Considering the price, the service is very good. I had a great trip thanks to it. It's also convenient that Joyfull is on the first floor for breakfast.

The price was reasonable and the facilities were clean and satisfactory!

The bathtub was rough and disgusting

It was nice that there were many restaurants nearby. I also liked that you had to take off your shoes near the entrance to the room.

Convenient location with Joyfull on the first floor

The staff were great, they slid me a room even though I had left my passport behind. Did laundry, ate dinner at the supermarket across the way, slept well, ate a decent breakfast (included) and rode off into the morning. It's inexpensive so temper your expectations and you'll be OK.

There's a convenience store right in front of the hotel, which makes it convenient. The reception staff were very helpful. The Wi-Fi signal is a little weak. I'll definitely use it again when I come here.

There's a 24-hour hot spring nearby, a delicious izakaya, and the rooms are clean and cheap. I recommend it.

If you are looking for a place to stay for the night, affordable , nearby restaurant but only accept cash payment (Yen).

Located just a block or two from JR Oita Station (and mall), it is also adjacent to a large Shōtengai (covered street shopping district), it is surrounded by walkable dining and shopping and is an excellent starting point for deeper explorations of Oita, or even a short day trip up to Beppu by rail, about 20 minutes away, though you don't need to go anywhere to relax features a ground floor onsen as...

It's about a 10-minute walk from Oita Station. There's a convenience store nearby, but you have to cross a traffic light, so it might not be as close as you think. There are plenty of restaurants within a 5-minute walk. Also, I was happy that there's a large public bath on the first floor of the hotel. It seems to be a natural hot spring, but it appears to be heated, and because of that, the water...

The hot springs might be a bit disappointing for those prioritizing cleanliness. I was lucky to have a hot spring in such a convenient location, so it was acceptable for me. There's a convenience store nearby, and the room is perfectly fine if you're just looking for a place to sleep!

It feels like a traditional business hotel. While not spacious, the fact that it has a hot spring bath and is less than 10 minutes from the station, combined with the price, makes it very attractive.

I'll stay here because there is a large public bath, but the rest of the hotel is not worth rating.

Business Hotel Boston

This was my first time staying here to attend a New Year's party, and the room was thoroughly cleaned and there was very little air conditioning smell. However, the vents under the windows hadn't been cleaned and were full of dust...but on the other hand, it's actually rare to find a place that clean. I was happy that there were a lot of electrical outlets. However, the lobby smelled of cigarettes...

The hot water in the shower didn't come out at night. It was restored at 11:30 PM and was announced over the in-house announcement. I was woken up by the announcement and couldn't sleep after that. The room was clean.

It's basically a business hotel that only accommodates singles. It's located behind the large music hall, iichiko Grand Theatre, so I stayed here when my favourite artist was there for a live performance. It's close to the city centre and the entertainment district (Miyakomachi), so I think it's easily accessible. It appears the owner has changed, and I found my stay more comfortable than last time...

I stayed alone for work. The hotel itself was old, but not dirty. I was only there for the night, so I didn't have any complaints. It seems they don't serve breakfast. There may have been one at the front desk, but there was no hair dryer. There was no refrigerator, and the amenities were not very well-equipped.

I think the hotel would get a higher rating if the toilets had at least a bidet. I'd even be willing to pay a bit more for that. It's close to the station and offers great value for money.

Nicely located hotel with free Onsen. The rooms are fairly old and mine was once a smoker friendly room, which explains the slight smell of cigarettes and the yellowish walls. It is great that the hotel is located directly in front of the main station, but be aware of outside noise. I still slept like a stone so for the price I can recommend it.

The staff were super helpful. I had lost my watch the day before and they called around the places that I had visited the day before to ask them for me. It's a little bit of an older hotel but if you're travelling solo and cheap I don't think you can complain about this price.

Good emplacement near the station, hotel OK relatively clean. Good point is the free parking. And you can enjoy a good breakfast and great onsen with the hotel just on the other side of the street

The location is very convenient, with a bus stop right across the street, and breakfast is included.

Superb location opposite the station, and kind friendly staff. The bathroom was rather dirty, which was really discomforting but overall I am happy with the convenience of the hotel.

