4 star hotels in Newcastle upon Tyne

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff but the room cleanliness was not up to standard also having to pay £7 each extra to use pool etc was a surprise

An absolutely lovely stay I can’t honestly thank the hotel enough for the help they gave me during the stay.

Nice clean hotel ,excellent breakfast ,friendly staff but terrible bed very hard ,room to hot opened windows but noise from air con ducts on roof below kept us awake tv was always turning off itself room 332 third floor

nice little room not to far from city centre we went for christmas markets such a beautiful loction

Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were spotless, pillows were not the best. Had to pay extra for swimming pool but worth it as pool warm and facilities spotless. Will return

Fantastic clean spacious bedroom, lovely comfy bed we had. Great for last minute get away, just booked for a night to get away for after Xmas. Will defo use the spa next time.

Everything was perfectly fine — the breakfast was very tasty and well prepared, and an additional highlight was the beautiful view of the river, which made the morning truly special and enjoyable.

This was a great hotel and I LOVED the views from our corner "Townhouse" (essentially a large 1 bedroom apartment). I wish it had a microwave. Also those who walk around should note that riverside location means uphill walk to main town. Walking along the river was wonderful though.

amazing place !! very lovely place for couple haha and i love the scenary

The room was nice, the view was great, and the breakfast was good too. The only downside was the lack of privacy in the bathroom, which was a bit awkward; a curtain would be a good idea. The location is a little inconvenient if you're walking the whole way without taking a taxi, but overall it was good!

Well what started as a bad experience was quickly sorted by the excellent staff. We won a nights stay at the INNSiDE Newcastle and on our way driving up we got a call from the PR agency saying there was a mis-communication and we actually had no room to stay in. As part of the prize was to see the Royal Northern Sinfonia we needed somewhere to change, the PR agency said there was no where to change...

The river view is beautiful, especially the scenery near the bridge in early autumn. The natural light is excellent, and the room is very comfortable; I didn't want to leave. There's a small refrigerator, and the other amenities are good. The bedding is comfortable, and the room is quiet. Housekeeping is done daily; if not, a note will be left. The breakfast selection is somewhat limited. Booking...

Very slow check in Only one person at reception dealing with with check-ins, phone calls, staff etc. at the bar late in the evening when we returned for a drink after our meal no waiting staff ! We had to q and carry our drinks to the table.

It takes around 15 min to walk to the central station. Really excellent view beside the river. Very good soundproof and quiet. Good hot water. But there is no ventaliation in the bathroom.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Especially Sam on reception. Went out of his way to help resolve an issue not related to hotel. Had dinner at hotel which was very nice and good value. The only downfall was the cooked breakfast was lukewarm, with bacon cold.

Great staff and clean room. Location was great, uphill to the main part of Newcastle. Close to trains and buses.

Arrived very early and asked if we could store our bag. The receptionist, who was friendly and efficient, allocated us a room right away. Great views over the river and the food from the restaurant was lovely. Within a short walk of the are arena, train station and shops. Will most certainly book again.

Hotel room nice, good view of the river.. staff really helpful. Very disappointed with the breakfast.. Hard black pudding Hard hash browns Just warm sausage Luke warm beans Didn’t try anything else Toast nice and tea nice. But would book with out breakfast if I stopped again.

nice hotel, perfect location, nice and quiet, good price and lovely staff

Very convenient, well placed hotel - with a nice pool and good breakfast

Excellent amenities including robe and slippers. Room was spacious with good heating. Nice games are in reception

Excellent amenities including robe and slippers. Room was spacious with good heating. Nice games are in reception

Heating not working the room is cold. When you take shower the water coming slow, drainage for water not going through. TV is old no apps you can't pair your devices. They need renovation on their room. The place is good but the hotel is too old

Good service and staff are so nice.

First time.with my son 10. Friendly staff, nice pool and spa, good location. Basic but OK breakfast. It could do a bit better. Overall, we enjoyed it and good value for money

Very kind staff they allowed me to a late check out

Convenient location for shopping and dining.

