The Barcelona Aquarium (Catalan: Aquàrium Barcelona) is an aquarium located in Barcelona, Catalonia.

It is placed in the Port Vell and has 35 different aquariums, 11.000 animals of 450 different species and an underwater tunnel of 80 meters. The aquarium is part of the Aspro Group. It has a good collection of fresh-water sharks. Even got a glimpse of penguins. A couple of very rare species of sea-horses are there too. I visited the place with my wife and her parents. In my opinion its a place for kids to enjoy, we did not find that exiting. And the Aquarium is quite small given the touristic advertisement it has. However I would recommend this place if you have kids, they will love it.

The underwater tunnel was a lovely experience and that was very much the highlight. Perhaps it's a little dated, but I would like to see more information about conservation perhaps?

There are way more things you could do with your €20 if you're just visiting the city.

The animals seem reasonably taken care of - as far as I can judge. But the tanks are small for the big fish and an aquarium with this many visitors should be more dedicated to preservation! "Awareness" is pushed into the farthest, smallest corner.
Do the fish a favour, take the 20€ and donate them to a worthy cause.

A great place and easy to get to. Lots of exhibits in a relatively small area covering shallow waters to deep ocean. At the end, you can squeeze into the mouth of a (model) whale to see jellyfish exhibits

This is overall a nice place but it did make me quite sad as a few of the creatures look injured and unhealthy, the penguins are in a completely unsuitable environment and was really sad to see the poor thing stuck there, they're 'tank' was filthy as were many throughout the place. The Sharks looked unwell, there are humpbacks then there's them :( and many with cuts and looking ill and the cafe and drinks here are ridiculously overpriced, 9€ for a chicken burger! And 3.50€ for a small water. Did not purchase food from here. But there was a variety of fish and the sea tunnel was cool, but overall a short and not great experience.

Fun place to take your children. Educational part of the museum is interesting for adults too -led map of the Earths tectonic plates, volcanos and ocean currents was fun. We enjoyed the jellyfish and the penguin feeding. Rare corrals and fish from the Great barrier reef.

Like the beginning of the aquarium is not bad. The scope is not too bad but very little. But the 2nd floor is a gesture.... penguins is sadness... if you ribofl like... and so do you and miss I think Valencia is better. As if there was not 5 here is not really to put

Really cool place, one of the must to visit! Regardless of age I am sure that you will not regret visiting this aquarium. There are discounts for children and seniors, as well discount coupons.

Interesting place, but the collection is not much, and the underwater tunnel is not particularly impressive size.

This place is an abomination to the human species. The fish are in such small tanks and, therefore, they look so dead its not even remotely amusing to watch. The tour is so short and quiet frankly useless. This place is made more for kids (and the only reason why you'd take your kids there is if you want them to grow up to be horrible little creatures who will manifest their lives in ruining the environment just like this aquarium is doing).
Do me a favor and take your kids to watch Finding Dory first before going to this place. Other than it being an amazing movie, maybe then they'll realize how horrible it is of an organization and their little innocent human heart will tell them to not go.
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
Think about what you would like to know if you were looking for a review about a place to relax. Please describe in detail what you liked and what you didn't. What would you advise to other guests and to the hotel owner. The more fully you tell about the hotel, the easier it will be for other people to make a choice and they will be very grateful to you!
