This hotel exceeded my expectations. Even though I had some understanding of it before booking, staying there in person truly revealed the unexpected delights. The hotel is conveniently located near the Tram Palace lower station or the Hotel Zen bus stop, making it accessible even without a car or private charter. Then there's the hotel's architecture, the concierge area, the front desk, the check...
This is my 3rd visit in past 2 years. The hotel is so well maintained, the service is very professional. We enjoyed the japanese set dinner and felt that the portion can be bigger. The Western Breakfast was great and must try. The dining ambience was good.
The room was very comfortable and quiet. There are many places to explore throughout the hotel, and the hot springs are definitely worth a visit, especially in the morning when it's particularly peaceful!
👍👍 Met expectations. It has a real sense of history and the interiors are beautiful. The hot spring was very relaxing.
This hotel has a lot of historical character and is pretty good overall. It has a garden you can stroll through, and there's a bus stop right outside that takes you directly to Odawara Station, which is very convenient. The only downside is you can't see Mount Fuji from here.
Beautiful hotel, loved everything about it, from location to the hotel staff, next time will stay longer, the Japanese breakfast was truly amazing

Good hotel overall, breakfast could have more options. Baths were the best thing here.
The location is super convenient, right next to Hakone-Yumoto Station, just across the bridge. It's a large hotel with spacious rooms and good facilities. The hot springs are great and not too crowded.
Second time staying here. It's very conveniently located for sightseeing and getting back to Tokyo. The food wasn't as good as last time, probably due to rising prices in Japan. Service was satisfactory. Next time, I'll probably skip booking meals.
The room was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped. Since I booked a random room, it really exceeded my expectations. It's very close to the station, making it convenient to get to all the main attractions. I had a very comfortable stay.
Excellent location in Hakone - just opposite the train station and in the middle of Hakone town Rooms have been renovated and modernized Breakfast is fine but the food spread is average. Highly recommended
This hotel once hosted the Emperor. The rooms are spacious, and being nestled in the mountains, the air is rich with negative ions. There's a balcony where you can step out and listen to the gentle sound of water. For our hot spring experience, we opted for a private onsen. Breakfast was a bit crowded, but well-organized. All dinner restaurants require reservations; if you don't have one, the izakaya...

The hotel has a beautiful environment, especially the Japanese garden 🏡 which is incredibly picturesque. Even though it's winter, the plum blossoms and cherry blossoms 🌸 in the courtyard are already in bloom, making for a pleasant stroll. There are also many cultural relics. The guest rooms are a bit dated, and the facilities are just average.
The hotel's location is excellent. The bus to Owakudani leaves right in front of the hotel. However, there was no snow, so the outdoor views from the hotel weren't particularly appealing, just mountains and bare branches. Since we didn't opt for a meal, the two futons were already laid out for us quite early.
We stayed in a few Ryokans but this Yoshiike Ryokan is the best because the room have large window that allow fresh mountain air to flow into the room and the futons are incredibly comfortable and warmed. We came in January when the weather dropped to 0c and the room had heaters. The onsen is beautiful and natural. My wife loved the gardens. And the receptionists are very polite and happy. We loved...
The lady at the front desk spoke incredibly fast, regardless of whether you understood her or not. She quickly scribbled on a piece of paper, rapidly fulfilling her duty to inform, clearly a very indifferent person. When the air conditioner started in the room, it sounded like a turbocharger; the equipment is old. In the morning, a broadcast came on in the room, asking people to go to the parking lot...
Hotel facilities is great. Onsen is great. However the service is average. Hotel breakfast is not available most of the time (our trip in Dec 25-27)
The room was fine, and the service was good.

The package including two meals was pretty good value for money. You can send your luggage to the hotel from Yumoto Station. Dinner was a buffet, which was decent, but I personally prefer Japanese Kaiseki cuisine. 😊 The hot spring is large and has an outdoor section. Overall, it offers good value for money.
The room size was very big. But it’s rather old; many cigarette butts on the balcony floor so we didn’t even want to step out. Each time someone flushed the toilet it gave out such loud noise, which sound like a jet engine. It really needed some upgrade. The onsen was the highlight of the stay. Very nice and relaxing. Breakfast was decent with many choices. Location wise it is rather far from the...
The location is quite convenient, and the food is good compare the price.
It has a very large space for the room. Staff were efficient and friendly.
The hotel is divided into a South Wing and a North Wing, with the restaurant and hot spring located in separate buildings. The hot spring area is quite spacious. Free parking and internet access are provided. Overall, it's pretty decent.
The room facilities are a bit old, but well-maintained. The room itself is quite spacious. There are multiple hot spring pools, both indoor and outdoor. The downside is the inconvenient transportation. We came from Kamakura and it took a long time to get here. The bus journey involved a lot of winding mountain roads, and I almost got carsick.

