Koh Ngai Cliff Beach Resort in Ngai

This is the Thailand i like, easy calm and quiet.
Price for the roms are low and the room are ok.
The restaurant is really good as long you eat Thai food.
The only downside is the beach, there is to much dirt on in and you must walk down the beach to get some nice sand and no dirt.

This hotel is a little bit special. From the bottom of the hotel at sea level and to the top floor pool level, it's 213 stairs.
Yes it's nice if you see your vacation as the path to a healthy life, but not all people is just doing that ;-) .

Breakfast and dinner is located down at the hotel and because the hotel has almost no beach it self your swimming is forced up 213 stairs to the pool.
The pool is regular but with nice view over the sea.
The pool has a bar and lunch restaurant. Open at 10 to 16.
At low tide you can go to the islands other beaches that's nice and have really nice sand.
At high tide you need to do the same trip more tricky thru some woods and thru other resorts witch is not so easy or just take a longboat from the hotel.
A longboat to the islands best beach (Paradise Beach) cost about 50Bat/person.
The room we got was really nice and pointed out thru the sea. This gave us a nice sunrise.
40% of the rooms are pointed this way. The rest of the rooms is unfortunately moor or less pointed against the island. This is a problem because the hotel has not main land electricity and runs a diesel engine to produce electricity 24/7.
When you visit those rooms you hear the low pitch sound of diesel engine all the time.
Another thing that's a little bit annoying is that three times per day the whole island is alarmed during 60-120 min with a high pich sound and we try to figure it out. You could not get any strait answer of what it was but it was really annoying the first days until you just get use of it.
Probably it was waterpumps pushing fresh rain water between the hotels water reservoirs.
The personnel on this hotel is just professional. Not everyone speaks English but together the manage it.
The lady in reception who's own this hotel is so helpful and fix every bookings for you and trips and it's just top notch every time! Thanks!
The beds are hard but not harder then any other regular Thailand resort.
You can choose between fan or AC in each room.
The showers regulate hot water with gas.
The food on the hotel is good, but the sice of the kitchen makes it hard for groups more then 4 people to get the food nearly the same time. A group of 8 people need to be ready for atleaist 30-40 min before all in the group got their food.
But still, the food is good, and it's vacation:-)
The drinks are just drinks more or less, no disappointment and no WOW.
Price range on food and drinks is normal to Thailand.
Today I can recommend this resort, but if they don't soon get mainland electricity connection, this resort is going to be filtered out as suggestion. No guest from 2020 is going to accept 24/7 diesel pollution and this annoying noice on their vacation, regardless how nice the hotel is.

Excellent location, with friendly and helpful staff, although perhaps a little slow and forgetful at times. The rooms were adequate, clean and tidy but not the most modern. Despite a great location, the beach outside is rocky and not somewhere to sunbath, go to the pool for that, but fairly good snorkeling right outside. The food could also be improved but generally this was a good place on a quiet and positively underdeveloped island. Last but not least, what a view, check our the photos!
