Jewels Hotel in Kota Bharu

The hotel is located on a small square that's quiet during the day but hosts a lively night market every evening, mainly with food. Sometimes it's a big market with clothes, jewelry, and music, other times smaller with just food. The covered market and a large Islamic supermarket are also nearby.

The hotel itself has very friendly and helpful staff. Next door is their own restaurant with excellent Eastern and Western food.

The rooms are large, clean, and have decent showers.

They don't offer scooter rental, which is generally quite difficult to find in Kota Bharu. We arranged ours through +60 17-908 4063 on WhatsApp, 'Sewa Motor Kota Bharu by Hera'. They offered airport pick-up.

Strategic location. Close to restaurants and the Kelantan Museum. The room was a comfortable size, and the bed was cozy. The area under the hotel is lively, especially on Friday and Saturday, due to the night market selling food, clothes, and accessories. Everything was delicious, and the clothes were affordable. I've already repeated my stay at Jewel twice because I love the bustling market downstairs. Overall, good!

This is a basic hotel, but is considered good in KB. The restaurant provides good breakfast and good standard chicken rice at cheap price.

A night at Jewels Hotel, Kota Bharu – charmingly modest yet full of pleasant surprises. We snagged a room for RM152, and despite its appearance as a budget establishment, it turned out to be delightfully comfortable. The room was spacious, elegant, beautifully furnished, everything one needs to unwind after a day of exploring.

Only one small hiccup: toiletries were basic — a 3-in-1 shower gel (shampoo + conditioner) plus towel, and that’s it. No toothbrush, paste, cotton buds and so on. If those were included, I’d be rating it an A+.
Some interesting colour: Jewels Hotel was formerly known as Habib Hotel and is part of the HABIB Group. Its theme, as you might guess, revolves around “jewels”, reflected in its decor and name.

All in all, for value and comfort right in the heart of Kota Bharu, it hits the spot — perfect for travellers on the go wanting something pleasant without breaking the bank.

Good location, easy check in but have to pay rm2 for tax. Got spacious and clean room. Delicious food.
However they don’t provide toiletries. One of the shower head was not in a god condition.

Great location. If u like street food, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, just right in front of hotel, there will be food trucks and stalls where locals come to gather and feast.

Had a really good stay at Jewels Hotel! The best part? At night there’s a lively market right outside, so dinner is literally just downstairs — no need to travel far when delicious food is calling. 😋
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. For only RM15, you get porridge, nasi lemak, fried noodles, bread, cereal, and even kuih. Honestly, that’s a steal! We also enjoyed a nice morning walk to Pasar Siti Khadijah — very convenient.
Oh, and I have to mention the tiny lift. It’s not big, but it’s super handy for luggage or if you’re traveling with elderly family members.
The only downside: there’s no private parking. So if you’re driving, just be prepared. Other than that, definitely a place worth staying!
