Apelbaum in Seoul

Worse hostel I have ever stayed at. The room had no AC and was extremely hot nobody in my dorm room got any sleep during the night. There were mosquitoes everywhere and I have about 20 new bites after just one night here. I didn’t sleep through the entire night. The beds were hard and unstable with no curtains in mixed dorm rooms. Bathrooms were not clean. No staff during nighttime. I normally never leave reviews but I wish someone had warned me before booking a night with this hostel!

Advantages 1. The location is quite good, 500 meters from Hongik university station and 250 meters from bus stop. 2. Nice and friendly staff. They are helpful. 3. Cheap price 4. You can find a new friend here. Disadvantages 1. The bedroom is very dirty. The floor has a lot of dust and dirt. 2. There are 2 bathrooms on first floor for all guests. - Bigger one for shower + toilet - Smaller one and lower ceiling for shower + toilet + laundry (This room has foul smell from sewer) - Both rooms are dirty. 3. It’s very noisy hostel. 4. Locker fee 1,000 KRW for all of stay + deposit 10,000 KRW. You can get deposit back in staff hour (after 11 AM). 5. Free drinking water from tap water only. There is no drinking water filter machine. 6. Free towel is on requested ,not provided on bed. If you check in/come back after staff hour, you won’t have a towel. 7. There are no power outlets in some beds.

Wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. There's BLACK MOLD everywhere, water dripping from the ceiling, a strong smell of mold and poorly isolated. I got very sick from being there. The staff is not that friendly, you have to pay for everything lockers, towels, water etc., you can't see the room before you move in and the offer no refunds at all. (which probably should have been a red flag. Compared to the options in the area and Seoul, you'll get very little value for money. (unless you count in the infection you'll probably get)
