Kyushu, Ibusuki, 10445 Higashikata, Ibusuki-shi 🧭 Map
A great hotel for a relaxing family vacation. It's in a clean, quiet location. The sand baths are especially worth a mention – something unusual and fun! The staff is polite and welcoming. I want to come back again and again!
Overall, I was satisfied. However, the dinner was a little disappointing for the lowest grade. I was able to experience the sand bath regardless of the weather, which was a great experience.
This is a beachfront resort where you can experience a sand bath right inside the hotel – quite a unique experience. Just outside, you can take a stroll along the sandy beach, and the scenery is beautiful.
The food was delicious and the private bath was great!
You could see the stars beautifully. I'd love to use it again!
The hotel boasts a superb location, with most rooms offering beautiful sea views. The staff provided outstanding service and were proficient in both Japanese and English. Both breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended!
Perfect value for money! Be sure to book a Japanese-style room to truly experience the authentic hot spring ryokan atmosphere. Beyond the standard onsen baths, they also offer hot sand baths. Delicious breakfasts are served (with a large buffet), and the luxurious kaiseki dinners are also complemented by a buffet. We would gladly return to this hotel.

Kyushu, Ibusuki, 4507 Nishikata 🧭 Map
It's about a 10-minute walk from the station. While a bit out of the way, it's a great value hotel for a quiet retreat while enjoying the hot springs. If you need to buy something, there are two convenience stores within a 10-minute walk.
The room was amazing, especially the large tatami area with Sakurajima just outside the window. The large public bath on the top floor also faces Sakurajima. There's also a semi-open-air onsen on the first floor, and the atmosphere is just as wonderful. I really wanted to stay there all day without going out.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the "Saraku" sand steam room, but reservations are required...
The front desk staff were very helpful and kind in providing tourist information. The food was delicious. The black pork shabu-shabu was especially sweet and delicious.
This hotel isn't located near Ibusuki Station, but two stops away at Miyahama Station.
Miyahama Station is quite charming (see picture 3). It's about a 10-minute walk from Miyahama Station to the hotel (you can arrange a pick-up service from the station if you contact the hotel in advance; we didn't have much luggage).
We encountered beautiful scenery on the way to the hotel!
And a train passed by...
The waiter was very polite and attentive and explained in detail how to eat each dish.
Hot spring hotel, the restaurant is very good, the waiters carefully introduce each dish, it is delicious, the room has a beautiful sea view, the room is large and clean, the hotel also has bicycles for rent.

Kyushu, Kagoshima, 22-1 Kamoike-shinmachi 🧭 Map
Art Hotel Kagoshima offers a very positive stay overall, largely thanks to its outstanding staff, who consistently went out of their way to assist and make guests feel welcome. I strongly recommend requesting a room with a view of Sakurajima—one of Japan’s most active volcanoes—as waking up to this dramatic landscape is truly priceless. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, with easy access...
Great view of Sakurajima. Great service and loved the hot springs outside. The place was clean but I would say it could use some dusting in the rooms; I was sneezing like crazy. Perfectly safe to walk anywhere and 7/11 as well as Lawson is right across the street. If you go to Nishimuta store 5-10 minutes away there is delicious soft serve matcha ice cream in the green tea shop for only 190¥.
This hotel is genuinely good. Even though the service industry in Japan generally maintains high standards, you can still feel a real sense of sincerity here. When I first checked in, it felt a bit dated, especially the elevator. The doors closed really fast, so you had to keep pressing the 'open' button. Several Japanese guests, being polite and letting others go first, ended up getting caught by...
Hotel is facing Sakurajima and near the ferry terminal. Could see sunrise every morning from my room, very beautiful. Convenient shops are just opposite the hotel. Rooms are spacious with a balcony.
Hotel services is good ,rooms view is facing sakuarjima, car park access is convenient ,staff are friendly ,breakfast is good, highly recommended if you are driving
Has a very good view of Sakurajima. Bit far from Kagoshima-chou Station. They have a good breakfast though.

Kyushu, Kagoshima, 1-8-10 Yojirou 🧭 Map
Super Iconic hotel and very comfortable to stay in! We were here for two nights and would totally recommend this to whoever visiting Kagoshima.
Public seperate bath at the top floor (13F), free ice cubes, parking is 1000JPY per night, there are washing machine and drying services, get the rooms that face sakurajima! A huge shopping mall just right across the hotel!
Great location, Sakurajima Volcano is right outside the window.
Located next to a big mall where you can find Uniqlo, Diaso and many others. The hotel is very big and many guests came to attend conference and then stayed. The onsen is located at the roof and you can view Volcano Sakurajima and sun rise there.
Perfect for a relaxing Kagoshima getaway. The shuttle service is super convenient for exploring the city, and combined with a one-day transport pass, a two-night stay is just right. The hotel's on-site hot springs are also very comfortable, and you can even catch the sunrise in the morning!
Nice view for sakurajima
Many restaurant nearby
Nice for self drive traveller
It’s an aged hotel which you can tell from the usage marks of many facilities. However, I still want to give a comparably high score to this place since you can tell the staff here are working hard to manage this place and make sure the satisfaction of the hotel. The place is not located in downtown but they offer free shuttle bus. The view from the window of the restroom is also a big highlight, where...

Kyushu, Kagoshima, 11, Chuo-cho 🧭 Map
The location is very convenient and the breakfast is good. You can see the volcano from the lobby, but the room is a bit small. Overall, it's pretty good.
Very conveniently situated just across Kagoshimachuo station. The view from the room is amazing! Fully recommend this hotel if you travel to Kagoshima.
The location is super convenient, with the airport shuttle bus stop right downstairs. From the hotel lobby, you can see Sakurajima volcano, which is constantly active, erupting smoke every evening. Definitely worth it!
Great views, clean room, and a spacious bathroom perfect for a bath.
Very good location.
And close to train station
No need to pass the road and use tunnel to walk pass
When hungry and can't sleep can go B1 restaurant to eat dinner or supper
My room view very good , can see the skyscraper
The room was decent, not too small. We could fit two suitcases by moving the table. The volcano view was absolutely stunning; we even saw an eruption on our first day, making the observatory mountain feel unnecessary. Breakfast was also very rich and plentiful.
