The first and most pleasant accommodation on our Andalusia trip. The hosts manage to make every guest feel at home and take personal care of each one. The room was very spacious and warmly furnished while the bathroom with its large shower was also decorated in warm colors. The hosts serve a generous breakfast directly at the table. The house is located right next to the excavation site of an Arab bath, which is well worth a visit. Adjacent to it is an ancient bridge with a magnificent view of the gorge that divides the town into an old center and a newer part. In future it will be possible to walk into on a skywalk which is still in work. A short, direct path leads from the house up to the old town of Ronda, a visit to which was certainly a highlight of our trip. Caution is advised in heavy rain, as a small waterfall can sometimes flood the path. It's best to turn left just before reaching the waterfall into the old churchyard and then follow the path along the foundations of the old walls up to the town center.

This is a must stay. My daughter lives in Spain and told us we had to stay at this hotel. Amazing place. We have a room with a terrace. Beautiful gardens and stables. Relaxing community room comfortable chairs to read, play games, chat with fellow travelers, etc. Breakfast included isn't standard. All served eggs, toast, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, and coffee. The only down side is you have to walk up and down into town so if you have limited mobility, this may not be your place. Did I mention an honesty bar where you pour your own drinks and just pay at the end of your stay.

We just randomly booked this place as it was inexpensive and were so nicely surprised. The staff was super nice, the hotel it extremely cute, and its location is excellent if you dont mind a short walk up a large hill.

Lovely place to stay! A small, beautiful hotel in a quiet position away from the main town but next door to Banos Arabes ( the old Moorish baths). We had poor weather during our stay in September and were not able to enjoy the pool, beautiful gardens or terrace outside our room. However, it was a nice cosy place to stay tucked up with a large glass of wine courtesy of the honesty bar! Fortunately the rain stayed away each morning so we had breakfast on the outside terrace and it was excellent. The hotel is well placed for visiting the town as there are steps across the road and it's an easy walk. It is quite steep though and not that well lit after dark. Probably not ideal for anyone who has problems walking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Alavera de Los Baños. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We liked our quiet location at the bottom of the hill. Free parking was a bonus. We think the lounge with the Honesty Bar was our favorite.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Quiet and comfortable location at the bottom of the town with free parking! We did not mind the walk up the steps to the main road. Angela at the front desk was so kind and helped us with laundry service and booking a wine tasting in a nearby town. Christian was also very nice. We enjoyed the ‘honesty bar’ and lovely sitting area. The patio off our bedroom was great. The breakfast staff was great and we enjoyed our meals there each morning. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

A gem of a place! Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely gardens, lovely large suite room with balcony and such friendly staff. Parking is easy with a private area 10 meters along the road. Don’t be put off by the 1 star this is purely down to there being no phones or tv in the room (who cares), reception not 24 hours and no dedicated bar. For the latter there is an honesty bar with a great selection of drinks. Perfect location with Ronda old town just 5 mins up the hill.

I have no idea how this establishment gets a 4.7 rating.
While the bedroom itself was OK the bathroom was terrible.
The shower cubicle was too small, even for my compact 78kg frame. Imagine a rhomboid shape 60cm widest and 45cm narrowest. A shower curtain that you keep getting tangled in.
We also had an issue with a pungent sewerage smell from either the shower drain or the sink drain. It was eye-watering
We had to report the issue twice. The first time their fix was to put a plug in the sink with little improvement. The 2nd time it was better but still not great.
The position at the bottom of the hill isn't great and I noticed many others struggled to walk up the hill to the town.
On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the pool and garden area very nice.
Breakfast was adequate in size and taste but nothing to get excited about.
I do not recommend unless you have a car and need the free parking.

Hotel Alavera de los Baños is a true hidden gem in Ronda. Peaceful location, beautiful rooms, and a lovely garden make it unforgettable. The breakfast is delicious and the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. Perfect place to relax and enjoy Andalusia!

We had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Alavera de los Banos. It is an old, traditional style home with a wonderful garden out back for relaxing. The large living room is an enjoyable place for sitting and curling up with a book, or enjoying a drink from their honesty bar. The rooms are small and not updated, but everything is clean. The hotel lies just outside the historic core at the bottom of the hill, so is in a quiet location. It is a pretty steep hike up to the center, so if walking is an issue, this may not be the place for you. The staff was helpful with answering our questions.

Great tasty food for a good price. The waiter didn't speak english what was no problem at all.

Poor service, the waiter didn't speak English (I asked the wine list, he didn't understand). First glass of wine was replaced because it was from the bottle opened long ago. Food is very average. Great view if you come before nine. No WIFI. From 8pm till 11p.m we were the only guests on Saturday Evening. Michelin? I doubt it.

Thought the Michelin star meant great food.
Was bitterly disappointed. Decent wine with amazing view on small terrace that smelled of cat pee.