I was able to leave my luggage there before check-in. It was close to the station, so it was easy to leave my luggage there and head out to Kannawa.

The rooms are large and spacious, and the location is on the outskirts near Beppu Station, but it is a hotel with good value for money.

The receptionist was also very nice and it was a great stay. ✨ It was close to the station and there was a supermarket just a short walk away, so I'm glad I chose this hotel. ☺️

The front desk clerk didn't speak English very well, but he was very enthusiastic and dedicated. Thumbs up. Not only did he help to store the luggage for free before check-in, he also took the initiative to deliver it to the room before check-in. The facilities are indeed a bit old, like the feeling of a hotel in China in the 1990s. The location is very good, just next to the JR station, less than...

You can book/use both indoor and outdoor private onsen which is really nice! and the staff are nice and helpful. Also the area this Ryokan is located in the city is very convenient and nice! And is very close to the seven hells of Beppu.

This guesthouse was one of the most touching experiences of my journey in Japan. From the moment I arrived, I felt a rare sense of warmth and calm. Great location near Kannawa. It feels more like a guesthouse, very Japanese in style. Hyotan Onsen is very close by, but after 9 PM, there's hardly anyone on the streets, and it's quite dark, which felt a bit scary. Even the location is good but it difficult to go to and there is no sign of the ryokan at all. The room is very old and authentic which it almost 200 yrs. But request ice will cost 500 yen which should be free servicea.

This guesthouse is full of travel charm. You can reserve the bathtub for private use, and the meals are enough for 2 to 3 people, with sashimi, tempura, steamed dishes, and Western food—so much food you'll be spoiled for choice. You could buy eggs nearby and enjoy steaming them in the garden, but you won't be able to eat that much. If you ask the landlady for alcohol, coffee, pudding, etc., she'll...

The room was large, affordable, and Japanese-style. For each day I stayed, I received a voucher for a specific nearby onsen. It was really good.

First time experiencing a self-check-in hotel. Finding the hotel was easy and just a short walk from the train station.

The price is not too expensive because it is a holiday stay. There is a kitchen for convenient use, but the bathroom must be shared. The transportation is convenient. If there is an opportunity, I will stay again.

It was a homey Japanese guest house. The front desk left very early though and we ended up having to help lots of people check in, it felt almost like we worked there.

Owner is realy nice and changed my staying nights even if he did not had to.

Excellent value. Walking distance to all the nearby onsen, and it has a free tattoo friendly Onsen for guests. Paid ¥1600 for a tent in an air-conditioned room. You get a nice comfy futon setup and linens are starchy clean.

We had a great time at matsukiso! First we stayed in one of the indoor camping tents where we had a much better night than we thought we would have( the room has two big aircons and also a window you can open) Upon arrival we were welcomed very kindly by the owner/manager. We decided to stay two more nights and got an upgrade to a Japanese style private room with lots of space that we really enjoyed...

I used this hotel for one night with a friend during a trip to Kyushu. I can honestly say that the accommodations exceeded my expectations. We loved the Japanese style room with tatami mats, incredibly spacious room, amazing Japanese breakfast included in (low) price, great location that was walking distanc to Hyotan Onsen and the Beppu Jigoku (Hells of Beppu). The owner was super friendly and helpful and gave us a hand-drawn map of local onsens and restaurants. To note: Showers were only 7.30-8.30am (same time as m breakfast at 7.30am...

The location is great. There is one sink and one toilet. The bath in the building uses regular boiled water, they explained, and they gave me information about a nearby public hot spring.

The location is good for sightseeing in Hell, and there are many hot springs to drop by. The owner gave us a handmade map, so we could enjoy the hot springs in the morning and at night by looking at it. I stayed in a dormitory, but I happened to be the only woman there, so it was spacious and comfortable.

Beppu is a famous hot spring resort, but the main purpose of this trip was not to go there, but to take part in the Sunflower Casual Cruise, an event that runs around the Seto Inland Sea during the day. I chose this lodging as it seemed like a place where I could relax on a budget. 1. If you book on duty you get a discount equivalent to the youth hostel membership rate. I often heard people talking loudly at night and early in the morning, which was unpleasant. I felt the bathroom was not cleaned very well. I thought that having only one bathroom might be an issue when it was crowded.