Not bad, pretty good overall, just the food felt a little perfunctory. The outdoor hot springs are great, and transportation is convenient with a bus stop just a short walk away.
Staying for one night with two meals for 2700 yen offered excellent value for money. The open-air bath on the balcony is not a hot spring; it's just hot water. There's one public hot spring and three private hot springs in the garden, which are the real deal. On the first day, I didn't realize our balcony bath was just hot water until I specifically asked the front desk and found out only the first...
The environment is great, but the staff's English isn't very good, and the food is pretty mediocre.
The guy who did the check in was super friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and spotless. I was not too well to go out but the place had every thing I need for relaxing and recovery.
The food was quite mediocre, and the location was inconvenient, but the service was very good.
Coming to Hakone in winter, hot springs are a must! My top choice is definitely a room with a private onsen, perfect for a peaceful moment for two. The private bath is a bit small, just right for one person to soak comfortably. The view from the balcony is beautiful, with lush green maple leaves layered with red and yellow. Dinner and breakfast were decent. However, the sink in the bathroom and the...

The hotel's shuttle bus was very convenient, the room was comfortable, breakfast was exquisite, and the hotel service was excellent. A wonderful memory.
This hotel is nestled in the mountains, and the service was decent. The facilities inside the hotel were all quite clean. Overall, it was good.
This hotel is great for seniors; the hot springs are nice, and while the facilities are a bit old, they're clean. Environment: There aren't many other hotels nearby. Hygiene: It's good; the cleaning staff does a good job.
A very good stay overall. Rooms were a bit dusty and mould on the bathroom ceiling. However staff were excellent and looked after us all the way.
The hotel's shuttle service made getting around incredibly easy. We pre-booked it on Ctrip, and the shuttle to/from Odawara was right on schedule. It also offered flexible pickups and drop-offs at several attractions. After returning to the hotel, a soak in the hot spring was the perfect way to unwind and wash away the day's fatigue.
Spacious room and nice services. The breakfast has a great variety of choices. Hot spring is nice.

The service here is incredibly thoughtful. You can communicate directly if you have any needs, and Mr. Zhang at the reception was meticulously attentive to all our requirements. There's also a laundry service. Most importantly, if you're driving, Hakone can be quite challenging with its narrow roads, so be careful!
The location is a bit secluded.  The staff keep a clean environment.  The service here is excellent.  The facilities are good, however besides onsen and food, there isn't much else to do.  The uncharges are a bit steep
Try it to experience the service and facility.
The service was excellent, professional, and very attentive. The in-room amenities were premium and had a luxurious feel. The towels and hot spring attire were made from high-quality material and felt wonderful. It's an excellent choice for a hot spring inn.

