The hotel is located in Kirishima, making it convenient to drive to Kagoshima and Sakurajima. The lobby has a great design, the room was clean and tidy, and the service was attentive. Parking can be a bit tight near the main building.

Room was clean and spacy with great view of ocean and mountain. It takes a bit longer time for checking in than expected.

First, we loved the onsen and its services, where we soaked in three pools of different temperatures, sweated in a sauna, then alternately cooled ourselves in cold baths. Second, room services were excellent despite its furnishings seemed to be run down a bit. Third, its location is central to travel most places of interest, which spreads out in Kagoshima Prefecture.

This hotel is excellent, offering incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice on Mount Kirishima. The private hot springs are absolutely amazing!

It was okay, pretty standard. The hotel management program is worth mentioning, and the location is excellent.

Really comfortable hotel with 3 private onsen room to choose from. Buffet breakfast is simple but delicious.

Its a good place as a onsen resort hotel. The onsens are really good. The food is so so but they provide free flow ramen and ice-pop at night as supper and snack. Very nice resort in the Kirishima mountains. Nice big rooms with a nice balcony. Free shoju is provided in the lobby nightly. Lots of toys and activities for families and kids. Great public onsen area with numerous indoor and outdoor pools. Great selection for dinner and breakfast buffets.

The onsen is big and amazing. The buffet dinner and breakfast are sumptuous with quality food! The room is spacious and comfortable. The only setback is the hotel is quite old and dated in the common places. With the quality food and best onsen, it's still a value for money hotel to be in.

Everything just average! Buffet dinner very disappointed, taste of the food just average and not many choices, breakfast is normal. I may not come again next time.

Kirishima Hotel

The onsen provides 4 types of water, sulphuric, salty, iron and one more. There are clear guides on the composition of the water and patients of what diseases may benefit from the onsen. It located close to a gas outlet and a trail (15 mins walk) with many Japanese Cedar, a lovely and peaceful trail. It is a big hotel but still maintains the Japanese attentiveness.

The hot spring area is quite large, with many different pools, including a mixed-gender bathing area, which ladies who aren't afraid to try can give it a go. The hotel is located on a hilltop, making it easily accessible by car. There's a magnificent century-old cedar forest nearby.

Apart from the dated room, everything was good. The hotel was set at a beautiful and tranquil cypress woodlands. Dinner and breakfast were good. The highlight of this hotel was its gigantic hot spring garden. The water was so good that we would come back for the hot spring experience.

This time I came to Kagoshima on a solo trip. I've always loved hot springs, so I stayed at Iodani Onsen Kirishima Hotel. The hot springs at this inn were absolutely gorgeous. There was a spacious open-air bath, and I was able to enjoy a variety of different types, which was very relaxing. Also, the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes unique to Kagoshima, such as akumaki and chicken rice...

Best hot spring facilities in the area. Room has individual bathroom with bathtub and toilet. Staff would place the mattress for you after dinner time. High class set dinner and buffet breakfast. Unforgettable memory!

Overall it's OK, there's an outdoor public hot spring pool, and the rooms have private pools. Breakfast and dinner are provided, and the food is OK. It's not a buffet, it's provided by the hotel. You only know what food is available when you open the meal that day, and the taste is OK.

The hotel service is very attentive and the room is large and comfortable. The hot spring in the room is very comfortable, and there is also an open-air bath available. The meals in the evening and morning were excellent and featured local specialities.

I love the hot springs, the food, and the amount of food, and all the other hospitality, so I've been using this inn every year for the past few years on special occasions. It's an inn I'd like to recommend to my close friends.

The dinner is super. Room is up to standard. Private open-air onsen is good. The service lady is smart and looks cheerful. She can handle all works from front desk to room setting. We finally met her at dinner time.

The environment is first-class and the hot springs are fantastic.

Facilities, service, staff attitude, etc. are all excellent without any shortcomings. The price was high, but it was worth it. I had a good rest.

The room was big and clean. There are hot springs both indoors and outdoors. In the slightly cool autumn weather, soaking in the hot springs in this comfortable environment is very relaxing. The food was also very good. However, due to the tight schedule, we checked out the next day without staying too late. I suggest you reserve more time when staying at this hotel.

Stayed as a family of three. A detached house. Open-air bath and indoor bath with running water. Meals in a private room. Japanese-Western style room. Barrier-free. It seems like there aren't many inns that meet all of these criteria. What's more, the food and hospitality are of a high level. If you're visiting Kirishima, this is a good choice. If you're going to Kirishima Shrine, this is the top choice, as it's a 10-minute walk from the shrine and within a 10-minute drive of other attractions like ranches. This hot spring inn offers excellent traditional Japanese service. Their service, ambiance, rooms, and food are comparable to a five- or six-star hotel. The surrounding environment blends seamlessly with nature. They have lovely foreign staff who are very helpful and accommodating to English-speaking guests.
