Hotel Sunroute Fukushima in Fukushima

I booked a non smoking room which was confirmed by the front staff. However, the room smelled of cigarettes and an ash tray was also present.

Was it really a non smoking room?

Also bathtub drainage was bad and a little far off from Fukushima station.

I booked a stay at the newly rebranded APA Hotel near the east exit of Fukushima Station.
I was looking forward to staying there, but when I got there on the day, I found that the surface parking lot across the street was difficult to access because it was on a busy main road, and I had to make a U-turn from a different direction, which was inconvenient.
It's my own fault for not looking carefully, but a parking lot like this costs 900 yen per night.
It just seems like a rip-off.
I wish it was at least free for guests staying at the hotel, or around 500-600 yen.
The front desk was slow to check in, so I had to wait quite a while.
I should have just made it a one-second check-in.
I shouldn't have compared everything to the west exit.
Maybe it's because the room was renovated, but it smelled bad as soon as I walked in.
It was an indescribable smell.
Like the smell you get when you open a bag of rice crackers?
I sprayed all the deodorizing spray in the room, but the smell didn't go away.
I gradually started to get a headache, so I thought something was wrong and it was a paint thinner-like smell.
The facilities outside the room (water server, ice maker, washing machine, etc.) seemed to have been carried over from the previous hotel and were very old.
The ice was also from a machine like the ones you'd find in a supermarket, so I stopped using it due to hygiene concerns.
The casters on the chair in the room were too slippery on the carpet and I ended up falling over.
The bed was also high, so I kept hitting my feet.
I left with bruises all over my body.
The breakfast was overall too small compared to the west exit.
It was mostly Japanese food.
There weren't many options.
The rolled omelet, which they're proud of, didn't have any broth flavor.
Is it something you pour soy sauce over?
The only good thing was that they had cold dairy cafe au lait.
The cleaning staff kept knocking on the door after 9:00, and the sound of the vacuum cleaner and people talking made it difficult to get a good night's rest.
I was woken up by the noise even though I was asleep.
The smell won't go away, even though it's almost time to check out.
My headache continues.
When I opened the door to my room to check out, there were a ton of laundry bags scattered everywhere, and of course there were laundry bags in front of my room too...
Check-out is at 12:00, so can't they do something about where to put the laundry?
I almost bumped into someone.
Obviously I won't be returning.
