The rooms are very nice, the place is new and cozy. Parking spaces are a bit far away, not so great of your feet are barely functioning after a day of hiking and climbing.
Breakfast is included in the price but is only served from 8 am, which is very late if you plan any serious outdoors activities, so we had to skip it. Would be nice to have it as optional. The rules of the hotel also say you shouldn't bring any food and drinks in the room - so if you are planning a very active holiday, waking up early and arriving late, it might not be for you. If you are planning something more comfortable, it's perfect. The bed was very comfy, I didn't want to get out ☺️

Stayed four nights in September at the Hotel Vandot. Rooms are a good size, really clean and the layout of the hotel is really good and you have minimal noise from other guests. Breakfast is top notch with lots of variety and highlights local produce, all of which is delicious. We really missed the breakfasts once we moved on! Staff are really friendly and helpful and gave us some good ideas and tips of things to do. Parking is either under the balcony or in the car parks adjacent to the tourist information which makes it super easy. There's an externally accesible ski/bike room too which we utilised after a very wet walk in the woods and this was very well equipped. Had an excellent stay here.

Nice stay at Hotel Vandit. Checking in was easy with the code for the door. Parking was just over the road at the 2 spaces were taken up, all organised for us. Breakfast was lovely with good coffee and lots of meats, cheeses and other lovely food. The town was great and we had a lovely dinner at the foot of the chair lift.

We stayed at Hotel Vandot last September during a walking holiday in the Julian Alps. Hard to believe this very modern hotel was a farmhouse with animals living in it 7-8 years ago. Maja and her husband took a lot of care and attention in renovating the property. The hotel is immaculate and clean. Beds and linens were good quality and shower pressure was strong. Breakfast showcased local products (yogurt from the village next to KG), cakes, homemade seasonal jams, homemade delicious smoothies, excellent coffee (her machine broke down when we were there and she asked the repairman to come pronto as coffee is so important to her guests!), local meats and cheeses, elderflower juice and regular breakfast items. She and her staff
Encouraged us to try all local delicacies. A wonderful stay with a great local business.

Fabulous hotel- what a real gem! Stayed three nights here in a lovely room with comfortable bed and excellent shower. The owner is lovely and helped with lots of walking suggestions ( stay here at least three nights as there are so many great walks) and nothing was too much trouble. One of the best places we have stayed. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Hotel Vandot. During my stay, I interacted with two women who were exceptionally service-minded and always smiling. They provided excellent advice for hiking in the area. I stayed for two nights and found the rooms to be very nice, clean, and equipped with the best beds. Although I was initially concerned about the lack of air conditioning, the floor cooling system worked perfectly, even in temperatures of 25-30 degrees.

Charming hotel, aircon would be welcome
Overall very nice room and hotel in a charming town. Breakfast selection was great and offer of parking for a small daily 5 eur fee. Bed was relatively comfortable. One very large pillow was not to my taste, would rather 2 normal sized ones. Lack of air con made sleeping tough, there was a fan but needed to open the window to cool down which lead to the noise of cars outside the room.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 week and enjoyed it very much, as everything worked as it should. The room was clean, the mattresses were great, we might have missed the balcony but we were outside most of the time. The breakfasts were also excellent, a huge choice, and of course, being big sauna lovers, we made the most of it. They have an infra sauna which is big enough for 4 people. We have to give a special mention to the staff, Kristina, who was over the reception desk and was very friendly and always available. And Tina, who made sure that we had a great breakfast and that we never ran out of anything. Both girls are excellent! I highly recommend the hotel and we will definitely be back :).
