Huvan Beach Hotel at Hulhumale' in Hulhumale

First impression was quite good, the check in was quite fast but it's not very easy to find the reception as it's behind a cafe. It was weird that the 6$ tax can be only collected in use, they don't accept their own local currency! I was given the room 502, which is on the ground floor on the back side. The employee who showed me to the room first tried to open another room by mistake which was funny for me but not funny for the guests who were inside. The room is quite small but there are quite many closets. There us something like a balcony but it's covered from all sides. There is kettl and tea, coffee. The bed was good, ac worked fine. I was given a code to access wi fi but it worked for 1 device only. In the evening the water in the shower was freezing cold. In the morning it was very hot ( I found the probable switch for that but I'm not sure how it works as I didn't ask anything). I woke up about 6 am because of strong smell of tobacco. At about 11 am a horrible construction noise started. They offered a transfer back to the airport, but didn't say the price, just "it's the same as taxi". So I paid 85 rufiyas for a shared transfer ( it was 80 rufiyas for a taxi from the airport). The driver kindly walked me to the transfer counter that I had to find. Overall: ok for a night. The airport is 10-15 minutes driving, the sea is opposite the road.

Taking a taxi from the airport costs about 10 USD. The room is quite small, and the environment is pretty basic, comparable to a lower-end budget hotel in China. The main upside is the affordable price.

There's a nice beach right opposite the hotel, so if you have more time, you could consider a sea-view room.

Service was good; even though there's an elevator, they still helped us take our luggage to the room. The coordination with our resort hotel was also seamless, and they helped us arrange a taxi to the airport (at our own expense).

As a transit hotel, the price is really great value, perfect for those who want to spend their budget wisely.

Suitable for a one-night transit stay. Overall the hotel is clean and good. The staff are friendly and it’s a convenient place for a short stop.

We had a great experience at Huvan Beach. Beach breeze and the fresh air made it even better. Loved the location and the food.

Nice spot along the beach- the water is beautiful but there is trash and plenty little biting flies ,so be prepared and remember that it’s a basic spot for transit and you won’t be disappointed. Typical breakfast with scrambled eggs, beans, fruit, and some bread choices. If your booking doesn’t include breakfast, there are other options along the sea that may be tastier. Bed and room were small, with older linens, mattress, and pillows, and the bedframe a bit creaky. the room was stuffy, but the AC was good. The bathroom is very basic and there were some amenities including free water in bottles and snacks for purchase. The staff was very nice! Overall it met our needs and would recommend for one night to or from the airport to an island. Thank you to all, especially the man in charge of the breakfast.

This is already my 4th stay in this hotel.
And prior to my last stay they allocated me a room which is located to another building, which was the entrance - door is accessible for all which I don't find myself safe. Also, there's a stray cats infront of the hotel and there was a time that the cat ran to me and I was so scared. Apology to say but that room smells cat. I escalated my concern on my next stay and they have given me a complimentary room upgrade to the higher floor. Thank you for your kind understanding regarding my concern and request.
Furthermore, they gave me a complimentary late check out - 30 minutes as I have an evening flight.

The hotel is just in front of the beach, you can hear waves coming and going. Very quiet at night.
