Boutique Hotel OLOM in Cadiz

The pool in front of the cathedral is real 😁 the hotel is great for the price. You just might want to skip the evening “menu” as the city has loads of better restaurants.

If you want to be in the thick of things this is probably the best hotel to stay at. The location is hard to beat - situated on the main cathedral square directly opposite the cathedral and within 5 minutes walk to many of the top attractions such as the central market, Torre Tavira, Plaza de San Juan de Dios, the ocean promenade, Teatro Romano....
The hotel is set on 4 levels. The 4th level houses the rooftop patio and swimming pool. There are also 2 rooms on this level which is where I stayed. Rooms either have a view of the cathedral and square which is lovely or a view of a deserted site and rooftops. The downside of the cathedral view side is that it can be noisy at night and with the heat you want to leave your windows open. I stayed on the side without a view and it was so quiet which I loved. I could always walk a few steps to the rooftop patio if I wanted the view.
The rooms are spacious and well appointed. However due to covid many of the extras you are used to seeing aren't there (hairdryers, ironing boards etc). However when you check in they tell you that if you need anything just let them know and they will provide it - which I thought was a good way to make things safer. The rooms do have a safe and a fridge and lots of space to unpack your clothes. Comments that the rooms are getting a little dated are probably fair but many hotels are delaying renovations until tourism numbers pick up again - which again is a smart business decision.
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and you can store luggage for as long as you like. Its about a 10 minute walk to the train station and is quicker than taking a car given the narrow streets and one-way traffic systems.

Fantastic rooftop terrace and pool ! Had a room on the 3rd floor with a view over the cathedral, the room was modern with 2 large windows and a balcony. We were very happy about our stay !

Tastefully decorated modern hotel right in Cathedral square, stunning location. Rooftop terrace with pool, good quality breakfast. Closest parking was about 10mins walk (is underground), about 17EUR a day, the square is only open to taxis so be mindful if you have luggage!

Good restaurant in hotel. Tucked away nice modern surroundings. Great meal of the day at 12 euros. 3 choices for each course. Good service. A little gem

Great location to spend a few days in Cadiz. Breakfast good, staff friendly and hotel kept clean.
