Quiet oasis The food an amenities were wonderful. The atmosphere of the hotel is quite nice, and they have very uniqhe sourvebirs you can purchase. It would be perfect for a quite retreat.
Fun to stay here and experience a traditional Onsen/Japanese style room. Very quiet area. Appreciated the shuttle to train station.
The slope is tough on the body. It's a shame there's no shower. There was a lot of hair in the bathtub, which was disgusting.
It's a good place to just relax by yourself. Please improve the noise of the ventilation fan in the bathroom.
You can enjoy reading 24 hours a day. You can also enjoy the hot springs at night, which gives you a sense of freedom. The renovation is wonderful🥰 The food is too salty for me…
There is nothing around, but it was a hideaway-like place. It was relaxing. It seems to have been renovated, and it was a sophisticated hot spring inn. It was clean and extremely comfortable. It is not very convenient for transportation, but there is a shuttle from Yugawara Station, so it should not be a problem.

Nice hotel and Onsen but a bit too pricey for what you get. Might be better in the summer and with a group.
My SO and I stopped here on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto and it's a great way to escape the big city. The reason it isn't solidly a 5 star experience is because the night we went they weren't serving food (we ended up going to a local sushi restaurant which I would recommend even more, but that is coincidental). Overall a great experience, though. Also tattoos seem to be allowed (I have an saw another...

Hotel staff service is very good.  The location near to station but very steep slope way  better take taxi traffic between station/hotel. Hotel room key digital type which was not working good    Finally hotel staff gave metal key to open door
The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. I barely ran into any staff or other guests during check-in or throughout the hotel, which made it feel very quiet, almost a bit eerie due to the lack of people. I walked to the hotel from the shopping street, and it was a very steep hill. With the rain and my luggage, it was quite a struggle on foot. I'd recommend a taxi if you're not driving. It...
The Japanese-style room was very clean and nice. There was no TV in the room, but there was one in the multipurpose hall, so it wasn't a problem. There were no children around, so I was able to relax. The hot spring was just the right temperature, and although it was a small bath, there were no other guests, so I was able to relax.
The clean facilities include a kitchen, microwave, cutlery, and cups in the rooms. There's even a drum-type washing machine with detergent and a drying rack for drying your clothes. Being able to choose your swimsuit and rash guard was a big help! Since it's on a hill, I don't recommend walking from the station.
I loved it, the hotel was very clean, the room was very comfortable, with a modern style.
I was able to enjoy the fun places in Atami.

Good business hotel located close to Atami station. Buffet breakfast was quite disappointing with limited amount of food and small space.
Overall a good experience, but preferred more non-smoking rooms
The location is super convenient! It's a five-minute walk to Atami Station, another five minutes to the ocean, and then five more minutes to the beach. Rooms with a double-digit number on higher floors offer stunning ocean sunrise views. Excellent value for money!
Super convenient, just a three-minute walk from Atami Station. The simple breakfast is definitely filling! Cleanliness is also good. You can't expect too much from a budget hotel! Overall, it's excellent value for money!
The room was clean and tidy. The hotel is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from Atami Station, just turn left after exiting, and you'll pass a FamilyMart on the way. Breakfast offered a good variety, and the hotel also has a public bath.
Hotel has great location, really close to train station and convenience store. They also have luggage delivery to other hotels, that’s great

The room was well-cleaned, the price was reasonable, and there were no problems. I'm glad I had a comfortable stay! I'd like to use it again when I go to Atami. Thank you!
The hotel boasts a convenient location, just a short walk from the station, and offers excellent value for money. Breakfast, which included tea, coffee, and bread, was satisfying. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable. The only downside was being asked to show my residence card. Since this is not required for foreigners residing in Japan, I refused to present it.
This is an old-fashioned business hotel. The rooms are clean. The bathtub is small, so larger guests should be aware of this. I stayed here during a three-day weekend, so it was good value for money. There are many convenience stores and restaurants nearby.
Walking distance to train station and many food selection nearby
Very cost-effective, suitable for solo travelers.
It is a little far from the railway station. You can get there by walking a little further through the street. You need to hand in the key to the front desk when you leave the hotel. Two square breads are provided for each person for breakfast, and coffee and tea are also provided.

