My husband really wanted to stay on an Amsterdam houseboat and we were delighted when we discovered the "Avontuur". The klipper ship has been beautifully converted to living and guest quarters. Meticulously clean, comfortable bed, and well appointed with quality linens. The location is easy walking from city center, quiet at night, but in the early evenings we enjoyed sitting on the back deck waving to the party boats that passed. There are a couple nice restaurants close and many others you can easily walk too- Winkel 43 for apple pie and the Pancake Bakery for Dutch pancakes- both a must. We've traveled through out Europe and Peter and Astrid are some of the loveliest,, most gracious hosts we've met.

I stayed here one week ago for two nights. The pleasure of waking up with the sound of the ducks, the beautiful room and the beautiful atmosphere and place, is unparalleled. Mrs Astrid is very kind and always available. Absolutely recommended!!
