Hotel Condal in Salamanca

The staff are very nice and are very accomodating. The hotel is very close to the shopping area, the plaza mayor and all other major shops, museums, etc. Everything was accessible and you can just walk your way around the city. Our check-in time was 14:00 but we arrived earlier. We had suitcases but the male front desk staff allowed us to leave our things while we were out so we didn't have to carry them until 2pm. Hats off to the staff! The cleaning lady was very courteous and nice too. The room TV was quite small but overall, it's a good hotel with a budget friendly price!

Pros:
The price! We only paid €80 for two rooms on a weekday in October.
The view! From the 6th floor we had a beautiful city view.
The location - very central and pretty quiet at night.
The friendly reception staff, the cleanliness, and the charming traditional look.
Thanks to the metal shutters, you can block out a lot of sunlight, heat and noise.
Check-in is at 14 and check-out is at 12 which is great if you arrive early and like to sleep in!

Cons:
The AC didn’t work, possibly because it was centrally turned off since it was the end of October. The room was a bit warm and stuffy though.
The mattress was only 190x140 cm, hard, old and sloped towards the middle. My parents had a softer and probably newer mattress, the one in room 607 should definitely be replaced.
Sound insulation is very poor as others have remarked - we could hear my parents in the room next door.

Neutral:
Shower pressure wasn’t great but in an older building on the 6th floor that’s understandable - temperature was good.
Elevator barely fits 4 people and their luggage but we never had to wait for longer than a minute.
We would have strongly preferred a firmer and bigger pillow but that’s personal preference.

All in all, a good choice for budget travellers! Only an 18 min walk from the train station.

Great value for money! Nice hotel in the center of Salamanca, we stay 2 nights and it’s right next to the main shopping street, over 5 minutes walking till the main square and surrounded by everything u need for comfy staying, with comfortable beds and very charming staff.

Wonderful hotel, lovely staff especially Nur and Belén who are very friendly and attentive. No hesitation in staying there every time I am in Salamanca. I plan to stay in this hotel in October. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The prices are very affordable and the room very comfortable.