Convenient location (right next to the bus stop and sightseeing cruise departure), Mac the host was friendly and very helpful and spoke good English.
MaC was amazing as a host. We loved his hospitality, friendless and advice. His accomodations were simple, clean and sufficient for our 1 night stay. Breakfast was yummy. Thank you MaC!
A very personal, family-run place with exceptionally kind owners who really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and included. The host is chatty, speaks good English, and even took everyone out in the morning to see a great view of Mount Fuji — a lovely gesture, though maybe a bit much if you prefer privacy or a quieter stay. The property itself is older and simple, with limited amenities...
Hakone 💎 Gem Mr. Mack is very accommodating, shares knowledge of Japan, guided us with traditional Japanese etiquette, food was good, water from Mt. hakone is better than the bottled water! 😀 place is bus accessible, close to the boats, this place is clean, and hospitable.
The room was a decent size and clean, though very cold if you turned the aircon off.The gentlemen at the front of house was a joy, very witty and so helpful, planned our route to the airport for us.
It is not easy to find fluent English speaking person but here you feel in home. You will get all tips to get around and all is relevant.

The room was spacious and clean, and the food was delicious. They provided futons for us which was convenient, and I was grateful that they could store my luggage for us. It was a bit of a walk from the station, but it was fun as it was close to the Ginza shopping district and the sea.
i enjoyed the time here. nice atmosphere and food
It took me about 15-20 minutes to walk from Atami Station. There is a bus, but I arrived late on the first day, so I walked instead. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes. The location is pretty good. There are small restaurants and the beach just outside. You can also walk to Hatsushima Pier or the Atami Castle Ropeway. But I think the hotel itself is just average.
This is a quintessential, elegant, and immaculately clean Japanese onsen ryokan. The stay comes with dinner and breakfast, both thoughtfully served directly to your room. We were treated to traditional Japanese seasonal cuisine, a culinary and visual delight, presented on exquisite tableware. For added luxury, high-end Sekkisei skincare products are available in the onsen area.
We were very satisfied with the excellent in-room dining and the attention to detail in the food!
The environment is elegant, the room is clean and tidy. I especially recommend staying in a room with its own Fenglu. The meals are rich and the waitress has a very good attitude. I recommend everyone to come and experience it.

It's a good place, for the first time I managed to live in a traditional Japanese style, I liked everything, I advise everyone!
I originally thought that the Hakone Onsen Hotel was too expensive and the cost-effectiveness of traveling alone was not high, so I chose a youth hostel. The experience of 3 days and 2 nights was more than I expected. An old man received me when I checked in that day. Although he had an accent in English, it did not affect communication and understanding at all, and there was no communication difficulty...
Clean and sanitary, with hot spring facilities. The service was excellent Suitable for solo travel But the location is really bad There are only one or two buses passing by in an hour, otherwise you have to walk up the mountain for 10-15 minutes.
This is a wonderful hostel with an indoor and outdoor Onsen. It has a lovely living area and a well kitted out kitchen with free tea and coffee. The staff are all very welcoming and very helpful. My two teenage girls loved staying here. Just to note, it is an uphill walk from the train station. There is a bus but it is not very frequent.
Hot spring hotel. Not many people in winter. It is very convenient to walk from Odakyu Line. It is very convenient to have Hakone Ticket. The outdoor hot spring is great.
Booked this onsen hostel last minute because I needed a room with a toilet. I didn’t try their onsen, but the bathroom was okay—though there aren’t many amenities provided. They do offer laundry service, which you can enquire about. There’s a lounge area available, though I didn’t use it during my stay. Cozy guesthouse in Hakone, ideal for couples or to travel alone. Comfy matress and bedding and facilities are very clean too. Friendly owners and staff. Highly recommended, would visit again :-)
I chose this hotel because of its price and proximity to the station, but it was even more comfortable than I expected. The staff were friendly, I was allowed to bring my towels into the hot springs, and the beds and shared showers were well-cleaned. Overall, it was a great stay!
The hostel was really clean, and the beds were surprisingly spacious. Every area was spotless. The lady at the front desk was super friendly; we chatted a lot, and she even helped me plan my itinerary. She even said goodnight to me when she saw me still in the kitchen in the evening. A really great experience! 👍
A unique place. It's a small box, and while it's not far to anywhere in Hakone, it's a steep climb to the hotel. The hot water taps are a bit odd. The girl at reception is very friendly and speaks excellent English, and explains everything in detail. I asked to reserve a hot spring, and she agreed without any problem (everything was booked in the end).
Facilities: Outdated Cleanliness: Meets standards Environment: Actually very good, with a great atmosphere. The beds are the largest I've ever stayed in; four people could easily sleep in one. Service: Average. You can ask someone to help with your luggage, but it's a bit awkward to ask female staff for help. Most things are self-service, but there's a kitchen available, and you can also order food...
The environment was fine, and the facilities were complete. However, the blankets smelled strongly of body odor, which was awful. The quality of the bedding needs improvement.

