Chanathinat Place in Udon Thani City

For under £10 a night, you really can’t beat Chanathinat Place. It’s a fantastic budget option in Udon Thani that punchs well above its weight.

The Room: The rooms are impressively large—much bigger than I expected for the price. It comes with a full-size fridge (not just a tiny minibar) and the WiFi is strong and reliable, which was a huge plus. Also, the towels were surprisingly soft and high-quality!

Service: I did have a few hiccups when I first checked in: the AC needed a clean as the room was too warm, the toilet was broken, and the water pressure was very low. However, the staff were fantastic. They addressed every single issue immediately without any fuss. To my surprise, they even gave me a complimentary night to make up for the inconvenience. That level of service is rare in the budget sector.

Convenience: There is a 7/11 just a 5-minute walk away.

Food: There’s a great local food court nearby with tons of vendors and plenty of seating.

Nightlife: It’s about a 20-minute walk to the main nightlife area—close enough to be accessible, but far enough away to be quiet.

Verdict: Don’t expect 5-star luxury, but if you are looking for a clean, spacious, and well-managed place on a budget, this spot is absolutely spot on. Highly recommended!

Very cheap and quiet area.. close to many shops for eating and other stuff. A bit old room and no elevators and very bad wifi but thats ok. I recommend if traveling cheaply

Excelent hotel, good service, clean, peaceful place, I recommend this hotel.

Great for people on a budget, you get a big room with a fridge and TV... Toilet with a hot shower. Little balcony also. Bang for a buck. Location is a few km from the centre of things, but plenty of Thai restaurants around!

Centrally located, large room with small balcony, good WiFi. Eating options nearby. Refrigerator in the room. Unfortunately no kettle.