Beautiful hotel with a perfect view of the lake and right next to public transportation options. The deluxe lake view room was huge and very clean. The public onsen is small with just two pools, one onsen had an open view to the sky. Note that they have no gyms available. The breakfast was great, a small main hot entree and unlimited sides, such as breads, salads, fruits, and drinks. The only downside...
Paid for an expensive lake view room but they gave us one which is the worst one. Furthermore the aircon was not working and it was stifling in the room. We were told that it is central heating and nothing can be done about it. They allow us to open the window to get some fresh air. Paying over S$400/night is really not worth it. Location is next to the excursion boat jetty and some eateries.
This is a century-old hotel, so the room facilities are a bit dated. However, the service level and overall experience definitely give off an 'old money' vibe. The location is excellent, with a bus stop right outside and close proximity to the pirate ship port. My favorite part was waking up and pulling back the curtains to see the white peak of Mount Fuji.
Hakone Hotel is a historic piece of Hakone and has maintained its elegance over the decades. It has spacious rooms with comfortable beds and if lucky, great views of the lake and Mt. Fuji. The onsen are a nice touch, and included for guests with minimal charge, 150 yen per da, and seems to be compulsory. The breakfast is simple, with an order main dish, and buffet for the additional options. The French...
Stunning views. Highly recommended if you are in Hakone. The breakfast was good too.
Beautiful hotel with a really large, clean and comfortable room. Appreciated the complimentary drinks in the room, and at the foyer (in the morning) and bar (during happy hour). Lovely view of Mt Fuji across the lake as well, worth every penny. Beautiful older style hotel, staff are attentive , baths are beautiful and comfortable beds, amenities is nice too with dyson hsirdryer. Fantastic location. The only downside is room a little outdated with mould on the ceiling and inside the wardrobe.
Great place and very comfortable.
A place stagnate in time, with timeless charm and good environment. Located conveniently nearby to Yumoto Station is a great plus for laid back area of Hakone. Service staff are friendly and attentive to details, and have no difficulty to communicate in English. Recommended for slow pace holiday
Excellent! This onsen ryokan, operating for over 70 years, boasts 9 natural spring sources, a clear testament to its authentic *gensen kakenagashi* (free-flowing hot spring water) system. It's a short, convenient walk from the station. The bamboo grove at the entrance is exquisitely maintained, and we were welcomed by female staff in traditional attire. The gentleman who handled our check-in had a...
The hotel has a very authentic Japanese style. Its interior is also beautiful, making it a perfect spot for photos. The hotel's ambiance was exceptionally comfortable, far exceeding my expectations. A real taste of Japan. Traditional style rooms were spacious and comfortable. Authentic Japanese breakfast provided samples of many foods. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Shuttle bus was exceptionally convenient. Stay here.
Aura Tachibana is a bit on the older side, but it is well maintained and has a lot of charm. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help, which really made our stay more enjoyable. Probably one of the nicest places I've ever stayed The room was gorgeous, traditional and warm. We spent there 2 nights a couple of weeks ago and had a really nice time. Our stay at Aura Tachibana was an incredible introduction to the magic of a traditional ryokan. The atmosphere was serene and beautifully crafted, and the food was truly on another level — every course felt like a work of art. Staying here alone was an absolute dream! The room had kimonos for some great photo ops, and the private onsen bath was incredibly relaxing. Every dish of the Kaiseki dinner was a work of art – so delicious I almost danced with joy. I felt so well taken care of from check-in to check-out. It's truly introvert-friendly, no awkwardness at all. I'm definitely staying here again on my next visit!
Fantastic location as it’s just at Gora station. The staff are friendly and nice. The meals are good and plentiful. Lots of free snacks and food throughout the day. Highly recommend. Beautiful sunrise from the room.
Our trip so great! They provide everything for you including snacks and fresh set of pajamas every day. The included breakfast and dinner were marvelous as well. The public onsens were awesome. You just need to find a time to go when there are not too many people. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious. The hot springs were incredibly relaxing, making this an amazing trip. I went without doing any research beforehand, but at the footbath bar where they serve welcome drinks, a staff member gave me a map and kindly recommended some great places to visit.
First time staying ryokan, was a great experience doing onsen in the room. The place was clean, and enjoyed the free welcome drinks and the foot bath.
Pros: Nice hotel, close to the ski lifts and the train station. There's a great coffee shop across the street and all the sights are very close. The rooms are large and spacious. The service and staff are excellent. Breakfast and dinner are delicious; I'd say there's a lot of food. I also liked the lobby bar. We went for a massage and to the onsen. Cons The rooms have layers of dust on the walls,...
We took a room in the annex. We had a terrace overlooking the valley below. The onsen was on the terrace right next to the showers.

Friendly staff and nice view with Fuji mountain. Stay peaceful.
The room was decent, but the view from the first floor wasn't great. I imagine the higher floors would have a better view. The food was good, typical Japanese style, and the service was also good.

The number of guests was limited, so we were able to stay in a quiet and peaceful environment. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and we were very satisfied with the private hot spring.
Wonderful Everything was wonderful. From the check-in, dinner, bath, breakfast, to the farewell, everything was wonderful. The quality of the guests was also excellent.
Very quiet, luxurious hotel with only 14 rooms. Fabulous dinner and breakfast. Wonderful inroom Onsen bath. We had an open air private onsen. Expected a typical autumn scenery with trees changing color but a little disappointed. It might be better in spring, with fresh green vegitation.
This was my fourth visit, following my first in July this year. It's not too hot and not too cold, so it may be just the right season for a hot spring. This time, too, I enjoyed a dinner that lived up to my expectations. The main dish is usually beef, but this time it was duck. A beautifully designed hotel with a serene atmosphere. I loved the onsen facilities, especially having both private and public baths to choose from. The room is really nice and has the sauna in the room. It is really private but when showering you need to sit on the stool to ensure the opposite no one is looking at you
