It's a rustic hotel up in the mountain.
Would not be easy to get there without a car.
Service was impeccable.
Onsen is excellent
The view from the outdoor onsen is fantastic
The meals were great.

the service is worst ever and the reception is very rude. we are a group of two adults and two young kids. this is the worst hotel stay during my 12 day trip in Japan.
1. this hotel offer free shuttle transfer from Hakkoda ropeway station. before the checkin date, i tried to contact them to confirm the pick-up time. it's so damn hard to reach the reception. via email, takes forevee to reply. via phone, the reception simply said i dont speak english and then just hung up! called a few times and all hung up! in the end i have to ask for Trip's help to communicate with the hotel. still, they were unable to confirm the pick-up time the following day. so we had to try to contact them on the checkin day. and as usual, it's just impossible to reach them. Trip stepped in again before the.hotel finally confirmed the pick-up time is 1pm. and i said okay. however, when we reached the ropeway station, there was no bus. we waited till 130pm and tried millions of times to contact the hotel, and then asked for Trip's help again! it was very cold that day and we had two young kids with us waiting at the pick-up point. turned out that the hotel simply forgot the pick-up!!
when we finally reached the hotel, no one said sorry or anything to us. they acted like nothing unusual.
2. at dinner time, the restaurant was open, but they refused to let us in. the reception said that we cannot order food even if we pay. dinner is only for those who prebooked. however, since hotel booking to checkin, there is no information anywhere about this and no one told us that we should pre-book dinner. this place is on the mountain and there is no restaurant or store of any kind for us to have dinner. the kids were starving but the hotel insisted they cant help. in the end, we ate instant noodles which is the only food that we can get from the hotel.
3. we booked 6-futon room. howevee, only two futon were prepared. when we asked the hotel to add more, hotel said no, reason being the kids shouldn't use futon???

We hate this hotel .

Did not take the trip. Flight cancelled at gate. Was not able to arrive in Japan. Hotel refuse to refund any amount even though stay was a week away.

very near to the hokkado ropeway, 7 mins by car. hotel has an onsen. good for skiers who are looking for BC tours. no snowboards for rental.

This stay was fantastic! The hotel's environment is beautiful and the design is chic. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room offer stunning city views. The staff were warm and friendly, and check-in was handled with great care. The bedding was comfortable and the room was very clean. The breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. Overall, it absolutely lived up to five-star standards. Highly recommended!

The hotel is quite large, and the breakfast and dinner were great. However, the rooms on the first floor had bugs, and the air conditioning was too warm.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The Hakkoda Ropeway was canceled, and we were planning to take a public bus to Sukayu Onsen ourselves. When the staff learned of our plans, they proactively arranged a shuttle bus for us. We also found out about a snow hiking tour at Sukayu Onsen on Xiaohongshu and decided last minute to join it. A special thanks to the front desk attendant, OMA SAN, who helped us communicate with the hiking tour guide, allowing us to successfully join the tour and avoid any regrets on this trip.
