Reviews
While the hotel is an excellent venue to meet friends for coffee, it was not a good place to sleep.
This hotel is in such a beautiful location. I hope they will address the bedroom issues to improve the experience for future guests.
It's incredibly close to the airport.
Right across the street downstairs, there's a Burger King and a supermarket.
Walk a little further north, and you'll find two large shopping malls, making shopping very convenient.
For breakfast, the hotel advised that the first hour would be busy, but the non-rush hours were even more crowded, making it difficult to enjoy our meal.
Additionally, there was no kettle in the room; guests must go to the 11/F common area for hot water, which was extremely inconvenient.
On a positive note, the gym was reasonably good. The view from 11/F is stunning. Overall, while there were some highlights, key areas need improvement.
There is a grocery store 1 min walk away and a pharmacy 5 min walk away. The front desk, including a woman named Cilia, was very helpful in recommending suitable things to help. The windows are frosted over with ice, so the “view” that you’re paying for may not come through. I cracked open the window of my room to get this photo that you see. The rooftop viewing area has an outdoors part. I was able to see the Northern Lights outside the hotel at 5p before my flight Jan 23. Breakfast was decent, although I think I enjoy breakfast at the Moxy Bergen more. I recommend this hotel.
Our lovely room was spacious and felt homey, very relaxing. The breakfast spead is aWeSoMe -- it has everything you could need to power up for a day of Arctic adventuring. I liked that it was a short and easy bus ride to get to the city center, since that small remove from the city led to a feeling of tranquility and peace with my gaze focused on nature thanks to that stunning mountain landscape out the window.
I am very fortunate to have stayed at many hotels in Norway, and Moxy is by far the best managed hotel in Norway with the best staff. I won't get into the anthropological / cultural reasons why that's such an impressive feat, but it's an Olympian achievement. I'm so grateful to the warm, friendly, and helpful staff for making our stay such a phenomenal and memorable one and for making all our Arctic dreams come true!
