But what makes the place a 5-star destination is the overall package.
The staff are all awesome. I've mainly been dealing with Lovisa and Katuu waited on me at dinner last night. They are 2 of the loveliest ladies you will ever meet.
There is free access to a very simple but high quality gym 24 hours a day.
The pool and surrounding area is great.
There is a spa although they are almost fully booked during my stay. I will definitely book in advance next time.
There is also a fantastic sounding selection of restaurants (although I haven't had the chance to try them all out yet!)
A special thank you to Lovisa, whose kindness and professionalism stood out from the moment we arrived. She was incredibly helpful, warm, and attentive, which made us feel genuinely welcomed. We enjoyed our stay so much and are already looking forward to coming back.
Feel bad for saying this because I’ve been here so long it’s become like my home away from home but this place is absolutely SHOCKING.As a Diamond member I feel like it’s my responsibility to make sure other travellers know.
It’s neither a Mövenpick, nor a 5 star and I reckon shouldn’t even be an Accor.
Charges double the price of the Mercure (in the same compound) just because of the name and is worse than the Mercure. Idiots like me and my company fall for it.
The breakfast they use old food, the chefs start getting lazy towards the last 10 minutes as do the staff, no still water on the breakfast buffet (YOU HAVE TO PAY), the other drinks depends on their mood, staff walking around talking to their friends and old lettuce leaves and re-used salad.
They don’t understand welcome drinks or how to use them, no one has put laundry bags and forms in my room and I’m so sick of being made to feel like a burden which is the worst possible feeling a guest can have when staying at a hotel.
Pool is not managed properly at all and I watched two woman walk around aimlessly for 30 minutes yesterday looking for a waiter.
There are a few very, very nice staff and the majority are great so I’ll write about them separately and thank them personally but they are probably the only saving grace of this place. Upper Management needs to be looked at. Accor probably need to visit.
There are other things but as I’m still staying I’d rather not say them now and get cold shouldered.
What I can say is, we are going to come to Namibia/South Africa once a month and were here to set up the office but after this experience, I think for the first time since January that I’ll be staying outside Accor. Absolutely shocking.
