According to my experience I have both good and bad comments, the place had some issues.
Some locks were broken in one of the rooms we booked. But I have to thank for the management tongiving us another room which is a family room for the same price.
They usually cook only when the guests request for the meal. So, you have to pre-order meals.

A very unpleasant experience. Bedsheets were dirty, towels were dirty, there was(and probably still is) fungus in the bathroom, the room smelled badly, the heater was there, the breakfast was mediocre.
Heaters were there so we could control the room temperature. Bed and bedsheets were clean. In the morning had a bit of a trouble with water heating in the bathroom. After calling them it was settled.
Great hotel in Nuwara Eliya. Excellent value for money, centrally located, beautiful modern facilities. We Stay Room No 06 That's Very Good Room.

The worset hotel ever. We faced a bad experience cz our money was stolen while we were down in the restaurant having our breakfast. Had to involve the police too bt the hotel owner acted like we stole their money. Can't recommend this place for anyone.?
La Cottage Hotel is owning a unique style and views. A quick drive from the town of Nuweraeliya. Rooms are well cleaned but they need to focus on the washroom and hotwater. It struck sometimes. You can go with family definitely they will enjoy the place and the services of staff. Very good hospitality and room service. I wonder of staff hospitality and their services. They treat us magnificently. Thanks again to the Management. Wanna visit again.