The bathroom is shared! There's a sink in the room, but going to the bathroom in the early morning can be inconvenient. If you don't know the location, it might be difficult to get there. Buying a local free pass is convenient. The food is so delicious that it's worth all the inconveniences mentioned above. Highly recommended!
Great service and good value for money on the food! 👍 The bathroom is a bit old though. 🙃
The building felt a little worn, but everything was exceptionally clean and functional. We liked our traditional Japanese room. I was afraid that we'd be cold there in November but we managed to heat the room really well with the AC. We could easily book a private onsen room just for us upon arrival. Nice and very helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast were huge!!! with lots of different dishes to try
Very satisfied, such a historic hotel is in a great location. The food is good and the accommodation is also good and satisfactory 👍
This is a surprisingly old hotel. While many of the amenities are dated and some rooms lack private bathrooms, my personal experience makes it highly recommended. I stumbled upon a deal on Ctrip and booked a room with an indoor hot spring bath and private bathroom. Each room has a different name. We stayed in Chidori, which was on the second floor without an elevator, so we had to carry our luggage...
The building is old, but it's close to the bus stop and easy to find. The service is excellent, and everyone is very friendly. I was surprised to see alcohol included in the welcome drink, but I was even more impressed by the all-you-can-drink option at dinner. I had a very enjoyable and relaxing time.

We checked in after 9 PM, and the hotel receptionist had someone help us with the check-in. The hotel's main onsen (hot spring) is closed until 10 PM, but we could still use the small underground bathroom next door afterwards. Although it's small, it was more than enough for the four of us, and the onsen water was excellent; we felt very comfortable afterward. The hotel room was also nice; it was spacious...
This was a good place to stay: nice rooms, nice breakfast (I didn't have dinner), a central location that was still quiet, nice indoor hot spring. Somehow I never timed the outdoor hot spring right, which is disappointing. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Not a "luxury" experience, but a simple enjoyable one.
We had an amazing stay here! The staff were so welcoming and hospitable, answering all of our questions and helping with our bags. They also helped us with suggestions on what to do around Hakone. Very friendly and helpful reception. He drove us to the station. Also the lady in the restaurant. The food was excellent. Lot of fresh seafood. Sauna and public onsen were great. We also got timeslot for private onsen. The location is about 10 minutes walk from station but quite hilly road. It was a nice walk when we did not drag our luggages. View from our room was excellent
The hotel does not provide body towels, and you have to pay 500 yen for one. Shared toilet, and you have to wait to go in the cubicle. The ambient is a little creepy 😅
We stayed here to be close to the train station. I guess we didn't realize it was a double bed room with no private bath (it turned out to not be busy, so it wasn't a problem). But no bathroom amenities available, no towels and no clear place to take a shower. The beds were ridiculously hard (I've slept on grounds while camping that were softer than these beds). Staff was very pleasant to interact...
It was a room-only stay. It would be perfect if they increased the number of shared toilet stalls! Also, I wish there was Wi-Fi in the rooms.
For a one-night stay package that included two meals, all-you-can-drink alcohol, and a private onsen, it was absolutely flawless. The service was very friendly, although their English was a bit limited. Definitely the best value for money in Hakone Yumoto!
The room was a decent size. The pajamas provided were very comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! The subway station is right across the street, just a stone's throw away. The area is very quiet, and a morning stroll around the Imperial Palace was lovely.

