Linden Hotel in Amsterdam

An excellent hotel. If you list want to do your thing and want a room only then, this is for you! Great location for all you need.

Great area that was walkable, close to public transport and lots of restaurants and local sights. We checked in super late due to a delay and had to call (not at door) but they were there and got us in quick. Friendly staff. Loved the coffee and tea available and all the snacks- even a “to go” bag of snacks at checkout which was a nice touch. The room was small but comfortable. Only complaint was the shower was small. My husband is a tall guy and it was a tight squeeze but we made it work. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

A bit far from the train station, and we were on a lower floor so it wasn't very soundproof. However, the room was very clean, the shower pressure was excellent, and the front desk staff was super helpful with our luggage. Plus, there's free afternoon tea and snacks daily. When we checked out, they even gave us a big bag of snacks (drinks, two large packs of nuts, KitKat chocolate), so the service was really good. And the room had windows that could be opened.

Clean and beautiful room! Loved this little hotel!!! The staff were friendly, helpful, easy to work with at checking- so full of helpful information. They have danish each day! They give you two empty water bottles to use in your room and around town as you can drink the Amsterdam water. The place is beautiful. The windows opened so I could enjoy fresh air at night! Loved the neighborhood! Various types of restaurants and grocery stores are nearby. It is only a 20-25 min walk from Central Station. Nearby trams. On Saturday there were two markets very close by.

Location, location, location! Staying at the Linden comes with the friendliest and cutest warning that the hotel is tiny… but it makes up in more ways than just its perfect location in the middle of Amsterdam’s old Jordaan.

There’s no breakfast facility but they offer discount at the cafe right next door. However they managed to squeeze in public space area where people can sit, wait and do some digital nomad-ing, with free supply of coffees, access to sweet jars and board games for a rainy day. If you’re in time you can also catch some of the fresh pastry they offer at random times of the day.

The hotel staff were so kind and most helpful.

As for the room: remember the heart of Amsterdam is famous for its narrow houses and steep staircases. The fact they turned this old corner house into a hotel is a miracle in itself, so just brace yourself and enjoy the smallness of it all. There’s a kettle in the room and sealed empty bottles of water which is meant for you to fill up with tap water as that’s indeed safe to drink in Amsterdam. The only downside of our standard room (18) is the weird layout of the bathroom which needed not to be awkward. Just as well we are not built big or our legs wouldn’t have fitted sitting on the toilet facing the glass shower enclosure.

On the way out, we were given a ‘Thank You’ goodie bag. Lots of brownie points for this hotel!
