Reviews
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was quite disappointing, primarily due to the lack of basic customer service. From the moment we arrived, there was no warm welcome—just cold, unfriendly attitudes from the reception staff. We were handed our key fobs in silence, with no explanation or hospitality whatsoever.
When I mentioned that we had a large suitcase and noticed there was no lift, the receptionist responded in a condescending tone: “It says everywhere, you should know that.” Not only was this unhelpful, but it also set a negative tone for the rest of our stay. No offer of assistance was made.
The hotel itself has little to offer—an old building with thin walls and glass, so you can hear virtually everything from neighboring rooms and the street. One morning, we were startled when a cleaner opened our door without knocking around 8:30 AM. She left quickly without apologizing, which made us feel like our privacy and security were not respected.
Breakfast was average at best—same limited options every day. The staff member working in the breakfast area made guests feel uncomfortable by watching how much they were taking and reacting with visible annoyance. It felt like we were being monitored, even though breakfast was included.
The location is okay, with nearby buses and trams, but it’s not within walking distance of the old town, so some travel is required.
To top it all off, check-out was rushed and impersonal. No one asked how our stay was or thanked us for visiting—just a curt “all done” when we handed back the fobs.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting friendliness, basic hospitality, or customer care. There are certainly better options out there.
I got email scam from this hotel.
i could hear everything happening in the other rooms. Besides that the room itself was ok.
Wifi, location, decent breakfast, clean room, hot water, price.
Bad:
You have to drink yourself to quite a state to sleep here. There are no walls, so you will hear all the talking and other sounds. If you like to sleep i would not recommend this place.
Parking:
If you are in luck then you will find spot front of the hotel (2€h from 8-20). Other option is to buy parking from hotel (7€, day/night). I was in luck and parked front of the hotel.
My stay was a nightmare. A male guest harassed me and other women, trying to force his way into my room at 3 AM. This occurred while I was inside sleeping! I I immediately contacted the hotel reception for assistance. Unfortunately, the receptionist was unable to provide any meaningful help. I had to call the police later to ensure my safety. The perpetrator was making disturbing remarks to the police officers that I called, about hearing male voices inside. Additionally, despite the hotel prominently advertising 24/7 camera surveillance, I was informed that the cameras were not functioning. The hotel's response? Absolutely appalling. The manager stated that they could only remove the guest if he voluntarily agreed to leave!!! The alternative offered was simply to move the guest to a different floor, a solution that does nothing to address the core issue of his threatening behavior. Luckily he accepted!
To add insult to injury, the hotel offered no form of apology or compensation for this distressing experience.
The thin walls of the room only increased my anxiety, as every small sound from outside reminded me of the attempted intrusion. This hotel clearly doesn't care about its guests' safety. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away.
Rooms are kinda outdated but good and comy. Due to the nature of the building, there is a smell.
Rooms are cleaned every or every other day. Hot water 24h, reception 24h.
The hotel has a game room behind the reception. Breakfast is nice and consistent.
A lot of room to place your bags and clothes, table for working, reliable internet. There is not much more you can ask for.
The room had a nice view of an older building with great architecture.
They offer lugage storage, which was 👌👌👌.
Location is near everything - 15 minutes walk to the old town through amazing parks and scenery.
On the entry, you have 2 pizza places that open later in the day and a bunch of coffee shops around.
Definitely coming back on the next stay in Riga.