It was fantastic experience, and with metro shopping centre 2 minutes walk away can't get any better

Lovely Hotel to go With families

The room was a bit dated, but overall it was acceptable.

Hotel was lovely, staff friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was good the staff were efficient and friendly too. Bed was comfy bathroom gorgeous

What a perfect location for a flight from Newcastle.. The room was massive , beautiful bedding, fridge , kettle , coffee etc and a delicious complimentary cookie when we checked in. We ate in the Italian restaurant where the waiter and waitresses were so smiley and helpful. Wonderful service . We’ll be back for certain

Great location with walking to metro and airport. Good room with useful fridge. Also Iron and heated towel rail. Gym is also useful.  Bathroom a bit cramped and shower door lets water across bathroom floor

I have stayed here a few times. Comfy beds, spacious rooms and perfect for the airport.

Room was very tired. This use to be a lovely hotel but now, from our recent experience, it’s very much fur coat and no knickers. Lovely reception bar and dinning areas but our room was definitely not what Hilton use to stand for. Our room was very very tired. The wood work was all chipped and looking shabby, the pleather head board had numerous bare/worn areas and there was mould in the bathroom. Not...

Very comfortable bed, clean hotel Attentive staff

It was relaxing and a chill night. Watched Amazon Prime and order in before heading back

Great stay. Staff were super attentive!

Quiet location next to the river, the hotel seems old but everything was clean and fully functional, the rooms are huge. But when I asked for toothbrush , the staff told us we can get it from the vending machine in the hotel, but the vending machine was broken and seems like the staff didn’t know which was a bit disappointing.

Great location on Quayside. Decor looks little tired and overall atmosphere could be better.

Excellent hotel and would definitely stay again

The hotel is in the city of Newcastle, the location is very good, the hotel staff is very enthusiastic, helping with luggage, very gentlemanly, very satisfied during the stay, the room is large, clean and tidy

Was really great customer services. Works on that night. The manager was really friendly and professional

except location, food, room quality were poor. carpet is dirty and smelly.

Nice clean room, central location easy for the station   Bit noisy with plumbing system

From booking in to booking out everything was perfec to the staff behind counter to the staff in resturant ..only hiccup was beans and egg cold but rest was fine t

The location is excellent, directly opposite Newcastle train station. The day before, I stayed at the Hampton next door. The price increased significantly the next day, so I moved to this one, which had a stable price. However, it was really bad, and I advise my fellow countrymen to be cautious about staying here. The room itself matched the merchant's photos. The bathroom was generally spacious,...

Lovely hotel very clean staff were very helpful lovely breakfast wouldn’t hesitate staying here again thank you for a lovely stay.

We booked the superior room which was lovely and very good value for money. The only thing that let it down was that the bath was filthy. We didn’t have breakfast or use any of the facilities but we did order room service. The food was very nice and arrived hot and well presented. The lady on reception on arrival and checkout wasn’t the friendliest which was quite disappointing. Overall a pleasurable...

Good stop off while up on business , close to motorways. Found hotel both great value and all amenities fantastic. Food & staff brilliant will definitely stay again thank you. Cameron W

Receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clear and the food was good. My only critisicm would be the Gym and Spa facilities. The poolside was dirty as people had used their outdoor footwear to walk into the pool. The gym equipment was very dated but functional.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, not much around it but Carter and Fitch restaurant on site. Lots of parking.

Lovely hotel. Was upgraded to a privilege room. The rooms are stunning. Balcony door for lovely fresh air and lovely view over the golf course.

Stayed in the suite, it's a large, 'family room' clean with a nice ensuite. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great 👍👍

Stayed at this hotel more times than I can remember. Home from home. Excellent food, friendly staff.

Everything was excellent apart from when we returned the bar was closed at 10.30 and couldn’t get a drink

The team here are extremely helpful and work hard for each other. The food is of a high standard. Will use this place whenever I’m in the area.

