A-Te Chumphon Hotel in Chumphon City

I stayed at A Te Hotel Chumphon for one night. For the price, I think the hotel is pretty reasonable. The room was okay and clean, and the breakfast was also fine. Mostly Thai options, so don’t expect the kind of breakfast you get in big city hotels like Bangkok or Phuket, but for Chumphon it was acceptable.

What really disappointed me happened during checkout. It started raining very heavily. I waited in the lobby for more than an hour hoping the rain would slow down, but it didn’t. My car was parked around 200 meters away from the lobby in an open parking area.

During all that time, not a single staff member asked if I needed an umbrella or help to get to my car. I noticed they were helping other guests — one couple came with a Lamborghini, and staff immediately gave them umbrellas and walked them to their car, even though their car was parked very close to the lobby.

But for me, no one asked anything. I eventually walked to my car in the heavy rain and got completely soaked. No staff even looked or tried to help. Honestly, that part made me feel really disappointed because hospitality should be for everyone, not only for certain guests.

If the hotel can improve the way they treat guests during situations like this, it would really make a big difference. Apart from that, the stay was okay for the price.
