Naoko made the experience really enjoyable for us: having great conversations in the middle of traditional Japanese course (excellent taste of everything we had) was a great boon for us. She even translated the entire menu into English for us!
The room was beautiful (wifi is not the best, but that's hardly the reason you visit a ryokan) in the midst of well tended gardens. It will give us a lot of good memories to cherish. There are also two public baths available. We can't recommend this ryokan enough!

As the name suggests, the food is excellent. I was amazed by the flavor of the broth in the bowl, then when I put the ingredients in my mouth and bit into them, I was again astonished by the sensation of the broth filling my mouth. The portion was also perfect, and the rice I couldn't finish was made into rice balls. The inn's rooms are divided into two large rooms, each with a tatami corridor, toilet, and bath. Meals are eaten at the table, and then the table is pushed to the other room, and futons are laid out in the other space. While there are baths in the rooms, I recommend the large communal bath. The men's and women's areas switch at 8 p.m., but only one of the baths has an open-air bath. There were not many people there, and the water temperature was just right. I thought everything was great, but there was one thing that bothered me. When I woke up at night, I noticed the constant sound of the boiler or something starting up, then shutting off, then starting up again, which I found quite distracting. I think tranquility is also an important element of an inn. If you're interested, please consider it.

The small portions of delicious food in the course menu were fantastic, and I was completely full. Breakfast was also superb. I enjoyed the spacious and comfortable Japanese-style room with a futon. I also loved the atmosphere of staying at a traditional inn. This is a place I would like to visit again in a different season. Wonderful!

Had one of the best ryokan experience at this place! Amazing dinner with the local famous Omi beef and locally grown Omi rice. The staff who was serving us was very nice and treated us really well throughout our stay. The public onsen is clean and spacious.
While this is a 100+ year old place, they maintained it really well without any weird odors like what I’ve experienced in other places. Kudos to the hotel staffs and management for a really great place. Thank you!