I use this hotel several times a year for fishing and work trips. It is crowded even on weekdays because there are discount plans. Credit cards are not accepted and payment is made in cash. We stayed here over the New Year holidays, and each meal was artistically presented and was excellent in terms of seasonality, local flavor, taste, and quantity. As for the room, I recommend choosing a non-smoking room with a private toilet.
Traditional Japanese-style rooms, the hotel also has hot springs, dinner and breakfast are very exquisite, very good 👍🏻 Yugawara is a small hot spring town, by the sea, with a very good location, between Hakone and Izu. It is just not as famous as Hakone, and there are relatively few tourists, so it is quiet and peaceful.
I booked a total of two rooms based on the previous reviews; overall satisfied! It’s the closest to Atami, so I took the Yuyu bus near the station to Atami Castle and checked it out!
There is no bathroom in the room, but you can take a bath and soak in the public bathhouse. It is far from the subway station and it takes a lot of effort to walk there, but there is a shuttle bus to Atami during the day. The staff are very friendly, including grandparents and middle-aged employees.
I made a reservation right away after watching the drama Minato Boss Coin Laundry. I was asking about the drama, but it was a little disappointing that the staff didn't know. We enjoyed relaxing in the large public bath and the open-air hot springs. For dinner, we were grateful for the chef's thoughtful preparations, with dishes such as abalone and shark fin. For breakfast, we enjoyed delicious dishes such as filleted horse mackerel and dashi chazuke. I heard that the person in charge of our rooms is still young and inexperienced, but I could see the landlady's guidance...
I participated in this hotel as part of a training trip for an alumni association. I think the atmosphere is good for socializing. The bath had a variety of amenities, which was nice. The open-air bath was a little small, so it was difficult to enjoy the view outside. However, the fact that there is no nighttime bathing time is a plus, as there are times when you just want to take a bath in the middle...
The other day, my friend and Megumi Onyado took care of me! The food was delicious and there was a wide variety of items, and everyone was delighted! The breakfast was delicious and I couldn't finish eating a lot of items. Also, the young lady in charge of the room was very kind and explained the dishes carefully! My friend was also very satisfied! One disappointing thing is that there was no front...
Anyway, I thought the customer service was wonderful. The food was of course delicious, the rooms were clean, and the hot springs had an open-air bath. It was a young staff member, but I was able to spend a really good time because I was able to serve customers with great sincerity, from explaining the dishes to guiding the room. I'm just grateful.
It was very comfortable and I had a relaxing time. There was an open-air bath and a terrace in the room, and my elderly parents were happy to spend a relaxing time. In-room dining is also very delicious. My parents and I were a little too many. It was a nice meal though. The room was barrier-free and very relaxing. I would love to hear from you again!

I stayed at this hotel for a solo trip over the weekend. It's an older establishment, so it's a bit dated, but still nice. It's right in front of the ocean, with a panoramic ocean view from the balcony. When I arrived at Manazuru Station, there were no taxis available, so I waited 25 minutes. If you're taking a taxi, I recommend arriving at Manazuru Station a little earlier. On the way back, the weather...
The room and food were good. However, if they're offering a solo plan, I wish they'd consider dining options for solo travelers as well. I felt uncomfortable being shoved in the middle of families and couples. The view from the balcony was amazing. The hot spring, while small, was adequate. However, the sauna hours are set to completely favor women. Men are only allowed in between check-in and before...
I loved it! ◎ The last thing I'll mention is the view from my room. (The photo is a longer shot from the third floor.) The ocean view rivals those of hotels in Okinawa and Hawaii, and since it was the right time of year, we even got to see the Atami fireworks. The pool (over 10, no play equipment allowed) is free to enjoy, and while the building and facilities are a little dated, each room (we stayed...
I visited for the hot spring. It is located a little before the town of Yugawara, heading from Tokyo to Yugawara. The sea is right in front of you, and there are no convenience stores nearby. My room was on the second floor, but you could see the sea and it felt like a resort. However, there was only a slight partition between the rooms, so you could see everything, and you couldn't relax on the chairs...

