Hotels with beach in Ko Tao Island

The open water diving course is about 400 dollars for 4 days, which I consider very affordable compared to the whole experience you get yourselves and the hard work everyone put into from instructors to the equipment washing crews

We did the Padi Open Water Course here - Kiki was our instructor, and was amazing! Such a good teacher, we asked for her to do our advanced course as well! We stayed in Dorm rooms for three nights and a standard double for two nights

We even met someone who trained with her last year and wanted her to do their advanced with her and I can see why! Rooms are good- we stayed in the 12 bed (it had curtains, a light and a shelf) and a private and both were nice

The location is also very convenient to 7-eleven and many good cheap restaurants. By all the means, I highly recommend the school, and if you are going here for school anyway, you can just stay at the dorm here

And the accommodation is 6 dollars a night. Yes, it is 6 dollars a night without any zeros. It is a dormitory style yet it is surprisingly clean and quiet

KiKi was so relaxed it made the whole experience really chilled

Im very happy to stayed at this hotel because the beach is great , I would say one of the best on the island ! You have everything you need there ( restaurant, spa , beach , 2 bars , swimming pool)

On the beach you can book a trip around an island for snorkeling. The restaurant is a bot pricey comparing to other places on the island but you always can get a taxi or rent a scooter

Amazing service staff and the beach was absolutely beautiful. Well worth the trip there!! Food was also great - get the bbq / grilled seafood!

We paid for an upgrade from a Sea Balcony Room to an Ocean Balcony Room, but the view of the beach was very poor. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend paying for the upgrade. The hotel offers several activities like kayaking

They help you rent a scooter since the hotel is located far from town. There is a transfer service to the city center three times a day. The beach is one of the best in Koh Tao

Wonderful hotel with an incredible view. Located just 10 minutes from the promenade, and the transfer from the pier was a very nice and convenient touch. We really enjoyed our stay.

One of the best hotels in Koh Tao. We had an amazing view on the sea. The hotel itself is a little bit old, but it was taken good care. I would recommend staying there

Environment: Absolutely stunning, both the hotel and the ocean views are beautiful. I personally saw staff doing a very rough job of cleaning

The spa, in particular, had very dirty shower areas! Facilities: Extremely outdated. Chairs were wobbly and clearly haven't been maintained at all. Service: The staff were still very good and enthusiastic

The view is fantastic, but beware if you have reduced mobility; there are many steps between the beach, pool, rooms, and restaurant

The only thing we didn’t like were some ants in the bed lining. We saw a couple of them during our stay

One thing I really loved is that they provide a snorkeling mask for free in the room as part of the facilities, and also a large beach straw tote, which is really convenient so you can just grab everything and go straight down to the water

Best location on Kao Tao with private beach, standard room facilities which I expected more for drinking water rather than all fancy drinks.

This is the best place I've ever stayed. It had a large room with a wonderful view of a private snorkeling spot, a beach, and a restaurant that wasn't crowded

The area around the beach is great for snorkeling too. I stayed in a villa, and the room was really nice and spacious. The bed was very comfy, and the pillow was low, which I personally love

Since I couldn't get around easily, I called reception, and literally two minutes later, a little taxi took us wherever we wanted to go—restaurants, the pool, the mini-market

Overall, Sai Daeng Resort is perfect if you want a quiet, private, full-service stay with lots of activities, direct beach access, and great food. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Tao

A good location and ideal for the pier  Was a little noisy but we were warned about this  Fitted our objective of an overnight stay before travelling  The food in the restaurant is good and inexpensive  The owners are very friendly and the beach is really good  Rooms dated but acceptable

Very nice and right on the beach. A bit far from everything but scooters are everywhere so it’s easy.

The hotel restaurant is on the beach, very close to the rooms. The grounds are small but clean. The rooms aren't always cleaned thoroughly. Reception can arrange taxis and boat tours

Two 22 year olds staying here for one night before an early ferry in the twin bungalow. Great reset from travelling, comfy beds, clean bathroom, quiet with a great pool.

