Environment: The view of Mount Fuji from the window was absolutely superb. Service: The private onsen was nice, I just didn't manage to book it for the morning. However, the public onsen was...
Excellent service, convenient location, and shuttle bus available.
If you can't book a bath at this popular hotel, don't come. The location is great, the dinner is average, the service is stiff, and it's not worth the price.
This is the second time staying here. You can contact the hotel for pick-up at Hekou Lake Station. The semi-buffet dinner was rich and surprising, the staff were warm and polite, and the toilet was updated compared to before and had a drying function (≧ω≦)/I will come again next time.
Except that the price is a bit expensive, the location and view are first-class. I am very satisfied and the dinner is also very good.

Great service! Dinner and breakfast were deliciously good!!! Will come back again!
The location isn't the most convenient, but the hotel offers a shuttle bus service, though with limited hours. It would be more convenient if you're driving, as there's plenty of parking available. The room was spacious with a great view of Lake Kawaguchiko. You can even see Mount Fuji from the observation deck upstairs. The front desk staff speak English, which was helpful for communication. Bus stop located right in front of the hotel entrance however with very little frequency. Hotel does provide free shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station.
This hotel isn't bad overall, but for the price, you could probably find something better!

Magnificent. Owners are soft spoken and polite, rarely seen but appear immediately when summoned by the bell at reception. Immaculate location with a beautiful rooftop terrace view of Fuji. Free drinks and snacks at all times. Free bikes to use during your stay there and of a very high quality. This is the very best deal in town.
This is a 150years old hotel. But it is well cared and the view from the room is stunning! The fuji just in your face! 😆
Good Fuji scenic view from room window. Free onsen with good facilities.
Staff were amazing, the hotel, room and garden immaculate with the food from the restaurant and experience to have. Bonus was a large smoking room with a view of Mt Fuji
I had an amazing stay at Fuji Guesthouse - staff were so helpful and attentive and gave me all the information I needed for the area and to climb Mount Fuji. The bikes are free to hire so had a great cycle around the lake too. The rooftop was a lovely place to chill with an amazing view of Fuji. It was less social than other places but good for downtime. Would highly recommend.
After years of traveling, I have to say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. First, The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The gentleman was very kind and allowed me to check in early at no cost, and the lady, seeing that I was having trouble with the bike stand, explained everything to me, both in very good English. This was our second times here,we love the hotel location so much. But we thought that the dinner was a bit disappointing for this trip. I love the September 2025 dinner more than this latest staying .
Great hotel and facilities. Nice location to see Fuji mt. Friendly and polite staff.
Facilities: I stayed here in 2018, and this time around, it feels pretty much the same, very well-maintained. Dinner: There's a wide variety of food, more than you can possibly eat. The only downside is that the sukiyaki beef has been replaced with pork, which isn't as good. Everything else is fine though.
The views were definitely worth it, and the value for money was pretty good. There weren't many facilities, just a single ping-pong table, so evenings were a bit dull. Dinner and breakfast offered good value. A convenience store was missing. The 10 AM check-out was too early and felt rushed.
I managed to book a hot spring room that someone else had canceled. It's essential to leave your booking info on their official website; they'll send you an email alert when a room becomes available. I upgraded from a regular 3200 JPY Japanese-style room to a hot spring room for only 700 JPY more (including tax) within a week – the experience was completely different! On top of that, I got to see Mount...