very good service and clean good food
The hotel is older but full of Japanese style. The food is good. The onsen is excellent, but be aware of the changing times. The location is quite remote, with a long, steep road. We recommend driving a car or taking a taxi.
It's very good. The owner of the hotel is very kind. He personally took us to familiarize ourselves with the hotel facilities. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The hot spring experience was also very good. You just have to calculate the bus time, otherwise you have to walk two kilometers from Yugawara Station to the hotel. Attached are pictures of the hotel restaurant and the Yugawara fireworks...
The service specialist has a great attitude and great language communication.
The food is delicious. Luxury at night and in the morning. The baths are all different so you can enjoy it without getting bored. It's a pity that we couldn't check in on time, but all the employees feel good.

It's a great place to reset from your daily routine. Enjoy coffee while listening to Bose and taking in the space and the flow of time around Yugawara. As other people have commented, the building is old, but that's also enjoyable. The chef's passion is clearly conveyed here, and it's up to you whether you like the chef's slightly distinct flavors. The private open-air bath is also very charming and...
Excellent ryokan, the dinner and breakfast are particularly to recommend.
This was the best ryokan experience I’ve ever had, from the food to the exceptional service. The ryokan was very clean and we stayed in your normal tatami mat style room. They provided a nice tour and explanation of the facilities and our room. Even though no one on the staff spoke English, they made a huge effort to accommodate us with specially printed instructions and menus, and to communicate...
An inn that I would like to visit again. I went to Yugawara for the first time in many years. close! ️ I'm grateful that transportation costs are low. Yugawara is nice! The hot water is nice, and the food here was delicious. Is breakfast normal? My morning coffee was ⁉️⁉️, so I called the staff, but they said no. →I'm very disappointed. There were some small details, but overall I think it was good...
This is an auberge with natural hot spring water. It was definitely an inn I wanted to stay at. The inn is located a few minutes down a steep slope from Yugawara's main street. The room was a simple and beautiful 10 tatami Japanese style room. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries, etc. There were two keys and two bath towels and yukatas each. However, there were no sliding doors in the Japanese...
1 hour by train from Tokyo. 8 minutes walk from the bus stop. There is a hill to climb and the inside of the inn is full of stairs, so it may be difficult for elderly people. The French course meal at the restaurant was very delicious and the amount was enough to fill my stomach even without upgrading. We are a family that always eats well. My teenage daughters were also delighted with the beauty of...

Overall, Yugawara is inferior to Karusawai in Hakone; the scenery is decent, but the development is extremely poor. It's very desolate at night, with almost nothing to explore. The hotel sofas were stained, and the Onsen faucet was very noisy, greatly affecting sleep. The kaiseki cuisine tasted like pre-made dishes from Lawson, with absolutely no flavor. Only the presentation was somewhat elegant.
The hotel generally is good, their food is good too. They provided me with a good service for my departure.
They listened to many of our requests and I was really impressed by their wonderful hospitality. I would definitely like to go again.
I like the room type very much
The food is average. There is a hot spring in the room, which is very good. The hotel staff are not very good in English and Japanese. I don't know what language to speak to communicate smoothly. Overall good. Recommended for guests who value privacy
Acceptable dinner food quality, but quite disappointed on low-class wooden chopsticks and strange mango pudding dessert , prefer to have seasonal fresh fruit instead.

it's very good quality abuot the room and service
Very comfortable, quiet, attentive service, the family is very satisfied
- super hosts, very helpful, whatever is your request, doing their best to translate in English and make it easy for you - large bedroom with very comfortable futons - great house full of tatamis - onsen : inside and outside opened still late at night - opportunity to get a kaiseki dinner
I liked the accessibility of the public onsen. It was nice being able to go at any time in the evening. It was great how quiet and safe the hotel was. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a getaway from the city.
전통 일본식 문화를 체험할 수 있었고, 직원분들의 친절함 무척 좋았습니다. 또한 온천욕은 아주 좋았습니다

