A few hundred meters walk to the main streets either side of the waterfront
Automatic lights in the bathroom were a novelty
They turned off almost instantly during the day when you were still using the facilities but at night stayed on around ten minutes when you were trying to sleep
Shuffleboard table and games in reception were fun
However, the room rate is very expensive in summer.
Alesund is a small city, a tourist city, and cruise ships bring batches of guests. There are several large stores where tax refunds can be made.
Hotel is nice by the waterfront, breakfast buffet good spread but same everyday.
A nice guy on checked out day was nice to offer a free coffee while waiting for my cab at 6am. He was the only nice one there-8/13.
