Lucky Bungalow Resort in Ko Mook

- The Staff was adorable and always with great predisposition.
- Small details made a great difference such as extra hangers, violet light for little bugs, big toilet paper.
- Wifi, Shower, AC worked perfectly.
- Location was near main spots and markets.
- all spotless
- tables and chairs outside was a plus
- we tried to extend one week more but it was fully booked :(

great location, right in the middle of everything, but not next to anything. Another way to say it is it's equally far and close to everything.
Rooms are well supplied, with comfortable beds, fridge, fantastic showers, etc.
Staff are absolutely lovely and helpful!
Bikes and scooters available too!

The owner and all the staff is super friendly and fluent in English. The place has a family atmosphere and is super chill. The bungalow was more than enough for the price. The location is good. The place is extremely quiet so I slept like a baby

Our experience at Lucky Bungalows was a mix of positives and a few challenges. The room was small but clean, offering a simple, no-frills stay. However, since our room was the farthest from the router, we occasionally had issues with the Wi-Fi connection.

We believe this is one of the best budget-friendly accommodations on the island, but we did encounter some bugs during our stay—a reminder of the island’s natural environment. On the plus side, the location is excellent, right in the center of the island, surrounded by many restaurants. We also highly recommend visiting the nearby resort, which offers a serene and quiet atmosphere with great food at a fair price.

The highlight of our stay was the staff—they were outstanding, always willing to assist and quick to meet any requests we had.

Overall, Lucky Bungalows is a solid choice for those seeking affordability and a central location, but be prepared for the trade-offs in standard that seem common on this island.

Great location near the village center but not too noisy. Beds were NOT hard like most places. Good sleep with a lovely garden in the morning to watch hornbills if you're lucky.
Good location to pop to the pier in the morning to see dugongs too, the owner will advise about times and places to do that and other things.

Super chilled, great location and incredibly helpful hosts! This is a small, friendly island with one 'main' beach - come here expecting to chill out. There are also some half-decent spots for snorkelling too!

If you follow me or have read any of my reviews before, you'll know my ethos: location, room state/facilities matter, but what matters most are the interactions I have with people.

In that respect, Lucky Bungalows did not disappoint!

This was my first visit to Koh Mook, despite having been based in Trang for a little while and I had a really pleasant stay.

So I had turned up without a booking, on the hope and the vaguely educated assumption, that I would probably find a room (and I did). Even my boat journey was unplanned (I was deliberately laid back about the whole process). What I did have, though, was a small amount of cash and my bank card (I had already researched whether there was an ATM on the island - there is.... one).

After walking a little while (and having already scoped out a couple of potential resorts to stay in) I found Lucky Bungalows. To cut a long story short, Tittaree and Jon were really helpful during my stay, assisting me with bike hire, return journey information, a lift to the pier on my day of departure and also just generally being very warm and welcoming (not to mention doing me a huge favour which required them putting their utmost trust in me - thank you both for helping me with that!).

On their kind nature alone, I rate this stay so highly. Everything else was a bonus :)

Travel:
From the mainland (Trang) to Koh Mook:
- Head to Khuan Tung Ku Pier. There is one ferry (this one is big enough to take your motorbike) per day (approx 100/200 baht) which leaves the mainland at 12:30 pm and there are other smaller boats on either side of that time. A Long-tail boat costs around 700 baht (travelling solo), however, if you wait until other passengers wish to travel, it becomes cheaper - I think I paid 100 baht, one-way).

From Koh Mook to the mainland:
- The main/big ferry returns to mainland Trang, departing from Koh Mook pier at approx. 8 am (this is the one you can take a small vehicle onto). Apparently, there are other smaller ferries that make journeys, at 9 am and 2 pm. Unsure about costs for those. Long-tail boats, similarly, return to Trang for (presumably) the same price as the journey to the island.

(On the island itself, you can hire a bike with little fuss for approx 200/250 baht)

Next time I return, I'll be taking my walking shoes to visit the view point!

Nice bungalow with seats outside. Free coffee. Free bicycle was offered to cycle to the beach, but best is to walk to a secluded beach Ao Lo Dang, and / or hike to Sabai beach and spot monkeys along the way.

Close to food and beaches ⛱️ good prices for room with air.

great budget bungalows! good value (we paid 1000 thb/night incl ac in march 2020), perfect location (close to bars & restaurants, 10 min walk to sivalai beach). the room was clean and had all you need - ac, fan, fridge, big bathroom with hot water, free coffee, wifi etc.. and there was a pretty garden & friendly staff! looks a lot better than in their own pictures!

This is the second hotel I've been to in ko mook and it's by far, better than the other one. Very nice, bright and clean bungalows facing the garden. We wished we stayed there longer. Very polite owners, they arranged the boat and the transportation to the pier for us. Highly recommended
