You won't very often find me saying this in any review especially about a hotel. But I absolutely love this place. The rooms are very nice. The beds are very comfortable with very nice winter weight high quality wool blankets. The common communal areas are just wonderful. The staff are friendly. The food in the dining room is basic but well prepared. and very enjoyable. But for me the big features of this hotel are the ambience of the common areas throughout the hotel. The rooms are nice but I really enjoyed taking a nice cup of tea and sitting out in one of the common areas in the very comfortable armchairs and just enjoying my tea and listening to the Christmas music they had playing in the background. I could honestly spend all day just sitting in the common areas of the hotel reading a paper, a book, browsing the internet and having a tea. The location is directly across the street from the train station and adjacent to the main bus terminal. It's a 5-minute walk into the heart of the old town area with some great restaurants and good shopping. Its not Ritz Carlton but honestly just as pleasant and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet is wonderful as well. One feature of the bathrooms I especially found a plus is the toilet and bidet are in a small private area within the large bathroom and has a sliding door so you can share the bathroom and still have privy privacy. Architect was brilliant. The bathroom fixtures are older high quality and function perfectly. Shower is wonderful plenty of pressure with steady even temperature. Towels are heavy high quality especially the large bath sheet towels. For everything that really matters in a hotel experience this hotel has it perfectly. In truth its rare to find this level of quality comfort stay except in the high end luxury properties. My compliments, as a former hotel owner, to the current owners, management and staff. Only one complaint. No soap dispenser by the bidet.

The male receptionist spoke extremely loudly. The room I was given is a connecting room. Even though the door is locked, I can hear everything the neighbors say. The balcony opens directly onto the parking lot, where there is constant loud noise from reversing beeps. It was impossible to rest.When I asked to change rooms, he immediately cut me off and said there were no rooms available. When I told him he was being rude, he just brushed me off.I strongly warn Spanish customers or tourists not to stay here, esp. the connecting room, as the service is extremely unprofessional. PS. only one elevator with the buttom lights not working.

Located about 5 minutes from the ferry port and next to the bus station. A nice quiet hotel with spacious comfortable rooms. Good quality breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Would certainly stay here again.

A perfect place for a short stay, walking distance to Port of Algeciras, Railway Station, bus station, but pretty quiet for relaxing. The room is spacious, just renovated recently. Recommended.

After reading the negative reviews I was a bit hesitant, but honestly, everything was fine for us. It was nice to be able to park in the garage nearby (yes, you have to pay). The rooms feel a bit dated, but theyre clean and comfy. The bed was nice and spacious. I didn't hear too much noise, but our room overlooked the street, not the bus station. Breakfast was fine. Enough to choose from. Is it a luxury 4 star hotel? No, not necessarily. Is it a good and clean place to stay after or before taking a ferry? Absolutely.

Super friendly receptionist with excellent recommendation for a restaurant. Location is also very good: train station, port, intercity bus station and city center nearby.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say it was a terrible experience.
From the moment I arrived, there were problems. The reception staff was unhelpful.
Online it stated that parking was included, but when we arrived, the lot was "full" and we had to search for a parking garage, hoping it would be a safe one. Nothing was reimbursed.
The bathroom was not clean; there were mold stains on the side of the tub. It was dirty and unkempt.
If it were possible to give 0 stars, I definitely would. Never booking this hotel again!

My stay at Mir Octavio was disappointing and absolutely not recommended. From the moment of check-in to check-out, there were numerous problems.
Firstly, the staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. It seemed like they had no interest in the guests.
We had specifically booked this hotel for its parking facilities, but upon arrival, we were told that no parking spaces were available. This caused a lot of inconvenience as we had to spend a long time searching for an affordable and safe parking spot nearby.
Furthermore, you can see from the photos what the hotel itself looked like.
In short, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Don't waste your money here and find another hotel that is worth it.
