Zzzip Guesthouse in Hongdae in Seoul

Zzzip guesthouse made my trip to Seoul. It was my first time visiting this country and my first time travelling solo. The rooms are extremely clean, the position is optimal and the breakfast is good. Bryan and Jina are exceptional, always welcoming and ready to give you advice for anything you need (from hospitals to bbq places to baseball matches!). All the other members of staff, too, made me feel comfortable during my stay, and they created a great atmosphere where everyone could hang out. I met many people thanks to zzzip, and I really hope to come back!

We stayed 5 nights, with the lovely hosts Jina and Brian. They were great about giving local recommendations, and Jina took her time with us when we arrived to get us acquainted with the neighborhood. She also added us to a WhatsApp group chat to share links and connect with other guests, which was nice. Just be aware it's cash only; I had forgotten that upon arrival, so had to take out some more $$$. Rooms are cozy, but perfectly clean and we're really just here to crash for the night when not exploring Seoul. I'd stay here again! :)

Zzzip was possibly the best introduction to hostel living that I could have ever had as a solo female traveler. To start, Jina and Bryan were excellent hosts--very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The rest of the staff were also super kind, and one of them even helped me with figuring out the laundry.

I stayed in a private room, which was conveniently furnished and had a nice, spacious bathroom. You can feel right at home with the TV and A/C. For the more extroverted travelers, the common areas provide a great space to hang out and plan excursions. The breakfast area was well stocked with the essentials, and guests can even store food in the fridge for some time.

Regarding location, the shops and tourist spots of Hongdae are extremely close. You will get a mix of both local small businesses and the more recognizable chains. In my opinion, there's so much to do in this area that you will get FOMO or decision fatigue no matter what! I would definitely go back to Zzzip if I get the chance.

ZZZIP Guesthouse has provided me with the best experience I've ever had with travelling. I felt so at home and treated like family. They gave me a map, circled all the best restaurants, attractions and things to do. Plugged me into a Whatsapp group to easily meet fellow travellers, and I felt so comfortable talking to the hosts, Jina and Bryan. They make me want to travel more!
