The Aro Palace Hotel has the most beautiful view in Brașov, indisputably and is located right in the historic center close to the cable car that goes up Tampa and close to all the terraces and restaurants in the old center. The hotel is not very luxurious and shows its age a little but the room is very ok, has a superb view and has all the amenities specific to a 5-star hotel. It is equipped with a Spa center and a beautiful indoor pool. The staff is ok, friendly and left me with a good impression. The breakfast is rich and with quality ingredients. Overall a good hotel, with an excellent location at a fair price. The parking price is a little steep (72 ron / day) but there is the possibility of parking in the numerous parking spaces of the city hall near the hotel for 24 ron / day.

This is such a beautiful, cozy, and elegant hotel. The cleanliness and friendly staff made us feel right at home. We loved the view of the fortress and the square in front of the hotel. The refreshing drinks were lovely. I highly recommend this hotel. We'll definitely book it again next time we visit. Thank you, Aro Palace, for making our stay unforgettable!

Lovely hotel - nice, helpful staff; cozy room with great view; 100/10 location, within walking distance to Council Square, Black Church, Castle on the hill (and pretty much everything); pretty view from the balcony; decent breakfast buffet with may different foods; the only slight issue is that the bathtub leaks when you shower to the floor will be wet

⭐ “Five Stars Only on Paper” ⭐

Calling this hotel 5-star is not misleading — it’s outright deceptive. In reality, this property barely meets 2-star standards, and even that is generous.

From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that the “luxury” branding is a façade. The rooms are tired, poorly maintained, and cheaply furnished, with visible wear, stains, and a complete lack of attention to detail. Cleanliness is inconsistent at best, and basic expectations — the kind you’d assume even in a budget hotel — are routinely ignored.

The service is where things truly collapse. Staff appear untrained, indifferent, and reactive rather than proactive. Requests are either misunderstood, delayed endlessly, or dismissed entirely. There is no sense of hospitality, no anticipation of guest needs, and certainly no professionalism associated with a 5-star establishment.

Facilities are underwhelming and poorly managed. Common areas feel neglected, amenities are either unavailable or functioning at minimal capacity, and the overall atmosphere is closer to a dated business hotel than a luxury resort. Nothing justifies the premium pricing.

What is most frustrating is the gap between promise and reality. Guests book expecting elegance, comfort, and high-level service — and receive mediocrity, inconvenience, and disappointment instead.

This hotel survives on inflated marketing and outdated ratings, not on actual quality. If you value your money, comfort, or time, look elsewhere. There are many genuine 4-star hotels that outperform this place in every possible way.

This is not a 5-star experience. It’s barely acceptable — and certainly not worth the price

As expected of an expensive hotel, the receptionists were very skilled.
I realized I had left something behind, but there was no service to arrange for it to be delivered (it was cash on delivery), and considering it was an expensive hotel, it was inflexible and inflexible, which was inconvenient and troublesome.

This hotel is located in the heart of Brasov's renowned Old Town, a popular tourist destination. It's extremely convenient to explore Eastern European architecture and restaurants on foot. The lobby of Hotel Aro Palace is quite elegant and very large. While not breathtakingly beautiful, you won't regret choosing to stay there. The hotel also boasts essential facilities such as a large heated swimming pool and a spacious sauna. This was my third stop on my Eastern European trip, Brasov, and I was very satisfied with Hotel Aro Palace. Note that parking is chargeable.