It's an old building, with creaking floors and a distinctive rural smell. The building was dimly lit, and the path to the private bath was a little scary. There were bugs in the indoor hot spring bath as well. But other than that, it was absolutely wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious. All of the dishes were elaborately prepared and looked great, the hot food was hot, the cold food was cold...
This 90-year-old hotel exudes a vintage charm, with impeccable service and attention to detail! I love the atmosphere here, the bliss of being able to soak in the hot springs anytime, the fresh ingredients and delicious cooking, and the exquisite plating! A top choice for wellness.
The water was nice. The food is also carefully prepared. It's good to have breakfast and dinner in your room. It's nice to take a bus from Yugawara Station and walk for 2 minutes from the last stop, which gives you a nice change of pace. The room was quaint and I didn't mind how old it was. It was quiet, and I was truly healed by the sound of the babbling stream and the voices of the warblers. The...

Excellent food and service. The staff was super nice and very friendly. Everything was perfect
The hotel is located about 7 minutes' walk from Yugawara Station. It has an elegant exterior and rooms with traditional Japanese design, much like the traditional Japanese homes seen on TV dramas. The hot spring on the basement floor is also very comfortable, but the bathing facilities in the room are relatively old. The next day's breakfast was a completely vegetarian Japanese meal, which was very...
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! We booked a one night stay in the room with private bath, with breakfast and dinner. The service was amazing and very friendly, the room was very large and comfortable, and food was really nice. The onsen was great too! Would highly recommend especially if you’re after a ryokan with vegan/veggie friendly food - as it a purely vegan!
The room was so spacious that it was a shame (*≧∀≦*) I only included breakfast, but I started the day with a variety of side dishes, brown rice, and miso soup 🎶 I was very satisfied with the carefully prepared food.
Wonderful stay. Food is exquisite; local vegetables cooked in innovative ways. Wonderful friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable bath and bedding. Relaxing vibe, easy to sleep and refresh. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Take the free shuttle bus directly from Yugawara Station. The room is a single without a bathtub or shower, but there are plenty of outlets and USB ports. However, there are only two hangers. The food was delicious. The hot springs in the new building are mostly for day trips, and it can be uncomfortable when there are noisy groups of guests. The main building is a little old, but it is only for overnight...
I was surprised at how luxurious the food was for the price. Thank you very much.
There are no bathing facilities in the room, it is a bit troublesome to go to the hot spring bath; the indoor hot spring is very small, it is recommended to go directly to the outdoor one; the breakfast buffet options are many, dinner is very rich.
I think it's a great place for couples to go. The fireworks were amazing. The bus ride costs about 1,600 yen per person.
Izuminoyu was very good. What's more, guests could use the baths for free the next day, and they even lent us towels. This is a very reasonable hotel, so I would like to use it again.
The room was clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and sumptuous, and I thoroughly enjoyed my trip with friends. I stayed here with the intention of relaxing in my room, and it was exactly what I expected, and the price was reasonable, so it was a great memory.

The young proprietress was as beautiful as rumored.
I am a first-time traveler to Tokyo who does not speak Japanese or English well, and the travel agency said that the bathroom was included and uploaded a photo of a private room so I made a reservation, but it turned out that the bathroom was literally a private bathroom and not a ryokan. I thought something was wrong, so I tried hard to communicate with Papago using hand and foot gestures, and it...
I made Manyoko Bonsai at this inn. It was a very good feeling as it was a traditional inn in Yugawara. If I had time, I wanted to take a hot spring for an additional fee. Bonsai was also fun and I was at the entrance. Direct sales were also good.
It is a good old inn. The room feels old, but there is harmony in the beautiful room, and I felt seriousness in each place. I was able to enjoy the open-air bath slowly. It was my first time to take a room bath and eat in a room, but I was very satisfied. In particular, the meal was a "full course" of delicious fish both at night and in the morning, and I was full and ate too much.
The building of this inn is quite old,but everything was well maintained and kept clean. Food for dinner and breakfast there was OK, and the hot spring with overflow system was quite comfortable. Staff members were all friendly and cozy. Totally, I was able to have a good stay and want to go there again!
Very cosy place in winter. The folks there are ultra friendly and helpful! The place is old but very functional. Will definitely go there again.
