Sofitel Hotel in Berdyansk

We stayed for 5 days at the end of July with a baby, we really liked the hotel!

A month before our vacation, my family and I booked a room at the Sofitel Hotel.
I asked for a room on the first floor, since we would be with a stroller, and asked in advance where the windows faced (the windows faced a construction site). In fact, there was no construction, it was quiet and that was ideal for us, there was always silence around us, no one walked near the balcony.

Just a couple of days before the holiday, I read a lot of bad reviews, either there were few sunbeds near the pool, or a bad room, or an unfriendly administrator, and much more.
I was already determined that the rest would not be very good.

But upon arrival we were very surprised, our request for a room was fulfilled, the administrator was friendly and smiling.
The room is spacious and clean.
There are enough sun loungers near the pool, but I would put more umbrellas.

There were also such smart people who took places near the pool under an umbrella, but in the end did not lie there themselves, but this is a problem of ill-mannered people, this happens in other hotels, we have encountered it.

Breakfast from 8:00 was served very quickly, but the portions could have been larger, but overall not bad.
Conclusion:
The hotel is great, we will come again, I highly recommend it.

But something needs to be done with the cafe, it seems to be good there, but it seems not.
I would like more portions and variety, that the waiters were more qualified, 2 times I was not counted correctly the amount of the check (1 time for 40 UAH, another time for 10 UAH).

We rested at the Sofitel hotel in mid-July 2021.
The hotel is new, the area is not noisy, suitable for families with children, there is a playground. Our room was a two-room deluxe, clean, all the furniture was new, the towels and bed linen were clean, the staff was friendly. The room has a kettle, cups, hairdryer. The pool is open this year (I read in reviews last year that it wasn’t open yet), and it saved us on days when the sea was simply swarming with jellyfish. But... If you decide to go out to lie near the pool during the day or just put your things on the sunbed, then the situation is always the same - there is nowhere. Everything is always busy, and not because there are a lot of people in the pool, but because someone’s towels are sunbathing there all day, because don’t feed our people bread, but let them take a sunbed at 6-7 in the morning, and they will decide to show up there in the middle of the day at best. Not far from the beach, 100 meters, across the road.
Overall I liked the hotel.
Didn't like: the dining room! In one word, horror. The food is not tasty, the breakfast, which is included in the price of your stay, is the same every day: sliced ​​sausage, cheese, bread, butter, and a choice of: omelet, oatmeal, sometimes pancakes or cottage cheese casserole, and if you come at the time appointed for the second building, and this is from 9-10, then there is no choice, as the waiter will tell you with a ridiculous grin. In general, the dining room is in complete chaos: the tables are not cleared on time, you can wait a long time for breakfast to be brought to you, all the dishes are always cold, you always have to ask for napkins and cutlery. It seems that the cafe staff are always tired and have no strength or desire to work. There is not really a menu; the waiter will tell you what you can order for lunch or dinner, reading from a notepad or his smartphone. Accordingly, you will not find out either the prices or the weight of the dishes. In general, no matter what you order, it’s not tasty.
But there are many other cafes and places to eat around, so it’s not a problem. I wish the hotel to develop, bring order to the dining room, and find an intelligent chef.

I work remotely, it was very important for me to check in at 10.30, we checked in very quickly, they were waiting for us and greeted us with understanding. Naturally, good, uninterrupted Internet operation for me were the main criteria for choosing a hotel and I was not mistaken. The Internet works great both in the room and in the gazebo by the pool. When booking the room, it was indicated that breakfast was available. It was enough for me and my husband, we have the same breakfast at home (porridge + sausage/cutlet, omelet, cheesecakes, pancakes, tea, sandwiches) we could choose one thing, but if we choose porridge and we want more pancakes, then we could buy more, the prices are inexpensive, everything is fresh and tasty. The guys working in the canteen are responsible, smiling, and friendly. We always dined in our dining room and waited a maximum of 5 minutes for our order to be brought to us. There were people who were indignant that they didn’t have enough breakfast, well, excuse me, if it says that breakfast is until 9.00, what do you want to see at 10.00? It’s a huge plus that they cook so much in the dining room that there is no leftover, so everything is fresh. A lot of people eat in the canteen, because it’s delicious and the prices are reasonable; if you don’t like the food, you can choose another establishment; there are plenty of them here. The guys are doing their job. There is always music playing near the pool. We had a great time, it’s a pity that it was only 4 days. The staff was friendly, the maid collected the trash every day. The room has a hairdryer, kettle, cups. The hair dryer is small but powerful, my hair is thick and long, the hair dryer did the job quickly) The sea is close, we mostly swam in the pool. Great hotel. Beautiful territory, beautiful landscape in the yard, even my favorite lavender grows 😍 The rooms are comfortable, which is also important, there are no unpleasant odors. I was very surprised by the administration’s approach to the comfort of its visitors: instead of diluted liquid soap, or a useless disposable piece of incomprehensible soap, as is customary in other hotels in Ukraine, they provided a full-fledged packaged bar of soap, on the packaging you can read the composition and expiration date, even in each room there are brand new laundry cloths (I usually carry them with me, in case something spills or wipe the table), there is a hairdryer, a kettle in the room, and socket near the mirror. Everything is thought out and comfortable. Thank you for a good vacation!!! We'll be back again

Very cool hotel. We really liked it. Affordable prices even for locals. The hotel is new. Opened a few months ago. Therefore, everything is fresh)) After the wedding, we immediately came to the room. At the reception we were greeted kindly, with a surprise - a box of chocolates and wine) We were very pleased with this attitude. The hotel has an ideal location on the spit. Across the road there is a beautiful beach, next to a small park with attractions for adults and children, a market within a five-minute walk, many cafes, canteens, a pharmacy, shops. There is also a bus stop near the hotel, making it convenient to get to the city center. We recommend this hotel to everyone. You will really like it.