The resort was within walking distance of the pier, at the end of the road to the right when disembarking from the ferry

Great location (just be aware, music till midnight, and one night till 2:30am) close to everything you would need. Great restaurants/places to eat and drink all around

The most expensive night at Koh Tao. $26 a night for a bunk bed is not a good deal, in my opinion, but was necessary as everything else was booked

It is very loud at night though because the windows don’t filter any noise from the clubs along the beach. So consider packing ear plugs

Decent bed, shower/toilets, but no bed curtains, and room not well-maintained

I stayed at their hostel room only because there was no other option as the island was fully booked. Pools looked nice, the breakfast view was fantastic, staff were nice

You can even dine on the beach if the tide is out, which was so beautiful during sunset! Breakfast was simple but the eggs were fresh and there was always good coffee, yummy bread and fruit

A very pleasant hotel, was a holiday on holiday kind of feel. Negative - a very dangerous, unusable treadmill was still allowed to be used by guests in the gym. Belt needs to be tensioned or replaced

The resort was in a fabulous location! Close to all the shops and restaurants without being in the thick of things! Lovely restaurant with really excellent food for lunch and dinner

Our a/c went out one day and the staff fixed it within a half hour. Everything was clean and the pool was nice. Scooter rentals right at the hotel if you’re brave enough

It is a fabulous location with sweet staff and very good food. A lot of climbing up and down so you need to be reasonably fit. There is a small beach with excellent snorkeling. The minus is the quality of the beds

Everything was perfect during our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we even received a complimentary upgrade to a different bungalow. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Our stay in Hillside resort was very good. It's quite place, no many people, great for relax. View from bungalow is excellent 👌💯 If we come again to Koh Tao in the future... for sure we stay here.

The room and furniture quite old. And air conditioning was not working well. However, the view and resort public area is good.

The resort has a nice atmosphere, but there is no bidet and the room I got was a bit far away. I walked until I was out of breath. 🥵

It was a long way from the port, so you had to take a taxi. The tap water was either cold or hot, and it was impossible to regulate. The bungalow door was problematic, as even when locked, it could be easily opened

The bungalows were minimalistic; there wasn't a single table or chair in the bungalow. A plus for the canopy, as without it it would have been difficult due to bugs and geckos

Anyone can enter the resort; no one checks who enters, so it's not just guests who are there, which, given the inability to lock the doors, creates additional discomfort

Very uncomfortable and definitely something that could be improved. The walk down to the beach and back is quite exhausting with a lot of stairs

The reason : the front desk (where the phone is) is closed so the reception is at the restaurant (but no phone there). They could transfer calls to a mobile phone

During a long stay, linen was changed only once, and it was a gray set. Pillowcases weren't changed automatically; you had to ask. The air conditioner isn't working properly; it's dusty and moldy inside

Apparently, it hasn't been cleaned in 14 years. The path to the sea is shared, and the beach is overcrowded

Lovely stay, amazing views, staff were great, tasty food, walk down to beach lovely through nature, not too far, only 5 minutes if you are fit. Great for kids with pool table and table tennis

Cons: I booked two nights, but when I checked in, I was given room 304 and told I had to check out the next day and move to room 301. I believe this kind of behavior by hotel staff is unacceptable

There’re two swimming pools at the hotel, one of them is very deep, more than 5 meters in some parts. A la carte menu during lunch and dinner time was delicious too

Pros: I liked the hotel's location, the cleanliness of the room and grounds, and the pools with stunning views of the bay

It is very difficult to evaluate the hotel as everything depends on the room you have chosen, there is construction on the territory and this concerns not only this hotel but the whole Siri Beach

We had an okay stay at AC 2 resort the room was reasonably clean however had a couple of patches of mould. The resort is lovely though looks very appealing and is in the perfect location

View of the work, too bad, apart from that, the room was clean and very original, breakfast taken at the hotel on the beach

However, had an issue with our room where someone else had been put in our room even thought we had paid for it. We booked a villa with garden view however only received a double room

Took a lot longer than needed and it was a shame to not get the room you have paid for. After this, it was an okay stay but would not recommend to stay here because of the problems we had

The two free bottles per day are given to you at reception. The place facing the sea (AC2 restaurant) does not have sunbeds on the beach but uncomfortable sofas made from pallets

A true gem From the detailed introduction and warm welcome by the polite staff, the vast gardens that are nicely curated -but not too polished to lose their natural look- to the fantastic room, everything was as perfect as possible

Everything was great. The staff was so nice. The room was lovely. It can get loud at night due to the parties nearby, but other than that it was amazing great place!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for five nights and left on the sixth day. From start to finish, the experience was perfect. The staff at the reception were extremely friendly and always treated us well

It was very tasty, with a good variety of both local and international food. The hotel grounds were also a highlight. It has a private beach that is cleaned every morning, and we were offered free yoga sessions

The hotel also provided many useful amenities—shaving kits, toothbrushes, towels, bathrobes, and more. Breakfast was included in our stay and served in the hotel’s restaurant

One last thing we’d like to highlight: after the shuttle had already dropped us off at the pier to leave Koh Tao, the driver tracked me down a few minutes later to show me a necklace they had found in our room

Further up the beach and when u walk into the beach it wasn’t on the busy part of the beach - quieter. But still just a short walk to the busier part of the beach and the shops and choice of restaurants

The room was clean and the hotel is really close to the beach! It’s a nice option!!