The staff were excellent, very attentive, breakfast was 1st class. Our room was fine but being so close to the bar/ resteraunt it was a bit noisy and often filled with a strong smell of cooking!

A great, friendly welcome at reception when I arrived. Ground floor rooms only, so no stairs to worry about. The room was clean and very quiet with comfortable beds and a lovely shower room, plus a TV. The food was plentiful and cooked very well. It was nice and hot when it arrived, and in no way expensive. A great stay, thank you.

The hotel staff were very friendly and made us feel at home and very welcome. The hotel was lovely, quiet, with proper fires and excellent Chesterfields to relax and chat on. The selection at the small bar was very good, I enjoy a good whisky when relaxing and they had a good selection. Our room was a good size, just right for us, the bed was comfortable and the room was warm. It had all of the usuals...

A joy to stay with Elena and her team. A cosy property with more of a guest house vibe than a full-service hotel experience - but all the more enjoyable for that. The castle has a great gastro-pub just a 3-minute walk away in the village. Lovely cooked breakfast in the hotel, Ideal for a short stopover or to explore the area. Perfectly quiet and easily accessible by car or taxi from Newcastle...

Friendly and welcoming staff but slightly unconventional in many ways. Needs money spent on it.

Fantastic family run hotel We had a wonderful stay and the evening meal was excellent - highly recommended and very good value. Breakfast was also excellent. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge and bar and service was friendly and very good, the staff are all great and very welcoming. The grounds are pretty and the room was very good size and bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and...

Such a beautiful building. Was a great experience

What a fabulous stay we had, from the warm welcome, immaculately clean rooms and, the food is amazing. We can't wait to arrange a return visit Thank you for making our stay perfect. Xx

Everything was great, only small issue beyond hotel control was lift not working...... have issues with mobility so accessi g second floor room was awkward

Lovely clean spacious room staff friendly

Wonderful clean hotel as always, with smooth check in & check out. Spoke to members of staff on the phone previous to coming to the hotel about a question we had about linking the booking days together & the staff was so lovely & so polite & helpful. Rooms are always smelling fresh, spacious, beds always big & comfortable. Always love that about The Village hotel at Cobalt, however we have been left...

Brilliant staff always and very clean will return very soon

The food and amenities were awesome, the rooms were a little small, but we’re in great condition.

Lovely hotel and excellent facilities

Just finished a 2 night stay at Park Farm Hotel. What a lovely little place!! The owners Neil & Emily are amazing. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back soon. Love the breakfast cart. Perfect for that country stay away we all need from time to time!! Thanks.

Easiest 5 stars I've ever given, great communication by text before arrival, room quality is excellent, all the usual stuff and extras stored in a quality caravan shed outside., if you need like microwave, plenty parking outside and if you're staying book in at the ravensworth arms for dinner, very nice. Also the room was very affordable for the quality and so have zero hesitation in recommending to...

We stayed here in 2017 and were looking forward to the stay this time, however although the rooms were still well kept you no longer go to the house for breakfast it is a do it yourself from a trailer. Fine for nice weather to sit outside to eat breakfast, but no where in your room to sit and eat, and obviously only continental. Such a shame as the breakfasts we enjoyed in 2017 were amazing, but no...

2 night stay. Excellent accommodation, nice room, split mezzanine level, facilities great, lovely peaceful location, friendly owners. Would highly recommend a stay at Park Farm Hotel. Although not traditional breakfast, goodie bags with good choice for that continental feel.

Stayed here for 2 nights with family. The accommodation is delightful, clean and comfortable. This is a very quiet and peaceful place which is not too far from the city center o Newcastle, a relatively short taxi ride and you are there. Definitely a place where we will return and we highly recommend Park Farm.

Second visit within a few months. Lovely, beautiful location and very quiet. Stayed in a room and a mezzanine on different visits, they are both spacious, clean, cosy, and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and had a great night sleep. There is fresh milk and a breakfast in a bag ready each morning for each room and you can top us cereals, bread/toast with jam/ butter, tea/coffee, yogurts...
