Reviews
Is location in the middle of city and really easy get a round. However one the staff from club saying to me that I took some of the drink outside the lounge. It like call me stealing.
Overall Impression
The property does not live up to the glowing reviews. The rooms feel more like those of a rundown youth hostel, and while the staff were generally friendly, they appeared poorly trained. The atmosphere reminded me more of a state-run countryside hotel from the Soviet era than of a modern five-star property. The overall experience certainly fell short of the Hilton standards I know—perhaps the lack of local competition explains how it gets away with this.
Service
Nearly every request required repeated follow-ups at reception. Whether it was asking for extra towels, requesting an additional bed due to a booking error, or ordering room service—nothing was handled promptly or efficiently.
Cleanliness & Condition
The condition of the room was disappointing. Cupboard doors were falling off their hinges, the minibar was completely empty, and the stained furniture gave the impression of neglect rather than luxury. The photos attached speak for themselves.
Comparison
In fact, every family-run accommodation we booked elsewhere in Namibia offered better service, higher cleanliness standards, and a much stronger value for money than this so-called five-star hotel.
My recent stay at Hilton Windhoek was shockingly below the standard I expect from a Hilton property. From start to finish, the service was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptably slow.
There were no robes or slippers in the room when we arrived. When I requested them for myself and my wife, it took more than three hours for them to be delivered. I requested water — a basic necessity — and that still took over an hour to arrive. I asked for a wake-up call and it never happened, causing significant inconvenience.
It is clear that staff communication between departments is extremely poor, as requests seem to get lost or ignored. On top of that, the lighting in the room was terrible, making the space feel uncomfortable and unpleasant.
For a hotel that carries the Hilton brand, this level of service is absolutely unacceptable. I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and questioning whether the Hilton name means anything in terms of quality anymore. Management needs to seriously address the lack of efficiency, training, and attention to guests’ needs — because right now, this property is far from Hilton standards.
