I completed my Open Water course with Tan and had a fantastic time. I was a little nervous having never dived before, but Tan was a very reassuring, friendly and patient instructor and I felt very safe at all times. The Dearly is a great hostel - really social and laid back, with very good facilities and services like free shuttles every day and of course diving. I highly recommend it.

The staff there are all very nice, the place is clean and convenient for getting around. There’s also a motorbike rental shop nearby.

This guesthouse is pretty good. I liked that there's a lot of open space – the rooms open onto outdoor terraces and have balcony access. There's greenery all around, and you can barely hear any road noise. There's also a large hall on the first floor, and breakfast is included. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the city center.

Hostel 10/10 ⭐ The hostel offers a lot of activities. There's a shuttle that takes you to the beach at 1:30 PM and picks you up at 4 PM. The beaches change every day, which is a nice touch. we liked everything, but the breakfast was so basic and not tasty:( also the way to the room was sooooo hard, like it takes solid 5 minutes to walk up all those stairs but the whole area is nice, they have a cool pool with an opportunity to learn how to dive. the territory of the hostel is also pretty nice, we enjoyed it

Thank you Savage Hostel!! Definitely one of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in, super clean everywhere - including bathrooms!! Comfy bed, hot showers and free cold drinking water. Rooftop pool + bar nice to chill by. Staff were friendly and helpful if you need anything. Special shoutout to the hostel manager Rosie who was suuuuuuuper helpful in helping me find my passport haha. Would stay again!!

This is bar far the nicest hostel on the island. We are travellers in our mid 30’s and it was much better for us than the other hostels which are for much younger travellers. The suite room was stunning, I would 100% stay again.

Good location, great pool area with views but there was little atmosphere, the bed area was very nice but the room was dark and cold, I ate there once and it didn't impress me much. Modern hostel but it lacks character, comfortable stay but I wouldn't return.

We booked the box bed. The dorms are really clean, and the bathrooms are spacious and separate from the toilets. The location, though, is not the best. I would recommend staying somewhere closer to Sairee Beach if you want to go out.

It’s located right by the port. The rooms are quite comfortable, and it was nice to get fresh water and toilet paper every day — a simple but appreciated detail. The outdoor shower was great, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

If booking the 10 bed dorm, expect it to be a 20 beds with an invisible wall claiming it's 2 separate rooms. It wouldn't have been an issue if we'd known at the time of booking. The curtain on the top bunk doesn't close due to the ladder on one side so I ended up having to make a makeshift curtain from the towel so everyone coming through the door couldn't look into my bunk. I had a great stay here and kept extending as I liked it so much. The rooms are lovely and very cool which is perfect for the weather, the beds are comfortable and there’s lots of space for bags etc. Other facilities are good the bathrooms are spotless and designed well. Nice rooms. They should worry less about folding towels neatly and focus on hoovering or mopping the floors. The staff were very disinterested.

White Jail is our favorite Hostel! We stayed at a few other hostels on Koh Tao but White Jail was our favorite by far. It was very affordable- one of the less expensive hostels and it included breakfast. This was usually fresh fruit, bread with toppings, a whole tea/ coffee station, and these yummy fried dough things. This breakfast bar would be available a good portion of the day which was very generous...

It's very close to the beach and I met some pretty good friends.

The booking, on place is a bit unorganized and confusing,so it's better to book online. The staff is pretty friendly. There is a rooftop with lounges and hummocks, but without a fan (it can get a bit hot). Just 15m away there is a pool and a restaurant bar, what is good cause the beach isn't one of the best.

Budget option. Not the cleanest place we stayed for the price. Beds are pretty uncomfortable too. WiFi is slow when hostel is busy. Ac is great tho. Probably would stay somewhere else next time.

Great centrally located hostel, but on as quiet street. Feels small but a lot of people to hang out with. Free towels and comfy beds, very good value!

Pretty nice Hostel. Beds are really comfortable, Aircon works fine and the staff is pretty lovely and helped us out with every problem we had. Just the WiFi could work better, but nevermind. Price was totally alright as well, I would stay here definitely again!

