Reviews
I forgot my umbrella, so I'll definitely return.
The room was spacious enough for a traditional ryokan (Japanese inn).
The hot springs were great. The open-air bath in particular felt great with the early winter air and warm water!
Next time I'd like to try the highly acclaimed option with dinner included.
While it's an older building, it's been renovated, with a new, warm tatami-floored interior.
Because the inn was quite busy, we had to wait a little while for the reception to check in. After that, we were shown around the building and to our room. First, we had to find an outlet. Unfortunately, since it's an older inn, there aren't many outlets, and only one was freely available. It was further away than the pillow, so we needed an extension cord. As a seasoned traveler, I brought two three-prong extension cords, but even so, it was difficult to charge five smartphones and tablets. If you visit, be sure to bring an extension cord.
Amenities are limited in the bathroom and rooms, so please bring your own.
The bathroom had body soap, shampoo, conditioner, facial cleansing oil, and facial cleansing whipped cream. There was also a hair dryer. If you need a hair dryer or hair iron, please bring them with you.
Also, we only provide lotion and cotton swabs, so it's a good idea to bring your own facial care products.
The hot spring is truly skin-beautifying, leaving your skin feeling smooth and silky.
You can enter anytime from 3:00 PM until 9:30 AM the next morning. The bath is hot inside and warm outside. Please be careful when using the open-air bath in winter, as the outside temperature is quite low.
The yukata and tanzen robes are provided, making it very comfortable.
Dinner starts at 6:00 PM, is served warm and piping hot, and has a wide selection. However, on the first day, the grilled trout or sweetfish my sons were looking forward to were not served, so we had regular teriyaki yellowtail, which was delicious, which was disappointing. Apparently, they were serving it in the next room, so my sons were looking forward to seeing me serving a large amount of grilled trout, so it was a bit disappointing. The other menu items were also different, so when I checked the planned menu, the waiter said, "Oh, so this was the standard menu course." Anyway, there was a wide variety of dishes, the temperature was just right, and it was a very satisfying menu, so I think it was very good. The Asaka rice was especially delicious. It was shiny and glossy. The fried tempura was really good.
Breakfast can be had at 7:30 or 8:00. There were so many side dishes that I had to have seconds. I declined because I can't eat onsen eggs, but it seems I could have chosen raw, baked, or onsen eggs.
The yogurt with nuts and coffee for breakfast were very good.
The chiffon cake I received as a souvenir after paying the bill on my way out was delicious.
One last thing to note: there seems to be only one room key, so it's not possible to go out with a large group. Please don't take anything home with you when you leave.
Also, I suppose it can't be helped since the location is quite cold, but the flowers in my room had wilted and I felt sad, so I bought some flowers and put them in a vase, but the water in the vase had a pretty bad smell. That was the only disappointing thing. Healthy flowers are good, but I understand that it's inevitable that the temperature difference between when the air conditioner is on and when it's off will cause the flowers to wilt.
But I think it's a place I would recommend to others. I'd like to go again.
I was very, very satisfied with this inn, but there are two things to be aware of:
- Tabi socks are provided, but slippers are not, so if you need them, it's a good idea to bring your own. I'm not sure if you can use them, though.
- Shampoo, face wash, and lotion are provided, but makeup remover is not, so it's a good idea to bring your own.
That said, since there are only a few guest rooms, we had the hot spring all to ourselves, and were able to relax very comfortably.
The room was spacious, and the tatami mats were new. When I opened the curtains, the view was of the forest, and the sense of openness was amazing.
The maid's warm hospitality was very nice.
As everyone has written, the food was delicious and I was very satisfied.
In the evening, we were served about 12 dishes, and I was full. Everything was delicious. The rice was great.
I think this is an affordable, quiet inn, perfect for a relaxing stay.
I requested a taxi at the front desk in the morning, and relaxed in the foot bath at Bandai Atami Station before heading home. There aren't many trains, but there is a local product center nearby, so be sure to check it out.
I would definitely use it again and highly recommend it.
Above all, the food was delicious.
There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all.
I stayed for two nights and was impressed by the variety of dishes we were served, almost all of which were different.
The hot spring water was also very thick and delicious.
The building is only two stories high, so there is no elevator. So if you have trouble walking, it's best to let them know in advance and book another room.
I would like to stay here again.
I heard that it was delicious in word of mouth, but it was more than that.
The room is clean and perfect for the price of the stay.
Since infants cannot enter the hot springs, I used the shower and bathtub in the room.
We prepared a diaper bag, a bouncer, and a chair for children.
Thank you for your concern.
In addition, we want to use when we come nearby.
I will definitely go again and invite my friends. 🤗
