Staff were great, room nicely appointed but no tea /coffee station in the room which was disappointing. We ate in the restaurant which is very expensive. We ordered the crayfish as a treat as it was very expensive in an already expensive restaurant. It was the worst dish I have had in a restaurant in many, many years. It was dry and served with stringy asparagus. Very disappointing.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, very elegant and had an excellent bed.
We had a sublime creative dinner and a magnificent breakfast. Everything was perfect.

There are certainly independent reasons to visit Windhoek and the hotel. In my case we were using it as a stopover for our trip to Botswana and Namibia. Everyone was super nice there. The rooms are large and very clean. The restaurant is the standout with an incredible wine list. Like many places in the world outside of the US it is not much a cocktail culture so if you like certain cocktails- for example a Manhattan - you should think about alternatives. We enjoyed our dining experiences there. I would suggest sticking with meat options though it appeared the fish was fresh and they cooked it whole. Also, the oysters were quite good.

My business trip coincided with the Easter holiday, so I booked the Heinzberg Hotel. The hotel is quite unique. As it is an old hotel, the facilities are a bit old, but the service and scenery are really good, and it is worth it to experience it for one night.

The food, service, and view are all wonderful. We were there for lunch - we didn't stay here. One problem, the bathroom is completely inaccessible for someone with a mobility issue. Thankfully, the staff allowed my husband to use an unoccupied room but otherwise it would have been a disaster. I'd love to go there again - it was beyond wonderful but can't see taking anyone with a mobility issue there.

I had an amazing stay of 9 nights at the Hotel Heinitzburg. The service is amazing, the people that work there are very very nice and read your needs from your lips before you say them. They are all very kind and the Food that is beeing served at all meals is always of the upmost quality and tastes delicious every time. I already miss this Hotel. It is one of the best I have ever been to in my life. They also assisst you in finding activities and can serve you with whatever need you have. very clean and beautifully designed rooms. Truly an amazign and stunning Hotel. Both from the outside and from the inside. Can recommend everyone who stays in Windhoek this Hotel and/ore the restaurant Leo's at the Castle.

The restaurant is clean and the food is okay, but not high grade cuisine. Restaurant staff is friendly but has no idea how to serve , which most of the people in that restaurant didn't even notice. It's a 3 star hotel, wanting to be a 5 star hotel.

We stopped here on the way from Johannesburg to a safari camp near Etosha National Park. Very comfortable beds, not too close to the airport so not terribly convenient for overnight stay. Staff is very kind and attentive. Rooms on the street side are quite noisy at night and early morning.
