Having stayed in the Netherlands many times over the years, it’s easy to say this was by far my favourite stay - wonderful hotel, perfect location in Arnhem and great food and service - Highly recommended

The front desk service attitude is very good. The hotel is located next to the station. The food in the restaurant downstairs is delicious. I will stay here again next time.

Hotel location is good as it is near the train station and the size of the room is ok. However, the service of the hotel is one of the worst I have ever encountered. They delay the check-in time as the time for housekeeping of the room overrun. The cleaning was not so good. The previous customer's towel was still on the heater. Dust was visible on the table. The espresso machine was clogged because it hadn't been cleaned, so coffee wasn't coming out. None of the 6 coffee machines came out. Well received by the night porter and a receptionist. The hotel is well taken care of right up to the room. Once in the room, it feels like the 1980s. Mold in the bathroom, furniture in the bathroom hangs too low. Booked a double bed and we got two single beds with a thin topping. My wife woke up with back pain. Quiet location, easy access from motorways, friendly staff

Hotel Papendal is a no frills contemporary yet comfortable basic stay hotel used for the Dutch Olympics team. Amazing value, but you get what you expect. Food in the bar wasn't great, but plenty of places nearby to visit instead. Would recommend for a stay when visiting the Airborne Museum ‘Hartenstein’ in Oosterbeek.

Stay at Papendal The stay at Papendal was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was excellent!

First time staying here on a business trip, clean

The hotel is close to the train station, making it convenient for travel. The staff are available 24 hours a day.

The breakfast selection was rather limited; it would be better if there were more options.

Our studio was nice, clean, and spacious. The staff was courteous and friendly. The only thing lacking in the room was closet space to hang clothes, utensils, and cups in the kitchenette. Excellent location and walking distance to everything you need.

The location is excellent, with several restaurants and cafes nearby and a Spar next door, close to the center. The hotel is clean and quiet, with free coffee or tea. Everything was perfect. I'll definitely be back.

Limited transport to the hotel

It’s a great hotel, very spacious rooms, nice interior design in the main entrance and areas, the whole vibe is luxurious and modern. The beds are comfortable, the personnel is friendly and professional, the food is really good. Then the area around is so beautiful, definitely go to park de Hoge Veluwe and take a bike, or go for a hike. Stunning!

Great stay for 3 adults We had a great stay, the hotel is clean, welcoming and full of amenities. Breakfast was amazing! Very rich and high quality. Spacious rooms and iverall pretty comfortable. No complaints

I feel I overpaid for the room based on the following: Room was not clean. Sheets had dirt on them and the walls in washroom area were greasy. Shower was missing glass and it made a mess while showering. No breakfast was included even at this room price. The breakfast buffet was amazing! 10/10

It is a good hotel with friendly staff. Location is not in city center but not very far away

Super dated room. Bathroom looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 70s. The room smelled of sweaty feet and wouldn't air out. Popcorn ceiling and walls with no decorations made it look slightly more cheery than a jail cell. On top of all that, the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything your neighbors were doing and when they were walking on the floor above. Would never stay here...

The hotel was lovely, conveniently located next to the food hall and the city centre. There was a parking garage and the rooms were spacious and spotless.

Room was clean. Hotel was in a great location, right across the street from the John Frost Bridge.

The rooms were quite large. Parking in a secure underground lot was easy and convenient. The breakfast provided was fine but nothing special. The common areas could be cleaner. We had no TV in the room for 2 of the 3 days we were there. The shower drained poorly and caused the wash room to flood; after it was serviced it was fine.

Good value It’s an okay stay the rooms are nice and clean my only issue is our bathroom was very small and not super ergonomic. It’s a good cost effective stay. Check out the breakfast before you commit if you are from North America, it’s a very European breakfast so it may not be up to your liking.

Room was good but TV and house phone did not work. Fixed in the course of the evening. The shower does not drain unfortunately nothing done about this. I do not want room 138 anymore in any case.

We stayed only one night - one Comfort room and one Luxury room at the coach house - but it was lovely. We had a 3-course set dinner (it might be a bit of a push for children) paired with wine in two of the courses. It was lovely. We had the most magical time here! The property and the surrounding park is incredibly beautiful. The restaurant was delicious, we loved every meal we ate there. The staff were wonderfully kind too. The room was a great size and the bed was really comfortable. We have nothing negative to say, we loved everything!

The location is beautiful. Super that you can just walk into the woods with several well marked routes. Ample spacious free self parking. The building is very nice. The rooms are rustic and have character. The miss parts are details that lessen the feeling of luxury and bring the value for money ratio out of sync.

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed and appreciated. We were in a large tour group and every detail was handled with professional courtesy. Daphne and the rest of the staff were helpful and very pleasant.

