The beach this hotel is on is incredible and a must-see in Koh Tao. The hotel itself is great, but it has limited connections to other restaurants, which they exploit by charging 20 euros for dishes (which is far too expensive for Thailand). You can't easily go eat elsewhere without a motorbike. If you're considering walking, it's a 30-minute trek with terrible hills.

This is the best place I've ever stayed. It had a large room with a wonderful view of a private snorkeling spot, a beach, and a restaurant that wasn't crowded. I completed my Open Water course with Tan and had a fantastic time. I was a little nervous having never dived before, but Tan was a very reassuring, friendly and patient instructor and I felt very safe at all times. The Dearly is a great hostel - really social and laid back, with very good facilities and services like free shuttles every day and of course diving. I highly recommend it.

This guesthouse is pretty good. I liked that there's a lot of open space – the rooms open onto outdoor terraces and have balcony access. The shuttle service that comes to pick you up when you contact them, plus several shuttle runs a day to Sairee Beach, made it manageable even though it's a bit far from the tourist spots, which was great. I'm not sure if it was just my room, but the toilet was slow to flush and the shower temperature was unstable, which was a bit of a shame. Overall, though, it was a good hotel!

Staffs are friendly. My room balcony able to see sunset and nang yuan island. Bed is soft and comfy.

There's no restaurant or cafe. Bring your groceries from the city; stores are very far away. There are frying pans, a gas stove, a large refrigerator, and you can eat at the cafe on the neighboring beach across the mountain. It's completely unsanitary, like in Goa, but the food is delicious. We first came to the hotel by chance, 3 years ago and fell in love with this place for its natural beauty. You have to understand that building a hotel on a cliff, in the jungle, right by the sea, and for everything to work, it must be something brilliant. And for the third time on Koh Tao we choose to stay here, for the third year in a row. We will come back again.

Beautiful location, in the middle of nowhere.... Apartment was spacious, but very basic. The view made up for everything.

Beautiful room which was outside and with stunning views of the bay. Snorkelling was good there too. Be mindful of steps - there are a lot and they killed my legs off but was a sacrifice for the view. Could do with more fans and one of the fans the wire was broken so unable to use it. Also, would be a good idea to put the fridge on before customers get there so the fridge is actually cool.

The Tanote Villa Resort is definitely worth recommending. If you’re looking for a quieter spot away from the crowds, this is the perfect place. Right below the resort is Tanote Bay, which is great for snorkeling. The staff are amazing - super friendly, attentive and always happy to help with anything you need.

Lovely stay, amazing views, staff were great, tasty food, walk down to beach lovely through nature, not too far, only 5 minutes if you are fit. Great for kids with pool table and table tennis. Not sure why yhere are any bad reviews as couldnt fault our stay, thank you

The hotel is perfectly located uphill ensuring breathtaking sea and mountain views. There’s a convenient pathway from the hotel to the beach, which would take around 5-10 minutes to get to. Pros: I liked the hotel's location, the cleanliness of the room and grounds, and the pools with stunning views of the bay. Cons: I booked two nights, but when I checked in, I was given room 304 and told I had to check out the next day and move to room 301. I believe this kind of behavior by hotel staff is unacceptable. At the very least, such inconveniences should be compensated with money or compliments...

Such a great place to stay beautiful pools .5min walk though jungle to best snorkling beach.then a small walk back up to luxury. Breakfast was awsome. Rooms are very nice ours was pool side so good.good aircon.

The beach is just a short walk away, and we used their scooters to explore the island easily. The staff was friendly, and we really enjoyed the Thai food at the restaurant, especially dinner with the view over the bay. The pools are also a nice place to relax.

We had an okay stay at AC 2 resort the room was reasonably clean however had a couple of patches of mould. The resort is lovely though looks very appealing and is in the perfect location. Very nice room next to the sea and in the small main street so everything is nearby. Too bad we came across it during construction work, the hotel is expanding. The workmen started around 10am.
