The hotel just located next to the town, and the hotel provide free shuttle bus from/to the town. You could also walk ten minutes across the road directly to the Baikal lake. It's a decent hotel, good location and breakfast, but otherwise I don't think it's worth the money. There are plenty of options on the island with a similar level of service and at more affordable prices.

Everything is fine with the hotel - a new, excellent building, nice interior, everything is good with water, but you can hear everything very well, because the doors are very thin. The hotel has a great view from the balcony, and it also has its own restaurant with some of the best food on the island. Their fish soup is delicious, the desserts aren't too sweet, and you can even smoke hookah. In the morning, you might even see their friendly white dog.

The guesthouse on Oodo Island consists of three buildings. The rooms are reasonably spacious and have balconies. However, if you stay on the first floor, the soundproofing is poor, especially the creaking floorboards, which can wake you up from upstairs.

My arrival at Irkutsk could not be more untimely as i reached the train station only at 1500hrs. The travel from Irkutsk central to Olkhon Island is estimated to be 4.5 to 5 hrs. I reached the hotel late into the night. It was an expensive private arranged transport in a MPV ranged close to USD 200. The route after the ferry from mainland to Olkhon Island itself is unpaved. The biggest drawback of this hotel is that none of the rooms have WiFi.

The guesthouse was in a good location, not far from Shaman Rock on foot. The curtains in my room couldn't be drawn, and the barbecue area right outside the window had the lights on all night, which really tested my melatonin levels.

My son and I stayed in the room, which had three beds—so convenient! Two beds were for sleeping, and the other was for storage. There was also a table and chairs, perfect for doing homework or working. The bathroom and wardrobe were spacious too. The view from the window was beautiful; opening the window revealed a picturesque scene. The only downside was that breakfast wasn't included.