Good hotel outside Arnhem. Small hotel with cosy restaurant. Food was good and breakfasg super. Restaurant was fasing the River. Rooms with nice view over the river. Rooms were not big and old dated but good for what I needed and less expensive then downtown

Nice hostel in a very safe area. Bike storage on site via a bike shed which is locked at night. Probably a 30 minute walk downhill to the centre. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Although it is located in Arnhem, it still gives a feeling of being in the middle of the woods. The room is clean, pratical as to be expected from a youth hostel. Beds are better than in other youth hostels and the social area felt very welcoming and homely. Staff was friendly and professional. So far the best youth hostel we have stayed in within the netherlands.

We stayed in room 315 on April 30-May 2. This hostel felt like summer camp due to the ambience, amenities, and location. It's in a residential area, but feels more secluded because it's on a hill surrounded by trees. Passable but it’s not a hostel just a very very basic hotel. Make and ***** your on bed, no towels provided and no drying room or usable kitchen facilities. It offers nothing more than the very cheapest European hotels

Excellent stopping point. 8 person room used so military style living required. On site bar with friendly staff breakfast is nice and the staff happily provided a pack up breakfast knowing we were leaving at 5am for the return flight. Recommend a car if you're doing the battlefield tour grounds as its a bit out the way but if you have time and energy a bicycle may be fine.

This is a design hotel. If you like design: Bingo. If you like function: Sorry (!). Your partner is showering: sorry, bath is under water - can't go to the loo! Basin in the sleeping room - o.k., your partner has an early business meeting, you are awakened by bathroom noise (razor etc.). Here: function follows design, not the other way. Sorry. The hotel location and hotel itself was great. The only thing is our room did not look like any of the pictures we for the the room that had creepy pictures on the wall and life size blow up monster looking things so it was a little creepy. But other than that the hotel is fine

This lodging is located quite far from the center of Arnhem. However, there are four shops nearby that are essential for accomplishing your trip to the Netherlands, two of which are foreigner-friendly and well-reviewed, so it's quite accessible. I stayed in a room with a large bathroom and separate shower and bath, but the room was quite small, so it felt a bit unbalanced. The parking lot is outside...

Recommended as it’s one of the older buildings with a lot of character which makes you feel at home and take you back in time. It’s located near one of the greatest national parks in holland. It peaceful and beautiful and yet it’s only walking distance to the vivid city center

I have just stayed at this wonderful hotel with 9 of my family. We were there for the commemoration of the Battle of Arnhem. I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and it's staff. The rooms had all the facilities one would expect. They were comfortable and maintained in a traditional Dutch style which was such a change from so many newer, larger hotels that are impersonal and all the same. ...

Great place to stay beautiful made with lots of craftsmanship and humor. Also very generous vegetarian breakfast and lots of extras like a fridge fully stocked, various crisps to eat and homemade walking routes . Nice cozy place for a stay near Arnhem centrum. Good place to use as a base to know the surroundings. Open Air Museum, Hoge Veluwe, Burgers Zoo, Kroller-Muller Museum.

Welcoming staff and a trendy and beautifully lit room with an extremely comfortable bed. Massive sunken jacuzzi and a steam shower with more heads than I could count. All finished with an absolutely perfect breakfast with quite possibly the best bread (baked in house) I’ve ever had! 4 Star hotel at a 2 Star rate! Couldn’t recommend any stronger.

Very lovely, privately owned Café and offering a few guest rooms/suits. I stayed one week for a business trip and enjoyed the warm atmosphere and the great design. My suit had a great size, a steam bath and very modern style. I'd assume that all rooms/suits are less than 2 years old. The excellent and welcoming service in the Café was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous rooms and all the rooms are entered through a common patio. Amazing staff/owners. Always happy to help. Staying at Karel makes it feel like you a secret garden. A quiet oasis in the center of Arnhem.

Great place to spend the night. As we needed to be in Arnhem the next day in the morning we chose this hotel. We did not eat in the restaurant as it was late for us, breakfast was very good! Rooms are spacious and have comfortable furniture! The staff/owners are friendly people! Also very good price quality!

The hotel and restaurant staff was impeccable; everyone was friendly and professional. Our room was clean. However there is a bit of a damp smell coming from the bathroom and the bed matters was soft, which for us means not a good night's rest. The breakfast was rather modest. The location of the hotel, and the bus connection to the center of Arnhem are both very good.

Where should I start? The staff, very friendly, caring and with some really good advice on our day trips. Rooms, good size, very comfortable beds, modern, and clean. Parking, sufficient space available and free. Breakfast, super friendly staff and tasty. Overall a great place. Just the staircase is typically Dutch, so pretty steep.

Service and the food is excellent the decor and the ambiance is pleasant although on a busy intersection the traffic isn't a problem. Staff were excellent. Access to the rooms is via a steep staircase. Gas opposite which is handy for through travellers also a bus stop if you want to get to the centre of Arnhem

Well what can I say about this place? It's was amazing lovely beds to sleep in great food but the staff are out of this world. You can have a good laugh with them they are very respectful and couldn't to enough for me..I highly recommend this hotel to all my British brothers and sisters...