Overall a good experience, the location is fantastic, just 2min from the beach and bars, but still in a quite calm street. I stayed in a 8 bed dorm, got a towel, fresh sheets and a personal locker with check-in. The facilities aren't great though, the shower and toilets sometimes quite dirt. But staff is really nice and helpful, 24/7 desk which is always nice. Could definitely recommend a stay there

This hostel is an amazing place to stay as the staff are really friendly and you will have plenty of chances to meet new people and make friends. There is also a bar adjoined to the hostel so you can sit and relax outside and get a couple of drinks as well. For those diving, you can also dry your stuff on the roof as there is space for that. It’s hard to describe this place in a review. First of all the location is just perfect. 7 min drive from Main pub street. 5 min walk from the ferry. 1min walk from 7/11. This hostel and the people I met in it were the reason I stayed in Koh Tao for 3 weeks when I was only supposed to be there for one week. Pimpim, Tun, and Hima are the long-term staff that I came to know and they are all so amazing. Loft hostel was my home for a little while thanks to them and all the wonderful people I met in that hostel. Such a fun time.

There's no restaurant or cafe. Bring your groceries from the city; stores are very far away. There are frying pans, a gas stove, a large refrigerator, and you can eat at the cafe on the neighboring beach across the mountain. It's completely unsanitary, like in Goa, but the food is delicious. We first came to the hotel by chance, 3 years ago and fell in love with this place for its natural beauty. You have to understand that building a hotel on a cliff, in the jungle, right by the sea, and for everything to work, it must be something brilliant. And for the third time on Koh Tao we choose to stay here, for the third year in a row. We will come back again.

Beautiful location, in the middle of nowhere.... Apartment was spacious, but very basic. The view made up for everything.

Beautiful room which was outside and with stunning views of the bay. Snorkelling was good there too. Be mindful of steps - there are a lot and they killed my legs off but was a sacrifice for the view. Could do with more fans and one of the fans the wire was broken so unable to use it. Also, would be a good idea to put the fridge on before customers get there so the fridge is actually cool.

Great location in terms of everything being walking distance like great food spots, 7/11, bars, beach and excersions. However it is located right on a strip so it is extremely loud on a night, we changed rooms after our first night as we literally could not fall asleep. The rooms are clean and modern.

Very much noise because it’s in the Main Street area, would recommend only 1 or 2 nights here. Get earplugs! But very nice room and friendly staff

Great location with lots of clubs and restaurants near by and the room was perfect for what you need, only one thing to keep in mind you will hear the music from the clubs till late and you can hear the chairs moving about from the restaurant upstairs but apart from that a good place to stay.

Its a okay hostel with great location. The hostel is right by the bar where they organize the pub crawl, which we so recommend doing, we had the best time there. If you don’t really like to go out, you should probably avoid this hostel, it’s only because you can hear loud music until early in the morning. Lovely hostel. Booked this with scuba club koh tao and wasn’t sure what to expect. Its very reasonably priced for a hostel of great quality and comfort. This hostel has comfortable beds, spacious rooms, clean and enough bathrooms, good rootop with hammocks, water refill stations and lovely staff. What else can you ask for?

Five minute walk from the pier. We stayed in a private room. The room was big, had a lot of place for storage, chairs, big windows and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious with warm water all of the time. The staff leaves water and toilet paper outside your door every day. There is even a shared rooftop with a nice sun set view. We stayed one night to experience Koh Tao. For one night totally fine. Room had everything you needed but was not really spacious. Service was nice as we came in spontaneously and still got a room very quick. Very close to the harbour.

The dorm was really clean, the beds were comfortable, the privacy was great, and there was a clothes drying rack on the small balcony :) They clean daily and changed the bedding every 4 days. (Careful not to leave important receipts out without taking a photo, they might get thrown out!) Stayed in a couple of hostels while I was in Koh Tao and this was by far the best. The manager Teuan went great lengths to help me even with the smallest problems.
