You can see the sea in a 5-minute walk (but not from the room), and American Village is a 10-minute walk away. The bedding, toilet, and tabletop in the room were clean, but the floor was very dirty, black, though there was no hair or other foreign matter. The room size was okay; a 28-inch suitcase could be opened, but it wasn't particularly large. It's a hotel that's not particularly good in any aspect...

This hotel has a resort-like feel and is very close to American Village, making it easy to get there. The room has kitchen facilities, but unfortunately, cooking utensils and tableware are not provided.

Fantastic. Lots of room with a great location, friendly staff and very clean. Just one suggestion: please add a set of silverware and a dish or two to the kitchette. Otherwise perfect.

Hotel room is excellent in terms of comfort and cleanliness .Free parking on premises. Location is very convenient to American Village. A slow walk needs only 10 min with sea view along the way. Highly recommended.

Every single person at the front desk was smiling and adorable, very warm and kind to everyone ~ ^_^ The sea view from the room was superb; it was so peaceful to lie down and watch the sea. The room was nice and the service was great. The ocean view was beautiful, but unfortunately my room was on a lower floor so the view wasn’t as perfect as I hoped. Location is few min drive from American Village. Since the hotel has free bike rental service, we rode bikes to American Village (5 min) and Araha Park and Beach (1 min), hotel location is convenient. Self check in is convenient. Even though there’s no clean up service for the room, at least they will still provide fresh towel and clean up the trash daily. The living area was spacious and well suited; however, the noise at night with motorcycles was insanely loud and lasted well into the early morning hours, making it tough to sleep. Also, there is a coffee maker, but you are only supplied with one pod and no refills until cleaning day, which is once a week. We searched in multiple stores to find the brand and restock with no success.

The room and service were terrific. American Village and the beach are only a 7-minute walk away.

Stayed for 5 nights for USD$528 as a family with a toddler in Jan 2026. Pros: Good value given its excellent location and made for a good base in Chatan. The waterfront was at our doorstep (stone steps rather than beach) and we got to see the sunset. Stay on a Saturday night and get to see the 8pm fireworks from your room. Facing the ocean with fantastic views, we could even watch the sunset, and there's a seawall promenade for leisurely strolls. It's just a 15-minute walk along the seawall to American Village. The hotel also has ample parking space behind it. Being set back from the road, it's very quiet at night, making it a truly enjoyable place for a vacation.

The place is about 5min drive to the American Village. It's actually a long walk to the village even though the people tells u it's just near by. You can walk... If you are a Singaporean, double confirm chop, you should drive. Our walking distance for far and near is very very different from the Japanese and Koreans, or most other countries. Due to our efficient public transport system, we are spoilt...

Staff is very helpful and friendly! Environment is nice and clean! I particularly love the laundry provided in the room!

In Overall I Give a Big Thumbs-up, next time I will come back again in sunny day.

Hotel Sunset Terrace

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The room itself was very clean and roomy, and i especially loved the bathroom. It was like this private sauna/hot spring. I also liked the fact that the room cleaning wasn't happening daily, and that the towels were always ready on every floor. I only had to talk with one of the staffs when i was checking in, and she was really friendly. I'm super satisfied

The room and bathroom are both super big, it is rare to see such a spacious room in Japan. It's great to have a washing machine in the room. It can also be used for drying clothes, so you don't have to worry about your clothes not drying. There is free coffee and various drinks in the lobby on the first floor, which are delicious. Very close to the beach, the room has a large TV and good sound insulation

The room is spacious. It is rare to see such a spacious hotel room in Japan. It is very convenient to have a washing machine in the house and a dryer, so you don’t have to worry about whether the clothes will dry. Absolutely great value, extremely cost-effective! I have never seen such a big TV in a room, and the massage chair is great! The sauna is really top notch!

A highly recommended hidden gem! Just 1 minute walking from depot island but the food quality is great! Price is also very reasonable!

Right next to Merica park, this place had the most reviews for local cuisine. While I thought the food was on the saltier side, the sashimi and the fried taro cakes were good. I could not tell you the difference between Okinawa tempura and regular Japanese tempura. The service was quite mediocre. I felt their eyes on me the whole time I was eating and made me feel quite uneasy. I would not recommend...

I suddenly decided to visit with my child. I didn't expect it, but there were baby chairs and tableware for children, and the staff were very kind. Overall, the food was delicious, and the whole family was satisfied. The grilled butter fish was so delicious that I ordered it again :)

One of good choice around American Village if you would like to have something else not American food

A nice restaurant with Okinawa style food. A bit pricey with some of the items on the menu. The food is very good, however. It has kind of Okinawan decor. Worth stopping by before going shopping in Mihama American Village shops.

hotel location near Chatan downtown around 3 mins distance by car, you can park car on the street next to seaside dike which is convenient and free. room is clean and confortable while corridor is very humid without air con., the elder man in the front desk is pretty kind and nice to serve us

Located near the sea (no beach) and that's the only good thing about this dated hotel. Consider the ageing room's furniture and toilet without bidet, the price is expensive. Additionally and the worst thing is the overnight parking charge of ¥1000 when there's plenty of empty bays at the nearby parking lot. I wouldn't recommend this hotel except those who want jogging by the sea and with a view.

