They’re lacking a lot of basic stuff that’s expected from a hotel: there’s only one single hanger and they don’t have handwashing soap(???), also the water heater is super hard to adjust. Expected for the price though. DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE CARPARK AT SUNDAY you won’t be able to go back in there’s a flea market that blocks the road. Hotel staff are efficient and nice, very hospitable. Honestly there’s not much to do in Ipoh though.
Engine sounds are SOOOO loud at night. I know it’s not the hotel’s fault but omg.

I recently checked in at D Eastern Hotel Ipoh. Even though it’s an older hotel, the interior looks newly renovated and is very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the price is very reasonable. Overall, it’s a great value for money stay!

Hotel is very strategic, staff are very friendly and polite.
The room has some musky smell and got ants. And the mattress is too hard for our liking.
Water pressure was okay. Have ample parking behind the hotel 1st come 1st serve.
Overall, it was a good stay for the price.

I spent 3 nights at D Eastern hotel and I absolutely loved my stay. Anjeli, the lady at the reception was so helpful. She sent a map of places to visit in Ipoh to my phone. She wrote downn places I could eat and also try some special snacks of Ipoh. On the day of my departure when I thought I could just go to the train station and buy a ticket to KL, she checked online first and discovered all trains were fully booked. That saved me a trip to the train station. She recommended the right bus for KL and booked me a Grab to the bus station. Thanks Anjeli. The location of the hotel is perfect, it's about a 10 minute walk to Concubine lane, and about a 15 minute one to Little India. There are several restaurants to eat close by as well as shops. The night market is close to the hotel too. The room was big and had the necessary amenities. The only things missing were a fridge and a peephole in the door.

This hotel is good if you dont drive as parking is a problem. The good points - location very good, kopitiam, dimsum restuarants, etc within walking distance. If you decide to go Pusing Public Restuarant, that very popular place, you walk from behind hotel through reception, is shorter route.The ladies at the reception are friendly, polite n helful if you ask for directions. The room is very spacious, we get a Ttiple toom of 1 Queen n 1 Single. The single bed is super single so the 2 single beds room beds same super single. The room is very clean, comfort with electric kettle, coffee packs n simple basic toiletries only. The bad - the bathroom wall has no shelf or tray for u yo put yr shampoo, etc n you end up putting up the high wal1. There is no mini fridge but for that low price you cant complane.

The hotel located at town area which very easy to find convenient store and laundry. Surrounding Hotel has a lot of Malay, because it is Malay place. The Indian receptionist was very friendly always greet us in the morning without fail, She is fabulous.

This hotel is in disrepair. The rooms are spacious, but the furniture is very old and scratched. The toilet is stained of old age and with loose seat. Windows are in disrepair and difficult to close. The plumbing is repaired with tape. Walls and lamps are stained. Also it is dark in the room. All in all back to the sixties. No safe or fridge in the room.

We had to quickly find alternative accommodation in Ipoh, after our Airbnb host proved to be ‘uncontactable’. It was a busy time in Ipoh but we found one room at the D Eastern. And we were very pleased with just about everything - but especially with the front desk. GITTANJELI could not have been more helpful. She dealt with the cancellation process, by moving us to a better room, at no extra cost (in fact making us a good saving on our original *********** price). Her recommendations for eating, within walking distance, were spot on. We particularly enjoyed the Hyderabad Curry House. GITTANJELI was so professional, helpful and friendly. We can’t recommend her too highly. Thank you.

I think they need to train the staff better. The Malay girl that served me showed a grumpy face and when I took my plate of chicken there and asked for it to be taken away she just threw me a box and walked away...

Not so fresh chickens. Taste different. Few family members inform chicken is not its taste.. Like plastic.. Tastless. Prefer hot n juicy type but despite that rest are all ok

Worst KFC chains in Ipoh..been here many times..but still being positive after many of the bad experiences I've had..first visit after finish eating the porridge i saw shoe soles print on the porridge cover..i think they accidently step on it then still use it later. Then another times the chicken are cold. Third times ordered zinger burger the chicken breast are hard and over cooked and taste different from others KFC branch.
