Stayed at the Blue Elephant with 2 others couples for the last two days of our holiday. Had a first floor balcony room that was a decent size and spotlessly clean. Restaurant food and drink was fine and the pool was a bonus to cool off in. Short walk from beach front with its hotels, bars and restaurants. About a 20 minute tuk-tuk ride from Negombo itself with its shops, Dutch Fort and fish market (very smelly!) We used this as a close transit point to the airport. It seems that the fast road heading south has resulted in many people neglecting the area as a holiday destination in its own right. The Blue Elephant was ideal for us!

What a little gem of a hotel, very clean, very comfortable bed, excellent staff and the Tusk breakfast fresh every day, you must try the Sri Lankan Breakfast (when in Rome) i was that impressed i stayed for 2 weeks and tried most of the Tusks evening menu, as soon as i got to the pool the staff were behind me with cushion and towel, just book it

I highly recommend the Blue Elephant Hotel! Quiet location, clean, spacious rooms with a large bathroom/toilet. My lovely little balcony offered me a view of beautiful trees! Small library. Good food! Clean pool. Cozy atmosphere. Close to the airport. Friendly staff! Sidarth from the staff was my personal contact at the hotel. Sidharth is a kind, friendly, and always helpful person, who is happy to fulfill guests' wishes. Tip: In the building right next door to the hotel, you can enjoy relaxing treatments/massages performed by Dr. Kusum Ranathunga herself! We stayed just the one night as part of a stop over. Warm welcome, excellent room and homely feel around the hotel. Tidy pool, restaurant was excellent! My wife and daughter were unwell and all staff were really accommodating and looked after us so we well we are very grateful. Thank you!

If you're in the mood for something a little different and full of personality, look no further. This charming little gem is a delightful mix of eccentricity, creativity, and comfort, offering an experience that’s as unique as its decor. Every inch of this small well run hotel tells a story. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted by vibrant colours, mismatched furniture, and funky art pieces scattered throughout the lobby. It’s a place where no two rooms are alike. Despite being in the middle of a busy city the garden is tranquil and a lovely spot to watch the fruit bats float by as the sun sets. What makes this place truly special, however, is the staff. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about their hotel.

Staff very welcoming, good food, we were lucky to be there when a church festival was on which was lovely to see and the hotel had a good shower and beds were fine with air con and a small pool and central to everything and my only comment small in comparison to the good things is doors could do with a clean inside where everyone goes in and out just something I noticed but fridge also a bonus and a veranda too - a very fair price for a place to stay clean sheets comfy bed and nice food - we also had a musician playing the night we were there also a nice part of our experience for day one of our trip! Helpful and lovely decor doors on bedrooms and in hotel - felt like Sri Lanka.

Arriving on a late flight into Colombo, it was a 20 minute drive to the hotel. We stayed for one night. Unfortunately the aircon in our room wasn't working, so we became acclimatised quickly with the use of a fan. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the breakfast good

Nice little hotel for quick stopover, we were booked into this hotel by Resfeber Holidays, we were on a tour of Sri Lanka and landed at 3am from London, the first main hotel of our tour was not ready for early check, so Resfeber Holidays booked us into this hotel to have a sleep and breakfast at no extra cost to us. We arrived at hotel around 4.30am, was welcomed warmly and fast check-in. Room was nice with plenty of bottled water and well appointed with tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent and well presented.

Had a lovely stay here, pool was really nice and the children loved splashing around in this. The breakfast was nice, although if staying a few days it might be nice to have a bit of variation but it was perfectly good. Food in the restaurant was tasty and well priced with a nice variety to choose from. Rooms were really nice, great location close to busy area but far enough away to be quiet at night. Staff really friendly and helpful. Would stay again and would recommend