The rooms are not my concept of a resort. The room itself is clean, the bathroom is not that much. The "basic room" means there is no tiles in the bathroom, no coffee/tea facilities. The shower had no pressure at all

The location is the reason you want to book here, nicely placed at the far side of O'Ciao Beach, you are only a two minute walk away from the beach bars

Rooms ok but aged, our AC didn't cool enough and sounded like a hurricane. Wood was rotten in some places, but that common in Thailand around tourist areas. koh Tao it mainly for the younger, diving or party crowd

Not bad, but about 60-70% of what we wanted. To compare, we stayed at a 4. 8 star on another island which was outstanding, had nothing, no even one thing that we could complain about for $60usd

We stayed in a Family Beach Front Bungalow and it was perfect! Friendly staff, restaurant was okay and the best was great fun for our children who loved the kayaks!

Nice small resort not very far from the pier. 5mn walk from the pier but away from the noise. Beach on this side of the island is beautiful but not sure that the sea is very clean. Too many boats and resorts around

However, if you prefer quiet and private accommodation better to request the room away from the beach as we stay at the beach front cabin and as an open areas some nights the young people like to come and hangout on the beach on the late night or early morning also we can here to ferry in and out in the morning and night

Quiet resort right next to the beach with many bars and coffee shops. Location wise great if you look for both. Service was great. Rooms are Thai style and clean.

The other resorts on the other parts of the island are bets for the quality. Anyway it would cost you a lot to join them by taxi. And pay attention that by night, the roads by motobike are a bit complicated/dangerous

The food and service second to none

Really nice property away from the busy towns full of travellers. Very peaceful if you want to just relax there. You can walk round to freedom beach and sharks bay albeit it is a walk

On the way there’s other places to eat and dive. Hotels runs a free shuttle 3 times a week to one of the towns. Otherwise they offer a taxi service at 100thb pp each way

5 minutes walk to small calm beach with perfect snorkeling opportunities. Resort is placed naturally in the area so it doesn’t feel like a hotel. Friendly professional staff that were always very helpful

A small local run operation which has great ocean view rooms. It is located away from the busy town area on a cliff at the southern part of the island. In front of it is a small sandy beach, great for snorkeling

It is a quiet place with a beach infront, where the snorkling is great (we even saw a turtle!). In 15 minutes you can get to Chalok baan kao bay where you find 7/11, pharmacy, massages, bars, restaurant, etc

I have traveled to sai nuan beach and ate in their restaurant, the food and service was great (fruit salad + cocunut vegetables rice soup) nice place to chill from the heat

PD is only 10 minutes from the pier, but it’s a very hilly journey and it does feel a bit remote, although Chalok beach is a rugged 20 minute walk and has shops, banks, restaurants

The scooters are too expensive and not good compared to any other accommodation we've stayed in. The beach section is short and nice. Unfortunately, the complex is not that nice to look at. We cut our stay short and left

The personel/staff was outstanding friendly, helping wherever they can and very forthcomming. The view from the room is stunning

Our visit to Thailand was the most expensive hotel but it was worth it. Pools great, we stayed in the Sky Zone and the views were amazing. The beach area and pool is also perfect

This resort is very conveniently located in Sairee beach just at the beginning of it. Quiet enough and away enough to enjoy the quiet but close enough to the party if that’s what you want

Small place pleasing service Its a small property but convenient in the road which had eateries etc. My room with a direct full beach view was great. The restaurant access is the other side of the road but convenient

Very much a 2* hotel with nice pool and location. Loved : location, right on a quiet beach but 5 mins walk to Mae Haad and Sairee, lots of restaurants etc around and no need for a bike here

The resort is quite old but in a good location close to the pier and beach. Staff service was fine but not impressive. If lookingfor quiet place this was be recommended
