Protea Hotel by Marriott Windhoek Furstenhof in Windhoek

Wish I could give this a good review or even say it was average. Love the Protea Line of Hotels. Unfortunately, the rooms are outdated and worn. They moved us, as I was deeply concerned when the last time the Aircon Units had been cleaned in the first room. They appear to be updating room by room. They really need to invest more in property. The Staff were fine. The younger Staff were outstanding.

Horrible … overpriced , dirty … slow service … tv channels an abomination … the Protea in Walvisbay is light years ahead of the Windhoek one in all aspects …
Would not recommend..

There was no comp water when we arrived.
When we asked for it - they charged us 35 ND per bottle.
In their bar we ordered drinks for happy hour. But when we tried to pay they wanted to charge full price. Saying that happy hour doesn't apply any longer. But ads for HH was standing right in front of us. They took it away and said it's not working.
They change the price as per their liking.
The last day I ordered chicken wrap with potato wedges. They brought chicken wrap with veggies that they served for breakfast.
Jonas and Emily didn't forget to add % for their "service".
Don't go there unless you have no choice.

Their SPA. Massage and peeling was great. But we went there for absolutely different treatment. Admin and massage therapists do not communicate. We received our money difference though.

I do not recommend this place. They all try to hit you on money.

Hotel is located at nice place. A Lil bit far form CBD but that the best thing to be away form hustle and bustle of CBD. It is in a busy road so there was a lots of noise of Vehicle. Bit do have good parking space Rooms are old and not maintained properly. This hotel don't justify it's high price tag. The couch was old and stijkkjgt. The doodrs of wardrobe was not functioning properly. The taps in bathroom was jamed. Overall rooms were not good. Their life was a nightmare . Dining area/ resturant was well maintained. I like the bar setup too ofcourse bar was not properly stocked. Food was good. But there was no consistency. One day you order something it's good , second day you order the same and taste gets changed. Breakfast was good with good options. And they keep changing the menu that's good. They charge for dental kit that's not acceptable at all.a Staff was good and attentive, they try their best to take care of your request. Fill marks for their efforts. They have a small splash pool. I was carrying my swimming costume but looking thr pool, i never felt to use it. They also have spa. One day they ran out ofbwatert and I had to start my day by without ba shower. Over all its an average hotel, i will not come back here...due to poor maintinance and bad rooms