Good value for money , but a bit far from the beach . Sunset is the highlight near the hotel . Only problem is the noise from the American airport beside the hotel …

Hotel building is quite old and dated as well as the room. Toilet and shower is small and cramped. There is washing machine and dryer on 2nd level of the property but weirdly after 8:30pm unable to use the dryer. Parking is 1000yen per day, expensive. Location is beside the beach, surroundings mostly residential properties with no convenience stores nearby. Good service by front desk reception...

We had a fantastic stay in Chatan. The rooms are outdated as most of the hotels in the island but it is very comfortable, spacious and clean. We had to work as well and the internet worked perfectly. Nice balcony with distant sea view, wash machine and a safe were all a plus. It is very close to very nice restaurants and 15 walk to the bus station. We would have liked to stay longer but in the future...

The apartment-style room was very clean and relaxing.

There was dust on the bed and a musty smell, but it wasn't too bad. The facilities weren't bad. We didn't really mind, so it didn't matter, but people with sensitive skin might have a hard time. However, the location was really good. It's in the middle of Kokusai Street, so you can walk anywhere in less than 20 minutes. Parking is not at the accommodation, but there's a parking lot on the dirt road...

It's right by the ocean, so the sunrise is amazing! It's so calm and perfect! It's relatively new, so it's clean and the bedding is fantastic! Bedding is a key consideration when choosing a place to stay, and this one is perfect! The pajamas are also odor-free, which is nice!

American Village and convenience stores are within walking distance. There is a washing machine in the room, but no dryer. Parking is 1000 yen and the fee increases depending on the number of nights you stay, but I think it's cheap.

The facility is good because the bathroom is spacious and there is a veranda. The problem is. When I first got on the elevator, it smelled musty. Even in the bedroom, there was a bit of old air conditioning. People who are sensitive to smells might have a hard time. It is far from American Village for the price. About 700m. Instead, McDonald's, Yakiniku Hamasushi Kura Sushi Kurume Sushi Kyoto Ramen...

Really spacious and comfortable! It has a washing machine and dryer, which is amazing! The soundproofing isn't great at night, but overall it's excellent! There's also a 24-hour parking lot downstairs for 400 JPY, which is a great bonus! The fireworks were beautiful too.

Nice hotel and family friendly..

The apartment matched the official photos. Parking was limited, and the entrance/exit was quite narrow, making it a bit challenging to park if you have a larger family car. Being close to the main road, the noise from sports cars or 'bosozoku' (biker gangs) at night could affect sleep. Downstairs, there's a Family Mart, and nearby you can find Tenkaippin Ramen or other chain sushi restaurants.

The location is great, very close to American Village. It's an apartment-style residence. The room is spacious and has a kitchen, which is a big plus. However, the washing machine produces some lint; clothes come out with lint. Check-in is self-service, so I didn't see any staff. The pillows aren't very comfortable. Each person is provided with a towel and toothbrush. The bathroom has full bottles...

The room was excellent, we loved it! We would love to stay here again!

The hotel was like a single room in an apartment. The toilet and bathroom were separate and it was very spacious. When I stayed with four friends, they provided us with cots.

The location is great, close to American Village. It's really convenient to go downstairs for late-night snacks or to a convenience store. The only downside is that the noise from the biker gangs at night is incredibly loud, making it hard to sleep or even waking you up! Very good layout for family travel with 3 bedrooms and 2 washrooms

The amenities are wonderful; toiletries are provided, and hot and cold water dispenser is available in the room so you dont need to keep buying water. American Village, Aeon, Daiso, and several restaurants are within walking distance. Lawson and 7-Eleven are also nearby. Reception is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM; please email them if you plan to check in later.

We stayed in 2 bed rooms unit, very well equipped and clean. They provided a cooking shelf and kitchen tools. The room is big and very comfortable.

Good location, near American village. Reminder that reception only function from 10am to 7pm.

Hotel was conveniently located near the American Village. A short 5-10mins walk and you will arrive. There are also many restaurants and food joints available in the vicinity even till late.

If you’re thinking about staying at the hostel in La'gent Hotel Okinawa Chatan—this is your sign. It’s one of those places that’s affordable but doesn’t feel cheap. Clean facilities, cozy beds, good location, and a calm atmosphere that makes solo travel feel easy. No regrets at all—actually one of my favorite stays this trip.

The front desk staff were super friendly and patient, and the room was really clean. There's a dry cleaning machine available, and you need a key card for everything in the shower area, which keeps it safe and tidy. Great choice for solo travelers!

All good, the breakfast is also good.

Solo trip but the staff and the public place is super nice highly recommended ppl here and u can also get a free ice cream each day

Perfect hostel for solo travellers. It gets the job done and its near the airport which makes it very convenient. Amenities are very good too

First time trying out a bunker bed just for experience. I was very surprised indeed. So spacious clean and have all the basic that we need. Of course less toothpaste and luckily i brought my own. Highly recommended hotel. Near to sunset beach and American village.
